Very pretty bird feeder!
I was contemplating this purchase for a long time and then finally ordered. It’s very pretty and it is tough. The glass is thick and the bottom and top holder are sturdy. I’ve had it now for a good few months. It’s easy to clean and put back together (screw top). I feel like squirrels tried to get to it but weren’t too successful. I’m sure they got some seeds from it. My only gripe and it’s not enough to take off a star, is that sometimes the seeds have caked up at the bottom when it’s rained. I feel like it drains well enough still that it’s not making the whole bottom cake up so therefore it’s only a very very minor concern. Like I said, it’s not enough for me to remove a star. I am very happy with my purchase and I’m sure this will last for years!

Adorable bird feeder
I love mason jars so naturally this bird feeder caught my eye. I love the blue tint to the glass and the simplicity of the design. All the plastic bird houses fade so badly in the sun I was happy to have one of glass and metal. The birds love it. It does get messy when you have to flip it over so I do that above my birdseed container to catch any dropped seeds. I do wish the hook on the top was slightly longer. I had to add an additional loop in order to get it onto my shepherds hooks without having to tip the bird feeder on its side. A simple S hook would fix this as well. I would still buy again and probably will because I love this design so much. Would recommend!

Filling the feeder is the challenge
This is a good feeder. Birds love it. The only negative I have is filling the feeder with seed. Once you fill the jar and turn the feeder back over, a lot of the seed fills the feeding area so it looks like itâs half filled. Otherwise, nice sturdy feeder. Wish it could be filled from the top. Needs more drain holes for the rainwater to drain.

Excellent feeder, with one minor weak point
Very pretty, and handles all sizes of feed very well. As someone else mentioned, the perch is attached to the base with a single pop rivet, not the strongest method, and both mine broke within 2 months. Since I have a rivet tool, it was a relatively simple repair, but I did have to drill out the holes a bit for the American-sized rivets. A small bolt, nut and washer would be a better fix, and what Iâll do the next time.To keep squirrels off, I hang my feeders with very thin stainless steel wire fishing leader. They canât cut it or climb down it, and if you locate it properly they canât jump to it.

LOVE the look of a Mason Jar….the function/design….not so much….
I love the feeder for the looks of it and because our birds LOVE it! We have it hung under the soffit of the house so we don’t experience as much of the issue with the rain clumping the seed, etc as others have said.HOWEVER, as many other reviewers have mentioned, it is quite a hassle to fill. You can fill the jar itself up but once you screw the bottom part on and turn it over, a LOT of the seed is poured immediately into the feeding ports so that the feeder is never “full” of seed. My husband (who is our resident bird feeder filler!) really, really doesn’t like the design. It is also very heavy as it is glass and when filled with seed is even heavier. So, while I love the design and love how much our birds seem to like this feeder (they took to it immediately and kept coming back and looking for it when we broke the jar part due to poor hanging technique and had to order a 2nd one), we probably won’t order it again once this one is no longer viable. Just too difficult to fill and too much wasted seed.Note to Manufacturer: My husband came up with a great solution; there should be a hole cut in the glass at the “top” of the feeder which is the bottom of the “jar” and plugged with one of those rubber stoppers as in salt shakers or piggy banks. Then, you could fill this feeder from the top and avoid all of the mess and waste! Hole wouldn’t have to be huge but big enough to insert a funnel to fill with seed. Great idea! Just thought we would pass than along.

It’s great!
I blame myself for this but… The squirrels get into this super easy and of course… I just take pictures of them. The birds eat out of it too, so there’s enough left for them which is nice but still. I blame myself for putting it near the house so the squirrels can easily get to it. Seriously though? Pretty nice! I like out it looks, I like how it puts together and cleaning it was super easy. No inconvenience. :DSo yeah, super sturdy because the squirrels will sit on it and eat and it hasn’t fallen apart. I’m just thankful that they leave some for the birds once the clean the entire thing out. Apparently you can put hot pepper spices in with the bird food that will deter the squirrels but it won’t bother the birds. I’m going to try that this next time I refill the feeder. Should work fine, but if it doesn’t it it’s okay. I kinda like the squirrels. 😀 ^^ XD

The birds love it!
This is the best bird feeder. Itâs big enough for several birds to be on it at the same time and the perch is a good size. We have 3 of these.

Beautiful and durable – these caught my attention because theyâre plastic-free and not tacky like so many other bird feeders. My only complaint is that I have to refill them every day or two, but thatâs arguably more to do with the greediness of the birds in my neighbourhood than anything ð

and my in-laws love it too. An awesome good quality feeder and a real eye pleaser.
