Surprisingly good ultra-wide camera, good value for money.
I was trying to setup security camera that will monitor narrow walkway on the side of the house, but because suitable spot for the camera is in the middle, big challenge for my setup is to monitor both left and right sides of the walkway. Initially I thought I would have to setup two separate cameras (one pointing left, and another pointing right), but this camera provides simple and clean single-camera solution. This camera has two separate wide view cameras covering full 180deg view, but two images are stitched into a single feed, making it a single logical camera. The stitching line (in the middle) is practically invisible.Unlike fisheye cameras (that can be used to achieve 180deg view) this camera provides good quality image across entire 180 view, also visual distortions are not too bad – straight walkway looks slightly curved, but image quality is perfectly usable, and resolution is good.Night vision is good as well, using built-in IR illuminator LEDs. The camera also has built-in white light that can be triggered (e.g. by motion), it is reasonably bright, and could be helpful.I’m using this camera with Blue Iris software, in ONVIF mode. Configuration is easy using free Reolink tool, easier to use and more convenient than typical WEB UI of a security camera, but WEB UI is provided as well.

Reolink has upped their game
I was a Reolink camera early adopter. The early cameras were 1080P and POE. I built my own DVR and had a nice little security system. As the years have gone by I have added pieces to my security system. First came the cameras outfitted with SD cards. This was a nice upgrade. Then they came out with the PTZ zoom cameras. These were nice too. 4K arrived and this was a game changer. The next improvement was motion detection and tracking. This with the 4K I thought was as good as you get. Then came the duo 2. This camera is without a doubt the best camera Reolink has ever made. It is just insane how good it is. The video quality of the side by side cameras in insanely good. The two images are stitched together to appear as one super high quality view. I replaced a camera I had covering the middle part of my back yard. It was a 1080P Reolink. Great camera that served me well. To say the duo is better is an understatement. It is better in every aspect and even more. First it has a full 180 degree view. I can see my entire back yard. The quality of the image is amazing. It has built in IR which lights up my whole back yard which is 40X60. If it detects motion the incandescent spotlights power on and it goes from the black and white infrared to full color. Again the whole back yard is viewable on the camera and in high quality. The advanced motion detection activates the internal SD card and also my DVR. It records in 4K H265 for small file sizes. The motion detection is night and day better than earlier models. Its smart motion detection can detect persons, dogs and vehicles. It is very accurate. No more false triggering the camera. I liked this camera so much I bought a second one with the built in spotlight for my front yard. My final thought is well done Reolink. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced security camera with high end quality and features you can’t go wrong with this camera.

Significant Improvement vs. Prior POE Cameras
Everything listed was in the box (even extra mounting screws/anchors), including a short cable for connection of the POE switch to the network modem. You must supply your own ethernet cable to the camera and your own POE switch (my old one died after about 8 years continuous service). Setup was a breeze – took 10 minutes (I had prior POE cameras so know the ropes). The only wrinkle was getting the SD card to seat in the slot. The slot is mounted a little deep in the case, so it is not possible to get the card to stay by pushing with the finger tip. I had to press it into place using the edge of a credit card. Other than that, no problem in setup. The camera even formatted the disk for me.My ethernet wire was already in place from a prior camera. Foolishly, I had let it hang out exposed to weather for > 1 year (under a porch roof) after I removed the old camera, which quit prematurely (it was NOT Reolink). The exposed copper wires in the RJ-45 jack were visibly corroded, so first try, the camera failed to connect. I then cleaned each wire carefully and individually with the edge of 400 grit sandpaper, then a tiny bit of vinegar brushed on with a stiff toothbrush; immediate, firm connection afterward. No problem with drops or disconnects. My particular wall mount was a bit challenging, as I had to drill into rough, irregular a stone-faced wall on the front of my house – covered by a porch roof – perfect to prevent sun shining directly into the lenses. There is some washout in areas of shadow under the roof when the sun is bright, but not too bad. Picture quality is quite good (certainly compared to my old camera), but I can’t say it appears to be 4K. The image stitching is perfect.Certainly, the picture quality is sufficient for my purposes. Given my situation, it is very unlikely that license plates will ever present themselves to the camera, so I don’t know if resolution is sufficient to read them. Individualizing all the settings – lighting, recording, and alarms – is straightforward and intuitive. The hardware is extremely well-designed and well made of quality materials to very close tolerances. Even the screws are high quality of stainless steel (a reliable sign of quality, in my experience) All-in-all, I am quite pleased with the Reolink POE Duo 2. Very good value for the price. The front of the camera (the black part) runs quite warm/hot. The website says this is normal. Since Reolink knows this and tells customers about it, I am hoping it does not make for premature failure. The duration of the warranty should permit operation through all ambient temperature conditions. In light of the overall quality, I am hoping for the best.

Good and wide view camera
The image quality is good. Setup with Frigate was not too difficult. However, the mechanical and wiring design can be a lot better. For the POE, there is no way to hide the wire. It is fully expose. So subtract one star for that

Nice picture, 180 degree coverage. Works excellent.
I like the picture, the mounting bracket seems sturdy enough. It might be nice to have some kind of cable management attached to the housing so the camera cable loop doesn’t move around. But it works great and it keeping an elementary school playground safe. Thanks!

Itâs an outstanding product that combines versatility, quality, and performance into one device, making it an easy favorite in my setup.Wide Coverage â Two Cameras in OneThe standout feature of this camera is its dual-lens 180° field of view. It effectively replaces two traditional cameras, allowing me to cover an entire side of my house with just one device. This not only saves money but also simplifies setup and maintenance.High-Quality Video and AudioThe video quality is excellent, delivering crisp and detailed footage day and night. The built-in floodlight is impressively bright, improving nighttime visibility and acting as a deterrent for potential intruders. The audio quality is equally impressiveâclear and reliable, which makes two-way communication easy when needed.Fast Playback and Reliable StorageWith an SD card, playback is fast and dependable. Reviewing footage is smooth and hassle-free, and I havenât experienced any lag or issues retrieving video. This reliability gives me peace of mind knowing I can quickly access recorded events if needed.Future Plans â Testing the Duo 3Iâm so impressed with the Duo 2 that Iâm planning to test the upcoming Reolink Duo 3 next. If itâs anything like the Duo 2, I expect it to be another game-changer.Final ThoughtsThe Reolink Duo 2 is an incredible piece of hardware. It offers unbeatable coverage, top-notch quality, and reliable performance, all in a single device. There is nothing I don’t like about this camera. Not big and conspicuous. Great auto lighting feature, IR and night vision. Clarity is good, angle of view is great. Push notifications are based on your individual needs.Person, pet and vehicle detection is great and immediately identifies the ‘alert’ type.Zooming (on screen) is great (to a point) and is very helpful during playback. The Playback indicates the points where motion is detected and easily navigates through all captured videos based on the stream length you choose. I like this product a lot and find it most helpful in monitoring my entire front, double garage driveway with entrance and adjoining neighbors (limit to the street area) beside and across my property.Excellent product. Considering upgrading to newer Duo models and possibly the much larger PTZ auto-track offerings.

The night Vision is amazing. Daytime is great to. Great value. Doesn’t rely on a cloud subscription. Can use up to 256GB Micro SD Card. Lots of settings to personalise it. Great wide angle cameras. Audio isn’t the best when a bit of wind or aircon sounds. But most are like that. You can take still short with it and great Timelapses. It’s Bestestimes. It’s my 3rd Reolink camera. Bought the wifi version of this 1st and then I bought the PoE Version and liked it more (more stable net), now I bought this one for a different location at home.
