Meant for a cat, colonized by a possum
Good size with just enough surrounding bolster to make it cozy. Just ask the possum, who’s moved right in. Sigh. It would have been perfect for the cat.

Warms up quickly
It does just what it’s advertised to do. It only heats up when and where my dog lays on it. I feel more comfortable with it constantly being plugged in because it’s not like a space heater that might overheat and catch fire. The middle pad cover is soft enough but more wool-like than I’d prefer. Maybe that’s so it doesn’t carry heat further than where the dog lays on it. The brown pillowy sides are plasticky fabric yet plush enough to hold my dogs head up. I bought a medium which is plenty room to spread out for my 20lb Boston Terrier. It’d be big enough for 2 cuddling Boston’s. The cord is thick and somewhat protected by a metal spring the length of it but you still need keep watch for a dog that chews cords. The cord is not very long. So far I’ve only used this indoors. Overall, I like it.

Seems very good for outside use
I purchased this for my senior indoor cat. I wanted to buy her something warm to relieve joint pain as she gets older. She really likes this bed. I found the instructions a little hard to understand – I didn’t really get how you inflate it and then stop heating it up. I assumed you simply plugged it in and left it for a while. Make sure you read the instructions thoroughly!!! You don’t want to injure your pet or risk damaging the electric components. Thankfully, my cat enjoys it even if it isn’t warmed up. The brown outer layer is a very thick, sturdy material. It’s not very soft but it’s water and vomit resistant, as I’ve learned from experience. It’s a really good bed. The cushion is really soft and my cat’s very happy with it!

Solid outdoor heating bed. Well constructed and the cats accepted it quickly. Not for constant weather exposure. Our outdoor cats sleep in our pump house with a heat lamp and we put them in there. Good product

Problems
The cover for the heating element comes off way to easy. My dogs have the cover balled up with the heating element exposed in a few minutes. My wife is going to make a new cover that zips closed which should correct that problem. My dogs bring stuff in from outside like walnut shells, rocks, sticks, etc. and they wind up under the heating element. Its a mess that has to be cleaned up several times a day. We have two of these items, one of which is in our bedroom. That one stays pretty clean and the cover stays on it most of the time. The heating part of the unit is good for us. We have cold winters and a drafty house. The dogs huddle together and stay warm. It doesn’t get overly hot, and doesn’t heat at all when no dogs are on it.

This heated pet bed is probably the best Amazon purchase we’ve ever made. If I could give it more stars I would. We have a cat who insists on living outside, so we built him a little house on our back porch. As soon as we replaced the old bed with this one our beloved outdoor cat stretched out on it and now sleeps, purring in his house, about 20 hours a day. I’ve never seen him so happy. It’s softer and clearly more comfortable than any bed any of any our cats have ever had. It’s designed for outdoor use, is washable and had a soft bumper around the edge that is perfect for resting a cat head on. It’s perfect.

My beloved kitty is 14 years old. He loves heat and gravitates to wherever he finds it. I decided he should have a heated bed and this one looked to be best thought through and designed. I liked the idea that this bed would never get over heated but instead would work with his body heat. I tested it with my hand just as described in the info that came with it and it worked just as described – gentle, but definite heat. I placed it next to his favorite resting bed in a quiet room and encouraged him to step on it, which he did. It did make a little crinkly noise and he didnât take to it right off. After a couple days, I decided to place a small plush infant blanket over it that would cover the bolsters too, then encouraged him to step on it again. I stayed around to keep him company, and he soon payed down, stretched out and settled in. He uses it every day now and itâs his new âgo toâ reliable napping spot. He uses the now covered bolster for his head like a little pillow. Itâs in a quiet, coolish room in the house, but close to where he can hear us and see birds in the feeder outside. Iâm glad he now has something warm and reliable to provide consistent resting comfort as he continues to age.

Nice product. Very well made.Take no notice of the people who say it doesn’t get warm enough. If it got warmer, your cat would overheat and not use the bed.It works by trapping the heat between the bed and your cat, so when you feel the bed it is barely warm. Put a pillow on it and after a short while put your hand between the pillow and the bed. Nice and warm.

My older dog loves this bed. She has joint issues now but the heating pad helps keep her comfy in the cooler weather after being outside. It takes up a bit of room in the spare room but totally worth it to see it being used regularly by one of our three dogs..
