The SmartPlug Combo Kit includes both a 50A 125V/250V inlet connector and a retro-fit connector. This Kit has been designed so it can be used with 3-wires (125V) or 4-wires (250V). The retro-fit connector is designed to use your current cord set. You simply cut off the cord plug on your RV/Boat cord. The connector has mechanical cord restraint, color-coded wire guides, and a water-resistant cord seal. The inlets are available in stainless steel and three non-metallic colors, (White, Black or Gray), of high performance/flame resistant material. Increased pin and clip surface area greatly improves electrical conductivity during high amperage demand. No twist required, the unique plug body shape and push-in design mean it only goes in the right way every time – even in the dark! Side clips and inlet cover lock the plug body securely into the inlet which eliminates any stress on the electrical components by the movement of the power cord. Multi-fin silicone gaskets installed in the inlet cover and the plug body eliminates moisture penetration. Inlet mounting flange holes match twist-type holes for an installation that is typically finished in 30 minutes.

A must have for any RV
We have a 5th wheel with 50 amp service and found it very difficult to use the traditional twist on plug on the electric cord. I saw this product on YouTube and it is great. So much easier to use, just push the sides in or out when plugging or unplugging, that’s it. The connections are much tighter, reducing the risk of the melting/fire. I wish that RV manufacturers would install this type of plug to begin with. Highly recommend. The installation takes a few minutes, but it’s not as intimidating as it seems.

Much improved design
The Smart Plug is so much better design than the original twist/lock 50 amp plug that came with my motor home. It easily connects and disconnects, and is designed so the weight of the cord is not pulling down on the prongs. This should be a standard connection for all RVs.I canât comment on the ease of installing, because my daughter-in-law electrician did it for me. But she didnât seem too frustrated with it.

easy install
Best decision I ever made, changing out that old style twist plug to a smart plug. So simple and easy, just push it in and your ready to go. Install was straight forward, with easy to understand instructions.

5 star hopes, 3 star product
I had high hopes for this product and really wanted to love it. I was sick of dealing with the twist type connector and lock ring in my 5th wheel so I ponied up the $205 for this setup, which is about double to cost of a quality twist inlet and plug. First, the advertisement videos talk about a LED on the inlet to let you know there is power going in. This feature is missing, but isnât a huge deal. They also advertise that the inlet cover locks on the plug in two places to keep it secure. This feature is absent and is a bigger deal in my mind, which would have dropped my review to 4 stars. It ended up with 3 stars because the inlet cover chipped on one of the edges during installation. It wasnât dropped or mishandled, just poor quality plastic. I donât think it will compromise the weather seal, itâs just an eye sore that shouldnât have happened on a brand new product that costs this much.

Product writings like a charm. Feels nice and sturdy.
Bought this to replace the 50 amp twist lock that never worked properly. The locking ring broke and the whole mechanism was very touchy. The loose fitting of the twist lock increased the chance of fire due to the decreased contact area of the conductors. The Smart Plug solved all of that problem.Main suggestion is to use soapy water on installation–not just soap. Will save you much physical exertion.

Super easy to install, makes hooking up the trailer to shore power much easier and safer. Would not run a trailer without one.
