Works but was a little finicky
I had an easy time connecting to the app and getting the bulbs to work. I keep getting an error EVERY time I try to connect these bulbs to Alexa. They will not connects. Bluetooth bulbs will though.Update. Got it connected. Donât know what changed but it works with my Alexa. These bulbs are finicky, but they work well.

Requires strong Wifi signal
Bulbs were installed as a replacement for the Sengled classic bulbs that required a hub. Those classic bulbs would keep loose connections with the SmartThings hub. To my surprise, these require installing the Sengled app. Not a big deal once everything is set up and connected to my SmartThings hub and Google Home. They worked ok initially; was able to change color, adjust brightness, and program them from the SmartThings app. However, the connection was not much more stable than the classic ZigBee connection. The further bulb, which is only about 25ft away from my router with 2 walls in between, keeps showing offline and has to be reset to connect again. Finally figured out that particular corner of the house is only getting about 5mbps download, and 2mbps up. Why would a bulb require more than that to keep connected is beyond me. So it’s just an expansive dumb bulb until I can somehow improve my Wifi signal in that location. My advice is to check your Wifi signal before getting these.

Super great lights with one caveat
These lights are really great and they’re super easy to get started with. Just download the Sengled Home app (which allows you to connect the lights to your WiFi). Then from there you’ll be able to add them to Google Home, SmartThings, etc. even if you uninstall the app.The app does come with some pretty cool features like a Halloween mode where it switches between orangey colors. It has random color modes and a few other nifty things. Normally I like to uninstall apps I don’t particularly need but I decided to keep it because of an amazing feature that I think I’ll use all the time now: sunset and sunrise.Set a time and the lights will start dimming to 0% over the desired period of time (5, 10, and 15 minutes) for sunset or going to 50% for sunrise. I’m not sure why sunrise only goes to 50% (I’ve only just used it this morning), but I like it and it’s not too harsh on your eyes in the morning.I also really like how short the delay is between the Sengled Home app and the lights. I usually use SmartThings, but when I use the real app and I change the color or brightness, the light changes pretty much instantly. Most smart lights take a second to update so this is pretty cool. The color range on these is decent and it displays colors pretty brightly. What this means is if you want bright colored lights then that’s perfect but if you want a dark mood and want to set the lights to dark purple or something then forget it. You can’t even do dark purple with these lights it’s more of a purpley white. Dark red is great and dark blue is pretty bright (but pretty dark too so good job). Most RGB lights have issues pulling off a good dark purple, so I won’t take away any stars for that. The attached photo shows dark purple at 100% brightness. The ONLY issue I’ve run into is that curiously some of the lights randomly turn on. I’ve made sure there weren’t any scenes or automations that were telling it to turn on. This morning one of my lights just randomly went full brightness at 2:14am. I hope this is a bug that gets fixed or just a super rare issue. It also happened earlier in the day yesterday so I’m not sure what’s going on here. It’s only happened twice so I can’t say it’s bothering me but it did wake me up in the middle of the night and make me think I was supposed to get up.Anyway, I’m very satisfied with this product but please fix this!

Worst brand of bulbs ever
I bought these bulbs in May. For a while they worked fine. However. Ever since upgrading my router in November, I have had NOTHING but trouble with these bulbs. And itâs been worse in the last few weeks. The bulbs will work fine and respond to me changing the colors via the Amazon Alexa. But after an hour or so of use, when I go to change the color again, either one bulb wonât work. Or both wonât work. And because they are in a light that holds 2 bulbs at once, having to reconnect them requires unscrewing one to connect the other and vice versa. These are the worst bulbs Iâve ever had to use. Because more often than not they get disconnected from the app and service. And are always giving me trouble. And their app that they connect to has NO way of fixing the connection issue without having to completely remove the bulb and reconnect it. Because turning the lights off and on again do not fix the connection issue. Maybe it would be easier to use them if the two bulbs were in different light fixtures. But having them in a dual bulb fixture makes these the most headache inducing lights Iâve ever used. There have been nights Iâve had to disconnect and reconnect these bulbs 6 times. I will NEVER buy a Sengland brand product ever again. You have better luck with ANY other brand than this.

Difficult to connect and limited range.
I have 3 of these lights. The 2 in my bedroom work well. But, it took several tries to connect. The one in the living room has to be moved closer to WiFi. Canât place it where I want. Plus, it was difficult to connect. The app works fine, once connected. If I switched to a different manufacturer, Iâd have to download another app. And, If I switched to a different brand, Iâd get it with both WiFi and Bluetooth. These only have a WiFi connection.
