Bright and easy to use
These work well and get very bright. More than enough to light up my room. In fact I usually donât turn the brightness up more than 50% unless Iâm doing something where more light is useful.These were easy to install (itâs like any normal light bulb) and set up. I will note that these are picky and wonât connect to 5Ghz WiFi. These will also connect to your phone via Bluetooth in the app, without the need to be connected to WiFi.I enjoy the ability to adjust the color temperature, brightness, and sometimes the color for fun. Using these with the app or Alexa is pretty smooth as well. The app is well built too. Iâve been using Govee products for years and have zero complaints about the app.The only thing that bothers me is the lack of being able to use the physical light switch. I know Govee offers buttons and switches and I might give one of those products a try at some point. For now I either ask Alexa or if I want to turn them on and donât feel like talking Iâll just flick the light switch off and on. They will turn on after a second or two and whatever they were set to last is preserved.I guess one other thing that bothers me (very little) is the latency between changing a setting and the bulb(s) taking effect. It is likely just my internet connection and it varies quite a bit from half a second to 5 seconds at worst, but rarely that bad.I should also note that the two bulbs function completely independently of each other, but can easily be put in a group in the app (and I think on Alexa if thatâs more your thing) to function as one. They do occasionally get a bit out of sync when you change the color/brightness/on/off using the group – if you turn off the group, one might turn off and then the other will turn off a second or two later. It doesnât bother me at all though.Overall good product that works without issues.

I absolutely love the brightness on these vs the Amazon Basic Smart Bulb (not that theyâre bad I just like brighter lights and more saturation in color). I was very impressed by these. Easy setup, bright colors and lights. Cool syncing for music or making your own light shows. Highly recommend these and theyâre not that expensive.

Glad I made the switchOverall I am definitely moving towards just using Govee. I feel like even if the price was the same, they offer so much more customization options. And it’s really hard to turn down a 100 dollar price difference…If you’re on the fence, I would try them. For smart devices, there’s some really good value-per-dollar here.
I already had two Philips Hue 800 lumen color bulbs. Lately, I’d been disappointed with the brightness of these devices. At 800 lumens, the room can’t ever really get “bright”. For my office area this was getting frustrating, so I started reviewing options.After being super impressed with the Govee wall-mounted LED strips/diffuser, I decided to check out their bulbs compared to sticking with my old Philips Hue bulbs. Here’s the breakdown:Brightness:- The Philips Hue 4 pack I found that can still do colors had 1100 lumens. Certainly an upgrade from 800.- The Govee pack here does 1200. Even better.Cost:- The Philips Hue bulbs are 179.99 for a 4 pack, and require the Philips Hue bridge to work fully if you don’t already have one- The Govee bulb 4 pack here is 79.99 at the time of writing, with no additional accessories needed. Since I already have a Hue bridge, this is an instant 100 dollar savings.Ease of first time setup:- Pretty much equal here, neither are difficult to setup.App:- The Philips Hue app is much cleaner looking (feels very “enterprise”) but holy cow does it limit your ability to tinker with the lights. I feel like if you don’t like the included 10-20 scenes they have, then you’ll be dealing with third-party apps to get what you want, or manually making scenes.- The Govee app is less clean, and can be a bit difficult to navigate at first. HOWEVER, it’s an ocean deep with what you can customize. There are hundreds of pre-made scenes, and you can use cool scenes other people have made. I really enjoy the ability to tinker and get into the finite details of the light settings. It’s better to have a bunch of options you’ll probably never use, as opposed to missing even one or two options you WISH you could use.Google Home integration:- The Philips Hue bulbs are very frustrating to deal with here. You can’t use the Philips Hue app scenes with Google Home very well. In my experience, you’re better off with going the third-party route and creating the scenes within Google Home, which it’s definitely not optimized for. Very disappointing, and part of the reason I looked for alternatives.- The Govee ecosystem seems a bit different, but works. You create a “tap-to-run” routine in the Govee app (where it’s much easier to get your color scene right where you want it) and then I just tell my speaker “Hey Google, run

The software is why I buy these products; they consistently offer good-looking products at a reasonable price. But the most underrated thing about Govee is how well the software works. They pair to the Wi-Fi seamlessly, and the app makes them super easy to controlâcolor and brightness

These lights rock
The lights are great, I wish the app integrated with Apple Home better as the Govee App is very dynamic, but a bit laggy. Some of the occupants want to be able to turn the lights on/off a bit quicker and aren’t concerned with the bells and whistles these lights are capable of. The lights integrate well with Alexa as we learned to name the individual lights with easy to interpret names (for Alexa). Grouping the lights was useful and helpful also.

These things are bright!!!
As you can see in my video, these lights are incredibly bright! I literally have to turn the kitchen lights down to below 10% and mostly one percent or it blinds me. This is not a complaint. This is exactly what I was looking for. When it comes time to cleaning lighting up, the whole house is very useful at 100% power. These things take no power to begin with, so I canât imagine how low the amount amount of 1%?The colors are nice, vivid and bright as well. They were super easy to connect to The Govee Home life app. You can change the temperature from warm to cool with a bar so you can put it exactly where you want it. I prefer warm so thats where I have mine.Highly recommend definitely worth the money.

Very bright with the regular lighting. Colored lighting seems slightly dimmer.The app works but the connection is slow and delayed.They still work with light switches but they may forget their settings sometimes.They can be scheduled to change their settings at set times, which I use to help wake up in the mornings.They can be customized to follow different lighting patterns or just use the preset patterns (most preset paterns are pretty bad, but some like the fire/candle effect are nice and atmospheric).Overall I am happy with them.

I was concerned reading posts about not being able to set these up on Google Nest access points. This seems to have been an issue that has been rectified, as setup was easy, and they are easily controlled by Alexa, or their app. They are working well, as are my many Govee products.
