Battery Operated, Sturdy, Ice Packs Included, Two Meals – Recommended
I have two cats that prefer wet food. I got two of these feeders from different companies so that I would have enough food for each cat when Iâm gone all day, or not home overnight on a business trip. These are battery operated which makes them portable and also working when the power goes out. I live in Florida and the power goes out frequently during hurricane season. Unlike my other pet feeders, these do not need wifi or a smart phone app to control the settings, which is beneficial when the power is out. I like having the smart phone app on my other feeder to add or subtract feeding times. So, itâs nice to have both types. I also have a dry food feeder that goes off early every morning so that I can get extra sleep without two cats pouncing on me at the crack of dawn. These feeders could be used for that also. The timing setting is hour increments only, not half hour. Not a big deal to me. Stainless steel bowls are wide enough to not cause whisker fatigue. Ice packs stay cold up to 8 hours. I wish they were larger so that they could keep food colder for longer.Pros:1. Timer settings in hour only increments is easy to use.2. Easy to clean metal bowls are dishwasher safe.3. Wet food stays cold with ice packs (included) for 8 hours,4. Small tray, but cats only need ping pong ball size of wet food.Suggestions for Improvements:Larger ice packs to keep wet food cold for longer.Deeper tray to hold more foodTimer with half hour settings.

Simple feeders that work anywhere
I have two cats and they only eat wet food. Sometimes we like to go out to a concert or dinner and will not be home at their dinner time. These automatic feeders allow us to do that easily. What I like best about them is that they are battery powered and can be used anywhere – even when the power is out. They also do not need wifi or a smart phone app to control them, which again is helpful when the power is out. The dial for the timing is not exact as each marking you turn it is about an hour. I have been able to turn it to 30 minutes by turning the dial half way to the first marking. The stainless steel bowls are wide and my cats whiskers do not hit the edges while eating. The ice packs stay cold for a few hours. I would recommend not using it for cold food for more than 8 hours, but for dry food you can set it up to 48.

Pretty nice automatic feeder, with a few downsides depending on use
I will say, this is a nice automatic pet feeder if you need to have a small meal or 2 set out for the next day, but that is about it.Pros:1. Easy to set timer in hour only increments.2. Easy to clean tray.3. Can have food kept cold with the ice packs included for the next day.Cons:1. The timer, while nice for hour increments, if you need to set it in shorter time periods you can as this only goes for hours. This is a con depending on the person that needs it.2. The tray is small, so don’t expect to put a bunch of wet/dry food in there.3. I would not, even with the cold pack, put wet food in there for over 24 hours (time may vary depending on temp inside your home). If I am gone for a day I might put a serving in each one for morning or night, but the ice pack is very small and won’t keep the food cold for that long. This could be good, but I’d rather they had a bulkier ice pack, deeper tray, and changed the timer to fit more ability to adjust the time you need it for.

Not really worth it
These went straight to our local animal shelter in hopes that they would be able to use them as regular dishes. They are made very cheaply and not a sturdy plastic at all. No matter how you set the “timer” it goes off at it’s own timing and opens up. It is a nice concept if it worked correctly just needs a few bugs worked out I guess is the right wording.

Who leaves dogs unattended for 2 days?
These bento boxes are meant for cats and dogs. For starters, theyâre not true bento boxes because each one only has a single section. Arenât bento boxes comprised of multiple sections? With cats, I understand, but who leaves their dog(s) unattended for up to 2 days? They need to get water and potty breaks. These boxes are nice in theory, but donât function well. The timer can be set for up to 48 hours, but users should be able to set 30- or even 15-minute increments, in my opinion; 1-hour increments are too broad. Each box comes with its own freezer pack, which is thoughtful, but I donât see wet food staying cool that long as small as the packs are. The feeding containers are very small too. Perhaps these would work well for one pet for a meal in the morning and a meal at night. We have 3 dogs, so we decided to try them on the 2 best behaved dogs. One was scared of it and took off when it opened, no longer interested in the food. The other saw the food go in and was continuously agitated that she couldnât eat it.Each bento box requires a AA battery for the timer to function. Directions say an alkaline battery will last 12 months. If accurate, using 2 AA batteries per year isnât bad.I like that you can hear the timer ticking once itâs engaged. However, I donât recommend this product, especially for the high price point!

Great, short term automatic pet feeder.
This is a great, short term (under 48 hrs), automatic pet feeder. Very simple to use, no complicated programming. Simply turn the dial to however many hours in advance you want the lid to open (for example, if it’s 5 PM now and you want it to open at 5 PM tomorrow, turn the dial to 24 hrs). We tested for several different time frames and they opened right as programmed. The dial goes up to 48 hours and that’s probably long enough as you don’t want the ice pack to fully melt since it’s used to keep the canned food fresh. Works on a single battery, just keep the ice packs in the freezer to be ready for whenever. Stainless steel bowl pops out easily and is easy to clean. The only downside is that one feeder only serves one meal at a time, but the order is for a pack of two. So if you want to feed two meals/day for two days, you’ll need four of these and that starts to take up a little space.
