Quick setup, good performance
This was quick to set up. After plugging it in, I could log in and customize the SSID. The LAN ports operate at 1Gb/s, and my tests transferred over 900Mb/s. The wifi collection was strong throughout the house. Close to the router, I got over 400Mb/s on my Wifi 6 devices. I don’t have any Wifi 7 devices to test, but this will give me some future proofing when I do.

Struggles with speed
Got this to fix a dead zone but realized a few short comings:1. It can only be operated in Router or AP mode. No repeater mode. AP mode needs you to hard wire the unit so that will be more restricted than the Repeater mode.2. Once I did hook it up, noticed the multigig internet being fed into it was getting throttled big time. Can put in some outside corner for extra connectivity but as a main router, definitely not.

I have recently upgraded to the fastest internet speeds I can get 1000mbs and for the first few weeks I realised little had changed. I was still having speed issues on my mobile and tablets. Now Im not very tech savvy and hadnt realised the router that comes with my internet provider is a little rubbish.I could get the speed I was paying for on my pc (which is plugged into the router via Ethernet) but not even close on wifi devices. This is a big issue for my home sound system which uses wifi. Especially when a few friends come over (and when I most need my system to work) as all the devices start connecting.I was lucky enough in claiming this Cudy Dual Band BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 Router to instal and test and WOW.Unknown to me was the limitation on my previous router for wifi speeds. This thing is a beast and now all my devices talk to each other incredibly fast. I can browse with zero slow down and IM over the moon.Set up was straight forward, I just change my main router to modem mode, ran cable to this and ran through the setup guide. Im impressed I worked this out as I was worried I was gonna break everything. Its also a bit of a crazy looking thing⦠definitely has a unique appearance and I quite like it. (Although I think black would have looked a little cooler)Signal is strong everywhere. Vastly stronger than before. Very happy

This product was sent to me for review, as part of Amazon Vine. The following is my own real-world experience of using it.I was particularly interested in it, because I have been having to use a WiFi mesh kit, in order to resolve ‘dead zones’ caused by my ISP’s router (which is quite old). The WiFi 7 technology was a draw as well – I use a handheld gaming console that would really benefit from the newer standard. That being said, I found the Cudy very easy to set up (I already had my ISP’s router set to ‘modem mode’, so I just had to reboot it, and connect the Cudy to its WAN port). The included instruction manuals are very clear, walking you through the process with simple language and useful illustrations. Once the network was active, I was able to change its security details to my liking, and merge the 2.4ghz and 5ghz band networks, via the Cudy app. Again, the app has an extremely user-friendly layout, which means it is easy to make changes, as and when it is needed. To get a good idea of the router’s range, I tested the WiFi speed in every corner of my house, especially one which I know for certain was a dead zone (the upstairs of the property seems to have thick walls, potentially used for insulation of an old water storage tank). I was very pleased to find that I received consistent speeds throughout (up to the maximum 270mbps download provided by my ISP), and did not experience a drop out anywhere. Latency appeared to be fairly low, as well. All in all, the Cudy is an excellent bit of kit – I have been able to replace my 4 mesh units, all of which require desktop space and electrical sockets. Now I am left with just the very clean and tidy looking Cudy instead. Highly recommended!
