Great Gimbal For It’s Price – Built-in AI Tracking Is Amazing
I’ve been wanting to get myself an actual camera gimbal for a very long time. I’ve had mobile phone gimbals in the past but now I can tell why other people still prefer this kind. There is a huge difference when it comes to weight factor but you can tell that this FeiyuTech SCORP 2 well built. Buttons are tactile, knob is smooth.Though it takes a while to learn all the buttons and it’s features, there’s a compatible app for Apple and Android that has videos and guides to get you up and running in no time! What I also love about the FeiyuTech SCORP 2 is the AI tracking feature. You basically set the gimbal on a table, stand in front of the camera and do the “ok” gesture and it’ll start tracking you.Everything you need to get started comes with the kit.Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, everybody can be comfortable using it.Overall, the FeiyuTech Scorp 2 Gimbal is a standout performer in its class. With its unbeatable stability, versatility, user-friendly controls, long battery life, and durable construction, it’s a must-have tool for any filmmaker or content creator serious about capturing stunning, professional-grade footage. Whether you’re shooting documentaries, vlogs, or cinematic masterpieces, the Scorp 2 is sure to exceed your expectations. Highly recommended!Great job FeiyuTech!

Great gimbal (so far) after a little adjustment with my Sony A6500!
I finally decided to get a gimbal, and was able to because it was in my price and weight load capacity fit my needs. I have a Sony A6500 with a Tamron 17-70 2.8 lens and wanted to get more into video work. When I first got the gimbal and started the setup and balancing, I was disappointed that with my lens and camera combo, that it would’t balance because the weight of the lens was way too heavy and I was at the end of the plate for me to adjust. I was ready to return it, and have debated for days whether or not I would, but then I had an epiphany: I just needed to add weight to the camera to balance with the lens.At first, I tried looking at setups where I can add a counterweight, but then I thought – maybe getting a battery grip would help… AND IT DID!I purchased a battery grip for my A6500, and with the weight of the grip and added battery weight, it worked like a charm! I’ve only done some early testing, but I was able to to get all the axis balanced and did a video test, and was happy with the turnout so far without trying any of the features. I’m a beginner in video work using a gimbal, so I haven’t really dove into it in-depth, but for my initial need of being able to use a gimbal for smooth footage, it did just that, and anything else from that point on (for me) would be an added bonus. I can’t wait to get more familiar with the features and enhance my video work.

The Scorp Series is a winner for me … again!
I am a pro shooter, and I use a bunch of gimbals for different shots. I’ve been using an original SCORP for probably close to 5-years now, and a Scorp-C for a couple years. When this v2 upgrade came to the flagship SCORP gimbal, I knew it would be good … but I didn’t know how good! The big “wow” is, of course the AI tracker; this is only my second gimbal with an AI tracker, and already I can’t imagine how I lived without it. Set it up and it literally becomes your SECOND shooter … YES, I can make a one man shoot look like a good three operator shoot now thanks to the AI tracking. If you are a pro without an AI tracker, you NEED it!And not so obvious, but still a great upgrade is the abality to quickly switch from standard horizontal shooting to vertical in only a few seconds … and the controls on the v2 scorp are more intuitive, and at the same time more functional. I don’t have a camera that can use Bluetooth to connect to the gimbal controls, so I can’t review that feature … but wired it’s as rock solid as I expect from this company :)And last, the scorp has never been light on power … but this seams to have more powerful motors and better battery life than any of my current DSLR gimbals … very cool. One tip: If you have not shot with a gimbal with this form-factor before, be SURE to spend some time with it before taking it to a paying shoot … just like any new accessory!

Itâs a beautiful flawed product!!
The Scorp 2 wouldâve been exceptional if it marketed to the traditional landscape balancing gimbal shooters. Excellent motor balancing ease of control and ease of use. Where it fell short was the A.I tracking, portrait video, video market.Fist of all when putting the camera in portrait mode, FeiyuTech didnât even account for todays DSLR/Vlog SLR camera built in swivel monitor. When you put your camera in the Scorp2 gimabal mount portrait mode the camera swivel monitors are facing down towards the gimbal, which is blocking you from seeing your self. Maybe you want to run some distance tests, framing tests, or position tests by yourself before your live shot begins, well guess what, wont happen on your own. What is the purpose of A.I Tracking on a gimbal if most of the usage would to be to track yourself but also be able to see yourself while doing it.That also leads into the A.I Tracking issue. Scorp 2 only reframes in landscape mode, not in portrait mode. So you have all this headroom at the top, soon as you reframe to close the distance of the headroom, the gimbal resets back to original position still leaving all the headroom. I contacted them on the matter, they stated its a sensor issue and its really little they can do about it even with updatesPros-Excellent for Landscape videos,Cons-Poor A.I portrait reframing and Portrait camera mountingThe Hohem Isteady MT2 is actually most well rounded example of encompassing both A.I Tracking in both Landscape and Portrait

