Love this tea….
I love this tea. It was a gift and I wholly expected a cup of “hot grass water”. But actually, it’s quite lovely. I wouldn’t use it to replace my coffee, or even Breakfast and Green teas, but it’s a nice afternoon cuppa and does keep my mood just a tad softer.

Interesting ‘cleansing’ type drink. Doesn’t remind me of Coffee at all. Flat Bitter Bread Kvass?
As far as coffee alternatives go, there are some fairly cheap alternatives I like much better. Simple Barley/Rye with some added ingredients like Chicory can remind me of coffee with something of a robust taste.Watch out regarding the bag containing this as it is susceptible to punctures. After opening this the second time I pressed too hard and it created a small opening in the center of the back of the bag.This is like coffee because of its color and having it hot, usually? I have had this hot and cold, and both ways this has a something odd astringent taste, even when used with the French Press per suggestion as well as when I’ve made it with 180-degree water and steeped for 5 minutes.Cold, this reminds me quite a bit of bread kvass that went flat and didn’t have much in terms of raisins, etc., as there isn’t any real sweetness to it.I don’t like giving it 1 star because I believe they are likely correct about the ingredients and they are well sourced, but this is expensive, and “this doesn’t taste right,” and I find the suggestion of it as a coffee alternative as misleading.

Great coffee alternative. My kiddos even like it. Good base for creamer which is how I used to drink my coffee. Sometimes I mix other flavors together to create something new. Comes out smooth and clean. Great morning ritual.

Delicious but not a coffee alternative
So as an avid coffee and tea drinker, this product leans more towards the tea side than the coffee side. Even if it’s more tea than coffee, I still enjoyed it a lot. It has a nice earthy taste with a hint of lemon from the lemon balm. The instructions are fairly easy to follow; however, they do say to use a French Press and I doubt everyone has one of those, so it would be nice for maybe different brewing instructions would help with the others that lack a French Press.My favorite part of this product is the taste. I like milk and sugar in my tea but even without that, it was delicious. This does require an acquired taste due to the fact it’s so earthy but those that enjoy a nice cup of herbal tea would enjoy this. I also enjoy that it has various types of mushrooms; however, it doesn’t specially say how many milligrams of each mushroom is in there other than ratios on some of the ingredients.Now as for the stress-relieving and dopamine-boosting thing, I do have to admit for I felt more relaxed after drinking a cup of it but I would like to see how it does after drinking it regularly. I do find this product a little more on the pricier side of things, but due to all of the ingredients being organic and sustainably sourced I can imagine that impacting the price quite a bit.Overall, this product is delicious and I would drink this daily. I wouldn’t say this is for everyone, especially since the product says not to drink if you’re taking any type of SSRIs so I would research first to see if this is the best product for you before buying.

Confusing product – doesn’t include any adaptogenic mushrooms
I’m honestly kind of confused by the marketing of this product. The item title is “Rasa Joy – Adaptogenic Mushroom Coffee Alternative”. This made me assume that it was a coffee alternative made from adaptogenic mushrooms, like many of Rasa’s other products, and what I was looking forward to having enjoyed other brands of mushroom “coffee”. However, there are no mushrooms in the ingredients of this blend at all, so I can only assume the title is a misprint (copied and pasted from one of their other blends that includes mushrooms) or that they mean the beverage is an alternative to mushroom coffee, which really doesn’t make much sense. Essentially, it’s a very expensive herbal tea blend. Yes, some of these herbs are adaptogenic and have more benefits than the herbs in a more traditional herbal tea, and there is no doubt in my mind that the herbs included in this product are better sourced and are of higher quality than many other teas on the market, but I feel like this product’s marketing is pretty misleading as a “mushroom coffee alternative” when it’s basically tea. As I was expecting it to contain mushrooms, and because the first two ingredients are cacao and chicory, I expected an earthy flavor, not coffee like persay, but coffee adjacent, which is how I typically would describe these types of beverages. The main flavor that shone through with this blend was the lemon balm, so it tasted more floral and citrusy, but with earthy undertones from the other ingredients which I didn’t enjoy the combination of. I gave some to my partner because he loves lemon, and citrusy teas, and while he liked it much more than I did, he said he still preferred the flavor other organic teas that we buy for literally 10% of the cost. If you love lemon balm and/or if you’re looking specifically for the benefits of the herbs contained in this blend, this might be for you, but we were not impressed.

Makes me Happy
I donât know how else to explain this one. The flavor is like nothing else Iâve ever had. Itâs rich and roasted like a coffee kind of drink, but thereâs also this lemony/citrus kick that I really enjoy. The bottom line though is that this blend reliably lifts my mood. I just feelâ¦happier after a cup or two.
