almost 3 years later, still working perfectly.
TLDR: buy this light bulb if you need a workaround for old wiring issues or if you just want the convenience of a remote controlled bulb.I used this to convert the light over our sink, that shared a switch with the ceiling fan in the kitchen. The original light was a recessed can-style with a screw-in bulb. I put the GE C remote controlled bulb in a pendant fixture and now I can have the ceiling fan running without the over-sink light constantly left on.BTW, none of this took an electrician….there is a specific pendant fixture that functions like a screw in bulb which is what I used – also found right here on Amazon. Super cost-efficient way to solve what would have required an electrician to add another circuit and switch to our kitchen. just search for “Recessed Light Conversion Kit” or “Instant Pendant Light” and you should find the fixture. Complete by adding a glass shade of your choosing.I do not use the app for this at all, other than the initial setup. I strictly use the little remote, which lives on the kitchen windowsill. The initial setup was a bit frustrating, but I worked through it. I also got a dud the first time and had to send it back. The replacement will be in the light for 3 years in July of 2024 and the only thing I’ve had to do is replace the flat battery in the remote after about 2 years.

This thing is awesome.
This really solves a lot of issues if you have an old house and want to upgrade lighting on a budget. Yes, you need to have a little bit of tech experience but ask your kid or grandkid to set it up. Itâs amazing once setup and I am so thrilled!

They work for about a week
I have 2 bulbs with 2 remotes⦠Good idea, but bad execution. They constantly disconnect, (4x in a month) so I have to reset them, remove them from the App and then reinstall everything. Iâll be going to Home Depot tomorrow to find a lower Wattage, non adjustable bulbs.

Difficult app
Difficult appIf you just want some lightbulbs to control from a remote, these are not the ones. Too complicated. App was difficult to use.
