Great camera and easy to use.
The set up was simple and quick and works great. The cell service at my pole barn is weak at best but the notifications come through quickly. If you’re trying to decide to purchase, I highly recommend.

See damn near everything
Perfect for our rental home security. Can see everything needed to keep an eye on the property while we are not there . Even when power is out , I can still see what’s happening.

Nice wilderness or remote option
Decided to pick this up on a whim to play with. This is my first tacatacam device, and it was prompted by my neighbor having a different model for campground security.Let’s start with the good:Camera is rugged, self contained, and mostly water resistant based on the seal locations and the snaps hold everything in place securely. There are some connections on the back that could be better, but they aren’t bad as long as you’re aware of what you’re using for accessories, and mounting location.Picture quality is indeed 4K, with nice video resolution with a good detection distance the IR Light works well and appears to cover the field of view appropriately. Can be used without a cellular connection, but you have to pull the SD card as you would with any other game/remote security camera. Getting connected to the cameras wifi isn’t bad as long as you read the directions and remember to turn off any VPN’s you might have on your phone. (Took me a solid 2 days to figure that one out, DOH)The not so great:There aren’t a lot of options for adjusting image settings and/or sensitivity, at least when connecting to the camera through it’s built in wifi. The Field of view is also not what I would expect for a security camera. Yes it has good detection distance, but the horizontal field of view is about 45-50 degrees as opposed to the 90plus that I’m used to dealing with. For what I had in mind, this is limiting, but it may not be for your use case. The range of motion on the installation mount is also pretty limiting as well.Overall it’s a nice robust unit for installing devices in remote areas as long as you have at least one cellular carrier in the area. You need to really think about your installation situation, you will not be able to look down the same wall that the device is mounted on, and it has that limited field of view so you may need more than one to cover things adequately. This really feels like they took the imaging system out of a game camera, repackaged it and called it a security camera.Disclosures:I have not paid for the cellular plan yet, there may be additional options available when accessing it that way that I am not aware of.I work with industrial security cameras with a lot of bells and whistles, and a much wider field of view, but everything is hardwired.I will likely be finding somewhere to deploy this with a cellular connection at some point, but it’s not going to meet what I had hoped to cover with it.Now to acquire one of their game cameras and give that a try.
some guy does not do reviews –
unable to make it work
Unable to make the unit function, super frustrating, zero support (wait online or on the phone for more than an hour – not going to happen) now to unwind all the cell monthly service, oh frigging joy…..

5 star security for my remote property
I’ve never had a good security camera option for my farm that is way off the beaten path, but my Defend camera has quickly changed that. An hour after I unboxed it and set it up (which was super simple), I had a truck that I didn’t know come down the driveway. I have the app notifications turned on and saw the notification, and I was able to meet him before he even got out of his truck. So far I’m very impressed with the quality of the camera, the photos are great, and the installation was very easy.

Just what I needed

No different from other tactacam
I have several of the reveal x. Just like all their other crap you’re forced to have all your cameras on the same photo plan so you pay more when you don’t need it and shouldn’t have to. If i want a basic plan on half my cameras i should be able to. The picture quality isn’t impressive. The mounting system is awkward and kinda cheap feeling. I used to use one of my reveal x cameras for the job this is doing and i see absolutely no benefit in spending $50 more for this.

Excellent camera, great quality, no wifi or power needed
Switching all my security cameras to these. Best part is when you lose power or wifi, you cameras are still working because they use cellular service. A+! Got 3 and will be adding more!
