Nice surprise, these work great!
I bought based on feedback about the chipset and compatibility. These are inexpensive and I use primarily for 2 uses:1. Monitor power use like a kill-a-watt. It’s reasonably accurate the they have been 100% reliable. I use on our sump pump and dehumidifier, so I can see a history of how much they are running.2. Can be set on a customizable timer or schedule. We set the lamps on a timer when we’re away from home.Setup was pretty simple. I am only using with the Smarthome Android app, which works well. They reliably reconnect any time we move them or there is a power outage.

Does NOT calculate actual usage in $$’s
Good device.Instantly auto-recognized by the SmartLife phone app; which immediately/quickly installed it, when prompted.SmartLife also installed the power-monitoring screens, no prob.Expected, from the Desc., but disappointed that the folks didn’t add the simple auto-calculation of actual $$ expense/usage that would be enabled by entering the charge per KW hr charged by the utility provider. Also discovered that, despite five ‘timing’ screens being provided in the app, that simple On/Off timers, with slide switches for enabling On & Off settings separately, is not configured (as in the SmartLife, Gosund, and SmartThings [Samsung] apps). Instead, the Timer screens are configured as Start and End time settings; which, I discovered, is not the same thing. Seen this (limitation) in a couple of other SmartHome apps (that I’ve not named, in this Review).Just now, installed the actual Topgreener phone app/will update this review if additional functionality/missing features is/are obtained by the company’s own app vs SmartLife.I like controlling as many of my SmartHome devices as possible by/from a single app; and SmartLife is a VERY capable one -W/O all the *##%* incredibly aggressive advertising contained in the Gosund ph app, which I was previously using; and ended up deleting, as the advertising became increasingly invasive, month by month; eventually even taking over the entire screen of my phone for the ads – even when the app wasn’t in actual use!!!Which was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and finally made me uninstall the Gosund app. Took me over seven hours to replicate all the entries & programming, for my almost 40 SmartHome devices, in the SmartLife app; which had been the reason I had been putting up with the ever-increasing ad load from the Gosund app – for so long.Recommended.Update: The Topgreener app enables one nifty function that I couldn’t turn On (by software slider switch) with the SmartLife app – the ‘Inching’ screen, under Timers. This enables setting a time duration between switching a device On/Off successively/repeatedly. I actually have this function enabled by simple motor-drive mechanical timers for my (many) fan sets; that I use to circulate air around my 3500 sq.’ shop. Handy to know that I can now use a SmartHome switch to (easily) do so, via this Inching function. Currently, I have the mechanical timers set for half-hour On/half-hour Off, 24/7 (to save on power usage/expense); but, also, each plugged into a Gosund smart switch (despite my learning to hate their app [strictly for the ads – otherwise, very capable]… the devices, themselves, ARE robust/reliable, and competitively priced), for longer and/or programmed ON/Off periods. To duplicate the Inching function via a regular/Gosund smart switch, I’d need to enter 12 On times, and 12 Off times; which is exactly why I use the mechanical timers (that, and the fact that I have/had many of them already sitting in a bin, in-house).Next four-set of smart switches I order (currently have 4 Gosund 10A units on-tap/avail/spare), I think I’ll go with the Topgreeners; which are very reasonable/competitive in price, plus offer the advantage of the power monitoring, and a 15A current rating.Again… Recommended.

Great Smart Outlet with Wifi Monitoring
Outlet is very easy to setup and I’ve used many different brands before. Literally takes about 1 minute to add and name the device with bluetooth and wifi. Another brand I used that was similar discontinued the energy monitoring part of the outlet due to chip shortages. Tried this brand in its place and worked great.I used the Smart Life app to monitor both sets of outlets. Is great to use not only for wifi controller but monitoring power. Highly recommended. My only complaint is the internal wifi is ok but not great as far as reception. They can be sensitive to barriers / furniture in the way. However this is pretty common across the board for all smart outlets. And no its not my wifi, I work in IT and have a very nice wireless AP.

Excellent for energy monitoring and remote control
I had low expectations for these little guys seeing as they were quite a bit cheaper than comprable watt meters with a LED readout. But the ability to connect to Wi-Fi seemed convenient so I decided to give it a try. They’ve easily exceed any expectations and I might even buy a few more. The only issue was set-up was a bit challenging, at least for me. It took probably 10-15 minutes and several tries but eventually I got it to work with the app. I had better luck with the “alternate pairing method” or whatever it’s called so you might want to try that right off the bat. Also I think I may have erred by plugging them in before I was ready to pair, you may want to wait until you have the app ready to do that. The biggest pleasant surprise was the quality of the app. (You need to have the app to get any use out of this product.) I’ve used a bunch of cheaply made companion apps but this was definitely not one of them. It works very smoothly and the UI is great. It’s a bit annoying that you have to create a free account with TOPGREENER to use it but I guess that should be expected these days. It prompts you to share your location but you don’t need to do this for it to work. Once set up the app makes it very easy to toggle the power of your plugs, as well as view the current and historical power consumption. If you unplug the units they immediately reconnect to the app when you plug them in again so no worries there. One last thing, I noticed someone here was alarmed that the watts on the readout don’t equal volts * amps. That’s because this formula doesn’t hold true for alternating current. I can’t comment on the accuracy of the wattage figures (which are shown to the nearest 0.1 watts) but they seem to be reasonable.EDIT: Had a space heater (1300 watts) running through the plug for about an hour and when I disconnected it the unit was noticeably warm. I don’t think it was a fire risk or anything but just something you might want to be aware of, especially for even higher-wattage appliances.
