Product helped with the healing of an open wound
When the powder comes out it is hard to direct, the package needs to be partially opened for the amount needed then poured onto the wound. There is no easy way to control the powder other than getting as close to the wound as possible, then pouring the powder directly onto the wound.

excellent product
I was skeptical when ordering this product. I am working with a pressure wound/ bed sore on my husbands heel. Bed sores are hard to deal with and we have been working with this for months. we are seeing a podiatrist for the wound care and he had suggested using collagen on the wound. Of course he was selling the collagen at $75 and no it was not covered by insurance. Checked amazon and saw the exact same product for $20 so I ordered it.We started using it. I cleaned the wound with saline solution, used medi-honey around the sore and then packed the collagen loosely into the wound and placed gauze pad over it then wrapped in gauze. I have been treating it this way for one week and I already see a difference. the wound is filling in and closing nicely. I would recommend this product as it has been a godsend for us.

Effective but Packaging Flaws
I’ve been using the Triple Helix Collagen Powder by MPM Medical for approximately 3 weeks now, and while it has its benefits, there are a few aspects that need improvement.Let’s address the elephant in the roomâthe PRICE. This collagen powder is undeniably expensive, and it’s disheartening to see even the tiniest grains go to waste. It’s so precious that to salvage every bit, I’ve resorted to spooning it over a tray to catch any stray particles that might drop or fly away from encountering the electrostatic field generated by the plastic film and the Tyvek like material peel-off backing. Considering the cost, it would be great if the packaging were redesigned to prevent such losses. Every bit counts!Speaking of packaging, this brings me to my next point. Several reviewers have expressed concerns about the packaging, and I agree with their sentiments. MPM Medical should consider switching to ESD anti-static pouches that are commonly used for electronic and medical powders to prevent fly away grains. These types of pouches are shielded creating a barrier that reduces electrostatic discharge, so spooning the precious powder will not result in waste. Now, onto the positive aspectâEFFECTIVENESS. Despite the price and packaging issues, I must acknowledge the positive impact of this collagen powder. I’ve noticed faster healing times, particularly with a persistent S4 pressure ulcer that exposed my mother’s coccyx. Although it remains in the same stage after 3 weeks of intermittent use, the wound is now showing signs of epithelialization. This gives me hope that with consistent daily use of this product, the wound will close up sooner rather than later. Nothing else I’ve tried (Hydrogel, MediHoney, Santyl, nanosilver gel, barrier cream, etc.) over the past 4.5 weeks has worked as quickly and effectively. I think mixing this product with MediHoney, saline, or collagenase ointment works best, but not individually.Update: Week 8, epithelialization has improved significantly. While the epidermis has not yet completely sealed, undermining has ceased and the muscle and dermal layers have fused and the diameter of the wound is diminished. I estimate another 6 weeks or so for the wound to be closed or close to it.In conclusion, the Triple Helix Collagen Powder is undeniably effective, but it comes with a hefty price tag and packaging concerns that need immediate attention. While the potential benefits, particularly in wound healing, are commendable, it’s essential for MPM Medical to address these issues to provide a more satisfactory, good value, and worthwhile experience for consumers.
