For centuries chia seeds were used as a staple food alongside corn and beans by the ancient Aztecs, Incans and Mayans. Known as the running food, they would eat this high energy endurance food mixed with water as they ran from the Colorado River to the Pacific Ocean to trade products. Chia seed has the unique ability to absorb up to 12 times its weight in water. This ability to hold water can prolong hydration and retain electrolytes in body fluids, especially during periods of extreme physical exertion. Loaded wit an abundance of nutrients such as calcium, protein, anti-oxidants and dietary fiber, chia protein also contains all of the essential Amino Acids to provide a nutritional punch!

    Awesome stuff!
I absolutely love this. It’s great to keep on hand in your go bags. It’s also perfect to add some protein to your shakes and smoothies. I add some to a blender with a flavored pack of oatmeal and milk with a splash of honey awesome way to start your day!

This thickens nicely into a gel form
I like the powder better than the seeds, easier to digest. Good product.

Good, if you have a really powerful blender
These taste great, and are very chewy, but you need an extremely powerful blender, or they’ll really clump up. They’re not something that you can easily mix. I learned that chia seeds absorb up to 12 times their weight in water, and they’re a natural thickener, too. This makes them great for soups, and if your protein shake is too watery and you want it to be really thick. But, like I said, these get really clumpy unless you really mix them up really well, and for that you need a ton of high speed mixing power. If you get them to mix, then they’re great. Also, these are really dense, so 8 ounces of this really isn’t very much, compared to other powders. I’ve been using only a little tiny bit at a time so that I don’t accidentally use the whole thing up one day.I use them in my protein powder shakes, but like I said, I have to blend this a ton longer than when I’m not using it, otherwise I get weird clumps.

    I Would Re-order This!!
I really like this product. It works as intended. I know some reviewers complain about the amount… 8oz and that it takes 2Tbs for 5g of protein… I don’t know anyone who uses Chia powder as their main source of protein. Think of it as supplementing/adding to your protein source. I also don’t use it daily, it would run out very quickly if you did. It is VERY useful as a binder and thickener. It might be useful to look up uses for Chia powder. Also there are 3 blenders in my household, a GNC brand, a magic bullet, and a nutribullet. (Right now I cannot see paying for a $300-500 blender!)They blend the Chia powder just fine. As to taste… I think your palate needs to adjust to the texture and taste just like most nutritional supplements, such as green powders or protein powders. Most of us who are changing or have changed our health/diet, habits/lifestyles know that not everything is going be like it was before this change. Just make the most of it. Make it work. You’ll be better off for it. GOOD VIBES TO ALL!

    Recommend
I’m not sure what the complaints are about. The texture is fine to me, I add it to my protein shakes even to my cereal.Never expected it to dissolve but it is pretty granular and edible. No taste to me but I have never eaten it by itself.Great product will def continue buying.

    Great protein subsitute
If using in baking muffins and cakes, must use more water to have a light consistency to resemble eggs. For those that are egg intolerant, it is a life saver. The muffins will have a different consistency but it works and tastes great.

Love the fine grind! Will be a staple in this house
Blends into smoothies great. I like that its pretty fine grind, not gritty when I drink. Makes chia pudding instantly. No needing to sit and wait an hour, no seeds in your teeth. Throw a scoop in a cup of almond milk, sweeten, add whatever else, blend and you have pudding in about 3 minutes.
