Used for an unusual purpose
Most, if not all, vehicle purposed infrared cameras have insufficient mounts that are typically designed to be placed right in the path of a parking lot crash, the front license plate. I wanted to adapt mine to be used via a GoPro mount (see photo).After purchasing the flat surface (a”Action 2 magnetic adapter”, a GoPro mount gotten from Amazon, and double taping the camera to it, tethering the camera to the mount and the mount to the vehicle (that last tether, to the vehicle, isn’t shown in the photo), I was set to test it out feeling that, even if the mount failed to hold the tethers would serve as a safety net.After making sure the mount and the van surface was alcohol clean, I configured the Telesin magnetic mount so that its frontal area was reduced (VERY quick and easy to do with this mount) and tested it up to 75 mph on the hood of my van, about 2 feet from the front windshield on a clear day with 15 mph northernly winds. It was rock solid and didn’t move, even when my van was purposely riding over some potholed sections of road.The camera is about 1 inch square and weighs about 1-1/2 ounces so this really wasn’t a test for a GoPro camera but, for a hood mount, I’d guess that it’d be totally okay at least up to 55 mph even though the vendor doesn’t advise taking it past 35 mph. For me, though, it’s perfect.It’s a very well constructed mount along the build lines of the famous Ram mounts, though smaller. Ram, though a lot more expensive, has a true lifetime guarantee and you never have to mail the broken item to them as a photo is enough (I’ve used their guarantees twice and they work). But, for this price and my purpose, it’s perfect…so far. 😉

Ordered to use for everyday driving. The quality is higher than expected. The multiple mounting points is a great addition. Used this on one of my harsher cars to drive. Going through stop and go traffic, construction, vibrations of all sort did not move. Gripped my phone perfectly fine. The performance of the mount is by far superior of any that are more expensive.

Lo compré porque se supone que soporta un insta x3. Durante mi trayecto de 3 hrs se me despegó del parabrisas unas 3-4 veces. Ahora tengo que ver si puedo aplicar garantÃa de mi Insta x3 ya que se dañó un poco el lente.

I used this in the car when on holidays and use it regularly inside an airplane, so it gets warm and bumpy at times, with my GoPro Hero 12 and it stays in place really well, the fact that the arm can be positioned freely is a great bonus as you can get some very interesting shooting angles. I did not try it yet with anything heavier personally, however for action cam this is a no brainer.