On the second use I powered it up and it smoked from the upper section where the camera plugs in. Now it says failed to initialize

All of the specs on this gimbal are offered in the sellers page so I won’t copy and paste that here. there is a lot to know about this gimbal and I would recommend poring over the seller specs and even visiting their website for al of the details that may be important to you. What I will say about this gimbal is that it is a seriously high quality, well spec’d and versatile kit. It is not your cheap run of the mill kits and is worth the price of admission in my opinion. Full disclosure, I usually shoot and produce videos with m action cameras and a gimbal isn’t usually needed. That said I have a couple of pro quality DSLR and mirrorless cameras with pro lenses that I don’t use for video often enough for various reasons, stability being one of them. I tested this gimbal using my Nikon mirrorless camera and a 24-70mm lens with stabilization turned off in the body/lens.The initial setup and calibration is a bit of a process and if you want a quick and dirty phone or action camera setup then this is not what you want. If however you are looking for a high end stabilization rig that can handle your larger camera bodies (and their big sensors) and your larger or pro level lenses then this is what this gimbal is made for. And it works very well I that role. The kit case is pretty big and it needs to be to hold all of the bits of this kit. This speaks to the capabilities in that it supports a lot of different cameras and lenses. It has a lot of adjustments and customization for the different camera/lenses you may want to shoot with.In addition to your standard stabilization offered by similar gimbals kits what sets this one o na different level is the built-in AI enhanced shooting capabilities. This feature offers tracking (body, face and object) as well as various gesture controls to allow you to remotely control the gimbal and camera and this is very useful when you are shooting solo and no relying on others to help with various functions and allowing for a smoother. and more efficient workflow.Mechanically they haver updated the mounting system with a new quick release L-bracket system allowing you t easily switch from landscape to portrait/vertical shooting adding to the ease of use. The gimbal supports both wired and wireless (Bluetooth) connectivity to various cameras (check list for BT support as obviously not all bodies are supported). The controls are well placed, easily accessed and work very smoothly. Particularly the built-in 1.3″ touch screen makes viewing and selecting gimbal functions very easy and intuitive.Further to the built-in controls this gimbal comes with a free Feiyu SCORP App that allows you to access even more settings, such as parameter adjustment and somatosensory remote control,.choose a scenario for shooting, modify button settings, calibrations, and much more. With that all said, to summarize, this is a professional quality gimbal with an array of enhancements including AI and app support that will add a lot of convenience and functionality to your shooting. It looks and feels great and a quality product and for what it is it comes in at a great price point as well and I would certainly recommend this gimbal.

The FeiyuTech SCORP 2 is more than just a refined version of SCORP C (Gen 1) which I had been using since 2022, the built in AI and the upgraded motors make this the perfect gimbal for solo video maker. The AI tracking is one of the best I have come across, accurate tracking means a lot less oops moments when camera is out of frame. The phone app is very easy to use and the graphic interface means you don’t need to be a tech expert to use the more advance settings like time lapse and pre set A to B pan shorts. Setting up the camera on the mount is a bit fiddley but you only need to do it once, the quick mounting plate allows the camera to be off the gimbal and back on with just a click. There is also an extra bracket included for vertical mount for 9:16 phone video style for IG, FB and YT shorts videos. The motor is strong and it will handle up to 2.5kg load as long as it is well balanced, there is a list of compatible camera and lens for look up and even tho the motors are working to its limit I managed to mount my Canon EOS R with the 70-200L f4 long lens just to test out the gimbal and it works for slow action like walking and moving about which was a surprise. The carbon fiber extension is extremely light and it feels like part of the gimbal once screw into the base of the gimbal, with the included wide tripod base it is stable enough for low level shots. Battery lasted around 6-7 hours with my EOS R and moving around all the time, it can be used while plugged in for extended use. It takes less then 2 hours to charge with a PD phone charger, we always have full battery by using a PD power bank plugged in between shoots. The hand gesture is one of the function I used the most with the SCORP 2, it pick up hand signs instantly and the Double L shape gesture allows custom framing which is a massive time saving for “one man band” video maker like myself. Just make the Double L hand sign move to where you want to be in the frame and re active the AI tracking and it will track your movements but still keep you in the part of the frame you wanted. Spread Palm to start recording and then same hand gesture to stop, no more back and fort to the camera from my station hundreds of times between shots.Overall I am really happy with my purchase and I am happy with my upgrade from the SCORP C
