EXOGENOUS KETONE SUPPLEMENT

The low-carb/high-fat diet, also known as the ketogenic diet (Keto Diet), has seen many effective weight loss results. However, getting started can be tough. That’s what Keto-friendly supplements are for. Designed to help optimize the ketogenic diet, Keto supplements can help you get the head start you want.

THE PERFECT FIT FOR ANY LOW CARB LIFESTYLE

Nutricost has developed a premiere BHB Ketone Salts (4-in-1) supplement, a naturally-derived compound that mixes sodium, potassium, and calcium, with exogenous ketone Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB). Ketone Salts (4-in-1) are designed to provide a multitude of touted benefit. However, exogenous ketones seem to have the most benefit for those already in dietary ketosis. They are especially useful for already individuals in a caloric deficit diet, who train and perform at high levels and are looking for an additional energy source.

There are 3 different types of ketones: Beta-hydroxybutyrate, Acetoacetate, and Acetone. Beta-hydroxybutyrate and acetoacetate are the most abundant ketones, while acetone is produced in much smaller quantities, and excreted as waste from the body through respiration. Beta-hydroxybutyrate can also be converted via BHB dehydrogenase into Acetoacetic acid, and ultimately Acetoacetate. This makes Beta-hydroxybutyrate the most vital ketone. Ketone bodies are then utilized in the citric acid cycle to synthesize energy in the form of Adrenosine Triphosphate.

Nutricost uses calcium, sodium, magnesium, and potassium in their Ketone Salts (hence the 4-in-1). Each exogenous ketone is bound to these minerals. Any individual familiar with being in dietary ketosis knows the importance of consuming adequate electrolytes since it is much easier to become electrolyte imbalanced in the absence of carbohydrates.

Unflavored Nutricost Keto BHB 4-in-1 provides 12g
**Nutricost Keto BHB Exogenous Ketones 4-in-1 Review****Key Benefits:**Nutricost’s Keto BHB Exogenous Ketones 4-in-1 powder is designed to support those on a ketogenic or low-carb diet. Each serving contains 12g of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) derived from four essential salts: calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium. These electrolytes play a key role in maintaining hydration and energy levels during ketosis.**Effectiveness:**This supplement is particularly useful for increasing ketone levels, helping users achieve or maintain ketosis more efficiently. Many users report feeling more energized and focused throughout the day, especially when using it as a pre-workout boost or during fasting periods.**Taste and Mixability:**The most common complaint is the strong, unpleasant taste. Many find the unflavored version to have a chalky, bitter aftertaste, even when mixed with other beverages like coffee or flavored drinks. Some have suggested diluting it with stronger flavors to mask the aftertaste.**Value:**Priced competitively compared to other similar products, Nutricost Keto BHB offers good value for those looking to boost their ketone levels, though the taste may be a deterrent for some. It’s a solid choice if you prioritize function over flavor.**Conclusion:**If you’re serious about maintaining ketosis and are willing to overlook taste issues, Nutricost Keto BHB is a potent and cost-effective option for exogenous ketones. Pair it with strong-flavored drinks to make the experience more palatable.

    awful taste but works great!!
Keeps energy up, mind clear while I don’t eat sugars, refined carbs or garbage. this gives me the strength to do one more day. Product is excellent. All ketones on amazon have been purged and this is the only with the right dosage I can find. there used to be other brands at 3500 mg bhb but now they’re all gone. I hope nutricost presses the accelerator on this product and continues to make more and more and keep the ingredients pure and intact. this is a winner. it could definitely be made better but is a winner

Not as bad as I’d feared.
UPDATE: the appetite-suppressing characteristics have persisted, so I updated and added a star. Not getting any energy boost from it, but I only use it 1x/day, so that may be on me. Also, mixing it into spicy V8 marginally improves the drinkability. It’s still bad, but endurable. The taste is bad, but not horrific. I mixed it in beet juice and it tasted like drinking very sour pickle brine with an ocean water chaser (that’s went under a wave ocean water – not Sonic ocean water). It does appear to almost immediately suppress appetite, but that may just be because your taste buds and stomach are pretty freaked out by what just got sent their way and don’t feel like taking another chance. I didn’t retch, so it’s got that going for it

Tastes like your worst nightmare – but works great!
The Bad: These things taste nasty. Like, really nasty. If you are shopping for ketone salts, you (hopefully) already know they aren’t going to taste good. Personally, I chose this unflavored basic stuff over the stupid “raspberry lemonade” flavors because: 1. the price is way better, 2. I know what’s in it. and 3. Most of the time when you try to cover up a bad taste with artificial flavors it just gets even grosser. I would rather chug a few ounces of gross salts in water than endure a glassful of disgusting “lemonade”. Besides, I can always add this to a flavored beverage of my own choosing if I need to cover up the flavor, and I’ll have the flexibility to keep it varied, rather than being stuck with a tub of a flavor I don’t like. The Good: They work pretty well. Three days into my keto diet I was completely exhausted and could barely move or think about anything other than cupcakes. I was in full carb flu/sugar withdrawal. To make matters worse, my husband and I were visiting my parents to help them build a brick patio, so I was trying to haul 80lb bags of mortar around their property and move bricks and generally do some physically intense stuff. These Ketone Salts arrived on day four (I ordered them to my parents house because I suspected I might need them) and I immediately took a half a scoop. I can’t say that it works like spinach does for Popeye, but my brain did start to feel like it was functioning again within an hour or so, I stopped feeling like I was going to fall over at any minute, and the next day, after taking another 1/2 scoop in the morning, I was hauling bricks like my normal self, though I was still a bit tired. I continued to use the salts 1/2 scoop twice a day for another week to see me through the transition and it really helped.I am not taking them every day now, but I do when I need a little extra oomph for something, and when I inevitably slip up and eat too many carbs, it will be nice to know I have them to keep me from slipping out of ketosis and going through the carb flu again.

    Taste and discomfort
Although they are “unflavored”, they had a subtle taste that was unappealing. I added some flavoring, and it only got worse. They don’t mix well, as I had floating powder residue after mixing thoroughly. And they were very harsh on my stomach.

First time using. Not the best experience.
Been sitting in the bathroom pretty much since I took my first scoop. Not sure if the salts are causing this or maybe I’m a little intolerant of something in it….My ketotones shot up very fast though. 0 to 0.5 in 15 minutes.Need to assess more and will update this post.
