Not the same
This was our second time ordering this spirulina and the first time it had a deep, dark green color, but this time it had more of a brownish color and smelled almost sweet like it was mixed with cocoa powder or something? I used it in my morning smoothie that I make everyday and it always has the exact same ingredients so I know what it should taste like and today it had a chemical taste. I took two sips and had to dump it out. Hoping whatever the weird chemical taste was in it doesn’t make me sick! The bag of this batch was also defective and the zipper closure doesn’t work. All around I would say this was a bad batch and the chemical taste and off color was very off putting. Won’t be purchasing this again.

Light brown color
I bought this spirulina powder for my sister in another country. She expected to receive a green color powder but when she opened the bag it was a light brown color not green. I never bought spirulina powder before so idonât know if this is normal, but i read that spirulina supposed to ne green color and this green color is one of its benefits. Very disappointed. I searched very hard to get my sister the best spirulina powderbut I donât know if this is real spirulina . My sister said it smells like cacao powder

Need to Add to Sweetened Shake but Wow, the Energy> Turkey makes you sleepy. Plants make you happy.As to this specific Spirulina, I Tablespoon mixes easily in a shake/smoothie.Does it turn your shake dark green like deep sea algae? Yup.Can you taste it? Nope. IF~ you mix with a sweetened protein powder.Despite ‘SB Organics’ name, it does not pretend this is Organic.I mean how would algae from the ocean be ‘USDA Organic’?It is “Organic” by definition bc was grown in nature but no clever page wording.Wins in my book that it’s Sustainable.’SB Organics’ page appears pretty transparent.Plus grown & packaged in the US.My only caveat is, a 1lb bag, is 150 servings.That’s a lot if you just do a smoothie @ day, even 2.If you’re adding to food like page suggests, maybe it’s more attainable but then you’d taste it too.Personally, I’d like a smaller pkg option, even if it costs a little more.Just over Apocalyptic sized packaging.If the world runs out of spirulina, something else will come along. 3.8.22~ Adding Spirulina to my morning shake for a serotonin boost.Turns out Spirulina is crazy high in Tryptophan which ironically chills your crazy.Why tryptophan? Bc it makes your brain happy by boosting serotonin.Wanna hear something even crazier?Plant-based foods like greens & legumes have more tryptophan than turkey.Whaaa..?? <

That makes it easy to add to smoothies or hide in other foods. After trying to just mix the powder with orange juice, I realize why smoothies are suggested. It does not just mix very easily although the mix is drinkable. Being able to add the powder into a blender is a much better option.The powder arrived in a resealable bag. It is made in the USA.

Could Be BEST but questions
This could be the best-tasting spirulina I have ever had, meaning it doesn’t taste as strong as most. The nutritional values seem a little above my usual less expensive brand.I do have a couple of concerns. It says it is “certified organic by control union certifications.” I don’t know what that is. Usually, items are certified organic by USDA. Secondly, it says “we cultivate our spirulina from the clean flowing waters of California.”Unfortunately, 95% of California’s rivers, lakes, bays, and wetlands are plagued by pesticides, metals, pathogens, trash, and sediment, making it unsafe to swim, fish, or drink. I’m not sure my state is the best place to grow spirulina.Tastes good though.
