Good cheap RGBCW bulbs!
I have been researching smart bulbs for a while now. Zigbee vs. Wi-Fi, name brand vs off-brand, color vs non-color, etc. Mostly, I want a bulb with good brightness and adjustable white color for less than $10/bulb. I ordered the 3Stone 100W A21 RGBCW 4-pack. They came in at about $7/bulb and I installed yesterday.The most important feature to me was that the white color was adjustable. This is where the “CW” in RGBCW comes in. This means that the white color is adjustable from Cool (very blue-ish) to Warm (very yellow-ish).As you can see from the pics, they are larger bulbs and stick out of my light fixture a bit. They are lightweight with plastic globes and feel a bit cheap. We will see how long they will last, but so far, they work well.I was pleased to find that they use the same Smart Life app that my smart plugs and LED strip lights use, so no new software or accounts to set up. The lights each came on and started blinking. I pressed the “+” in Smart Life, chose “Auto Scan”, renamed the bulb and put it in a “room”. SO EASY.In Smart Life, there is a “Common Functions” drop-down where you can set brightness and color temp precisely. Or you can go into the bulb and “dial” white or color choices. You can also choose from some preset color changing patterns.Since, my Google Home was already linked to my Smart Life account, the new bulbs just showed up the app. I added them to a room and that was it.At this price and function level, I will DEFINITELY be ordering more of these bulbs!

The bulbs arrived on time and well packaged without any damage. They are plenty bright when to set to White light. They are comparable in brightness to my previous 1100 lumen CFL bulb, so this is exactly what I wanted.These bulbs are smart bulbs, so I set them up with Google Assistant. I already have other smart plugs that use the Smart Life app for setup, so I didn’t need to download an app.The bulbs begin to flash on and off within seconds of being turned on, indicating that they are ready for setup. The Smart Life app automatically detected the bulb and I was able to set them up with just one click. Note: If you have a dual band router, make sure your phone is connected to the 2.4 GHz bandwidth, else you won’t be able to set up the bulbs.Once the bulbs are set up on the Smart Life app, you will need to connect the Smart Life app to the Google Home app (unless it’s already connected because you have other devices). Once connected, the new bulbs will automatically show up in the Google Home app. You can assign rooms to each bulb and give them your favorite name so that you can ask Google to turn on specific bulbs if needed.I have uploaded 6 photos: 1) maximum brightness white light, 2) 50% brightness white light, 3) minimum brightness white light, 4-6) maximum brightness red, green and blue light respectively. I set the exposure of the photos to the same level, so the difference in the brightness you see is real. You can see that the is a wide range of brightness on white mode. The colored modes are, obviously and as expected, less bright but good enough for “mood-lighting” and minimal visibility at night as a night lamp. I do wish the white light brightness could do lower but I don’t think it’s a deal breaker by any means.I will highly recommend these bulbs. I hope they last long (I will update the review if the fail within a few months). From their build quality and performance till now, I expect them to be long lasting.

These work well and easily connect. They are bright and have vivid colors. The only downside is that they are bigger âblubsâ so they wonât fix in smaller fixtures.

What more can you ask for? In my case, the 5th try was the charm. I have purchased from the “well known name brand” smart bulb to the more popular “off brands”… four other kinds. 3 Stone Bulbs have everything I want: variable color, dimmable, bright, no huge complicated apps to clutter my phone but a nice easily connected Smart Life app which the Alexa skill seems to work perfectly with, and no hub required (although I do have a Zigbee hub).I’ve had the bulbs in daily use for about a month and they are all working well, staying connected, and plenty bright. Two of the bulbs are in use in outdoor fixtures, so I leave them on the bright yellowish tones and they have plenty of light where I need it most, when I need it most thanks to being able to turn them on before I even get home! Note: They are not installed in fixture that have direct weather exposure; they are under roof overhang but are being used nightly in outside non-fully-enclosed fixtures.The bulbs that are in use indoors, I’ve put on a multiple schedules (scenes). One is perfect as a hallway dim night light set to easy on the eyes purple. However, the same bulb also works great earlier in the evening as a normal bright white light that is in use most of the time after sundown. I’ve got another in a light fixture on a ceiling fan. This is SO nice because I can dim the light and change its color according to mood. That was not possible before as the fan and light fixture are both wired into a single light switch.I purchased a 4-pack for what I thought was a reasonable price, and it was. But currently as of the date of this review, the version I purchased is now 40% which is amazing deal for great smart bulbs. So, I’m getting more now as back-ups and maybe make more lights in my home smart too. I have not tried the newest 1050 lumen version of the bulb, but I would think that it works just as good!So far, a great product at a reasonable price in my opinion. I will update later if I start having any problems with the lights.

Primero, según se conecta a Alexa y si, Alexa lo reconoce pero cuando le pides a Alexa que encienda la bombilla, dice que no es compatible, por lo que terminas utilizándolo con la app del celular. Para la app del celular debes crear una cuenta, lo cual es molesto (solo quiero encender un foco para que piden tanto rollo). En mi caso, la bombilla duro alrededor de un año, ya no se puede sincronizar. Si se va la luz o se enciende desde el interruptor normal, se tiene que volver a vincular.

It’s very nice to have the flexibility to turn the lights up to 100% for lots of light, or anywhere down to close to nothing, and to be able to fine tune the light color as desired.Replaced bedside lights on a wi-fi switch with these so that I could dim them as well as turn them on and off. The ability to set the color temperature is a nice addition.Installation was fairly easy; I did find I had to turn the bulb on and off quickly a few times to get it to go into setup mode (fast blinking, not slow blinking), but that was the only installation wrinkle.Excellent value and perfect for my needs.

When run off their SmartLife app, these are really good bulbs. Problem is, SmartLife doesn’t run my other brands of bulbs, and it’s far from a complete voice assistant. Google Home and Alexa are needed, and they do an awful job.-Neither one can push the bulbs to their maximum warm/cold values, so you can’t mess with the bulb colors at all- Not unless you want to reopen SmartLife and manually set your dozen bulbs back to warm orange later.-SmartLife is supposed to have “scenes” you can use to cycle colors or automate color changes, but they only work if individually set; trying to set a bunch of bulbs in SmartLife or Alexa fails silently.-Both Google and Alexa only let you select from a few dozen preset colors, while the SmartLife app gives you the full 16 bit range. (Granted, you can still dim the bulbs with Google/Alexa… But it will reset them to white mode. Bye bye rainbow animations.)-Even the SmartLife app is limited to 8 color animations with slightly sharp transitions.So in the end? These capable smart bulbs are reduced to simple on/off/fade bulbs, unless you want to manually set a dozen of them every time.
