Excellent starter drone
I initially bought a cheaper sort of off-brand drone. I returned it almost immediately and bought the DJI mini 3 (fly more combo). This is a great little drone. Small enough to not require FAA registration. Capable of flying great distances due to frankly amazing battery life and respectable transmission range. It has a theoretical maximum range of 10 km but I’ve only had it out to 6-7 km and that was from a significantly elevated point. This drone is very easy to fly but it has the performance and subtlety of control that allows for some fairly acrobatic flying, though nothing like an fpv drone – the tilt angle is always going to be limited. Good camera quality and some “quick shots” features that allow one to take semi-automated video shots in different patterns. The DJI mini 3 does not have any obstacle avoidance feature which does come on the DJI mini 3 pro, for a little more. I have lost RC signal a number of times and each time it has obediently flown back on its own until signal returned and I could take control again. With the 3 batteries, each lasting easily over 30 minutes without cutting it close (30% or so still on the battery) and a recharge time of just over an hour per battery, you can fly this thing almost continuously. A really great drone for the money.

Great Beginner/Intermediate Drone
Drone flies great, and is really easy to control. It has a return to home function that even if your phone dies or somehow gets disconnected from the controller, the drone will return home. The only thing that could be better is the battery life. It only lasts about 30 minutes. Even with multiple batteries, I still feel that it would be troublesome. Otherwise a great drone and we really like it overall. Would buy for anyone that is interested in starting the hobby.

Flies smooth as silk
I fly drones commercially and this one is not my first, but it’s possibly one of my best.As the title hints, this thing flies so very well. The flight is very stable, the controls are snappy, and video feedback (in this case, through the Fly App) is practically in real time.I do have a few criticisms however. The battery life is a bit short compared to other similar drones. The way to charge the battery is a bit wonky, as you have to do so through the drone itself unless you have a dedicated charging bay that fits that battery (which you should anyway). And finally, the Fly App isn’t on the play store for Android. You have to get it from DJI’s website. This wouldn’t be much of a criticism, but it it’s place on the play store are a number of scam apps. These apps are expensive or require expensive subscriptions, and they don’t work.To DJI: please consider putting the Fly App on the Android play store before somebody pays a lot to brick his/her new drone.But overall, this is a good drone. I think professionals and hobbyists both will find it worth the money.

Mini 3 purchase
This thing is legit, I bought the neo last week and learned how to fly it but I wanted something with more flight time on a single battery. The Mini 3 flight time on the battery that comes with this is legit and I have been able to flight it way further and faster than my neo. The mini 3 also came 2 days sooner than expected that was super awesome since I was wanting to test it out right away. I would highly recommend this drone for beginners just at 13-14+ age and up itâs like a toy but a legit drone at the same time. This thing will not disappoint one bit!!

A couple problems
Unit has had multiple problems. First the gimbal would give a jammed error before first right occurred. Second the turning it on isn’t right and doesn’t always work. Third the app locks up in options screen all the time. Fourth the return to home will do crazy thinks like going straight up into obstacle’s when all it had to do is move five feet over to the left to land. It also doesn’t work in hilly terrain since there’s no proximity sensors. Does it fly great? Yes! But problems right out of the box have me sending it back

Great starter drone with plenty of awesome features
This drone was bought as a first time drone user. This drone is extremely easy to operate and has features that are better than a lot of higher priced drones. I would highly recommend. It is a lot of fun to operate and has a lot cool features. Once you fly this for the first you will be hooked. The quality of this drone and accessories is top notch. Great deal for the price. We have three “entry level” (Ascend, 4VRC) drones but I was looking to upgrade. We started droning in about 2021 when entry drones were about $50 at Costco. I noticed Costco had the DJI Mini 2 SE so I thought I’d try it out. As I was waiting for the order, this DJI Mini 3 went on sale (28% off) on Prime day so I bought it too.I tried out both these drones and wow – compared to entry level, these DJI drones are amazing! These two drones (DJI Mini 3 and DJI Mini 2 se) are more expensive, but these drones practically fly themselves when hovering and are about 20% the workload to fly and the pictures/videos are amazing. The camera and gimbal are excellent at keeping the screen on target, even in high wind.I decided to stick with the Mini 3 over the Mini 2 SE since it had a better camera sensor (4k vs 2.7k, better video in darker scenarios), better upwards looking (60 degrees vs 20, almost 80 degrees if the Mini 3 camera is flipped for my own obstacle avoidance) and better battery time. The Mini 3 is also slightly larger (easier to spot at longer ranges for visual line of sight) and the larger rotors make a lower pitch which make it less noisy, in my opinion.Note: the Remote Control works great with a Lenovo M10 Plus gen 3 (10 inch) tablet however I have to reboot the tablet to get it to connect to the RC – no biggie. The RC also works with a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and a TCN Ion Z cellphone ($50 but lags a bit) from Walmart.
