Delightfully delicious
While I canât compare to other brands because I donât usually drink protein drinks, well! This is delicious, Iâm now a fan. No after taste, not chalking, mixes well in my blender. I use Oat milk with it. Today, I mixed in with it a banana along with a piece of cantaloupe melon, few pieces of ice and WALA! A healthy refreshing drink. Tomorrow, Iâm going to add a little to my coffee, see how that tastes. Not only do they have a new customer but I would highly recommend as well.

Same great taste as the ready to drink Orgain shakes, but just grittier
If you love the ready to drink Orgain shakes, you’ll love the taste of this protein powder. It has the same vanilla taste you know and love.That said, this protein powder is a pain to mix (with milk, which is how I drink my protein shakes). I’ve tried multiple different protein shaker cups and blender bottles and none of them have been able to break up the powder. It always turns out gritty with chunks of dry powder you end up having to chew. Not enjoyable.I’ve found that plant based proteins are notoriously difficult to mix and more often than not end up gritty. This Orgain is better than most when it comes to mixability, but it’s still nothing compared to your run of the mill whey protein powder. If the gritty texture is something you’re worried about, you’re better off paying a premium and getting the ready to drink shakes from Orgain. Mixed with a smoothie in a blender, though, the grittiness is far less pronounced. That’s primarily how I’ve been using this powder, and for that it’s just fine.

Finally a protein powder without added sweetener!
I generally donât like sweet things and hate that most low sugar protein powders have artificial sweeteners. They taste so gross to me. But this protein powder is amazing! Tastes great. No weird aftertaste. Really smooth for a plant based powder. Bought chocolate and now ordering it in vanilla. So far itâs been great in smoothies, and oatmeal.

Good nutrition, not the best taste
The Orgain vanilla protein mix offers a unique flavor profile compared to other non-plant-based options and has a competitive amount of protein vs. other protein mixes. I mixed just one 34-gram scoop into 8oz of room temperature water. The mixability scores a solid 10/10, but mixing generates about 2 inches of “froth” on top and it makes it hard to get to the actual drink. At 10 grams of protein per scoop it matches up to non-organic competitors. The bag is unwieldy and messy trying to get the small scoop out. The bag reseals well as to mitigate any worry of early spoilage. The packaging says “vanilla flavored;” the short ingredient list just lists “organic natural flavor” as one of its flavoring ingredients. The taste was certainly not vanilla, and certainly wasn’t pleasing. Taste is ranked at 2/10. While the taste may be less pleasing than non-organic options I can definitely see this being used as one part of a multi-part health beverage. It just needs a little help in the flavor department. The Orgain vanilla protein mix is for you if you value a short ingredient list comprised of organic and plant-based sources with no stevia or artificial flavors or colors.

This is the first protein powder Iâve purchased, so not much experience to compare. Purchased for a âhealthierâ brownie recipe, which turned out delicious! I gave it a try in my coffee this morning and 1 scoop made a great mocha (not too sweet!). Will order again.

I'm mixing it in coffee and other things and it tends to mix very well. Particularly if you're using it in hot things, it mixes great.I do like the taste. I'm glad that it's organic and I'm happy with the amount of protein that it contains.Has a nice consistency and I would probably buy it again.
