    Overall, a 10/10
Trigger warning: mention of bodily fluidsSo I have never waxed or used any type of “semi-permanent” hair removal until I bought this device. I have been shaving for about 12 years now, and I used this on my underarms. There was a good bit of blood, but this thing works. If you’re using a semi permanent hair removal method for the first time, it’s going to be extremely painful, but I’m holding on to it being easier the more I do it since your hair grows back thinner, softer, and more sparse. I plan to update after a couple more uses. So far, I like this method a lot. We’re on day three since I used it and I have bald underarms. It’s so lovely to not worry about shaving them in the shower.

    Amazing product for hair removal
This thing is GREAT. Removes hair so easily and thoroughly. I love that the hair grows back in so much slower, and especially on the legs seems much thinner and finer too!Of course it hurts a bit especially if your hair gets a bit too long and it catches funny. It also takes a Very long time – you don’t use it quite like a razor, don’t glide quickly over the skin – it’s more of a pause, move, pause, move… and on the pauses you let it pull out all the hair in that area. My main struggle is keeping it from brushing against my skin, don’t want it to scratch my skin, only catch the hairs. So it’s a bit tricky. Still haven’t done my entire legs, but when I have enough spare time, I sit there and do a zone.Wish I’d learned of these sooner. Just an incredible product. Knowing I will never have to buy or use a razor again, but can still have hair-free legs, is such a wonderful thing!

    Good Beginner Epilator
I have thick, dark hair, and have to shave every other day. I was getting sick of the constant ingrown hairs and strawberry skin after shaving, no matter how much I exfoliated beforehand. I was also getting tired of the cost of razors and the waste they create. I decided to try this epilator since it was a good price, and I didn’t want to commit to an expensive one since I didn’t know how I would repond to the pain. This epilator works great, but it doesn’t get every hair, especially if they are thin hairs. But it gets the majority of the dark hairs I want gone. The pain isn’t a problem for me, but there are certain areas that hurt more than others, like the thigh. But if you can handle a tattoo, you can handle the pain from this. You can also go at your own pace. It does take much longer than shaving, but the hair staying away for a longer amount of time is worth it! I usually do a section at a time, usually at night when I’m doing my skincare. The cord is pretty long, and the light helps you see any hairs you might have missed. Overall I’m happy with this purchase, and it’s a great epilator to begin with if you’re curious about alternatives to shaving or waxing, without being too expensive.

    Effective hair removal
I always travel with this product it’s a life saver in between waxing. Even if you don’t wax/laser hair this epilady is amazing at hair removal. The LED light is incredibly useful at highlighting fair hairs or hairs you might have missed. Regular use is key. I usually get mine to last for a year or two even with weekly use.

Not Recommended – Ineffective & Irritating
TL;DR Summary: I wouldn’t recommend this device and will likely purchase a replacement in the near future. I really wanted to love this epilator, but unfortunately it just doesn’t work as well as I hoped. It’s not *terrible*, but does not do well getting thorough results. This means it takes more time than it should and lots of ineffective “hair pulling” – and thus more irritation. This is especially true on finer hair. The device’s design also makes it more prone to scratching skin. The razor gets a close shave, but it takes several passes.Note: If you’ve never used an epilator before, see “FYI for those new to epilators” at the bottom for some general considerations.Detailed Review:Pros:- All the normal “pros” of an epilator (search them if you’re new to the process)- The power cord is pretty long. Anyone who has tried to use an epilator with a short cord knows how annoying it can be to do yoga on your counter, trying to get enough reach, while not making a mess of hair all over your floor. (Using a small extension cord is always an option, but can also be annoying.)- The light is great. It’s really nice to see what the target is, especially when you’re going back to get any missed hair(s) from the initial pass.- It’s nice to have the option of the foil electric shaving head. I didn’t expect to like it, but it actually gets a SURPRISINGLY close shave (*but it makes you work for it… see “cons”)- It’s nice having a single product with multiple functions (trimmer, electric razor, epilator). Even if you don’t typically use them, it’s nice to have the option.Neutral:- The “massage” head does seem to work to decrease pain very slightly, but not enough to use considering the drawbacks. I find that it makes it more difficult to maneuver the device properly and get as close to the skin without pushing down hard (which increases the risk of scratches, pinching, etc.). I only used it for a few minutes before I removed it.- I didn’t use the trimmer attachment, so I can’t comment on it.Cons:- All the normal “cons” of an epilator (again, a little research will explain what to expect better and more reliably than any advertising or a review)- My biggest complaint – In my experience, this product does not work well on fine hair. I used another (also very cheap, entry-level) epilator in the past that seemed to work MUCH better on even the finest hair (my hair is mostly dark and thick, but like most people, there is usually more fine hair mixed in than we realize). The style of the plates on my original epilator were different (see photos), and I wish I had purchased that kind again. The epilator on THIS device has several, tiny plates that actually look like individual “tweezer” heads (also see photos). The other epilator I had (that worked better) had one, contiguous series of metal disks that spun together. I was able to do a more thorough job, in less time, with less irritation with my original model because it pulled far more hair out the first time. With this product, I have to keep going back over the same spots to get everything, and usually I feel like I still don’t.- I also found this device is more prone to pinching and scratching the actual skin its self. This too is related to the style of the “tweezer”-type plates. Because all these plates have square corners, they tend to be sharp. As they are spinning extremely quickly, if you press even a little too hard, they scratch the skin as they spin by. This isn’t an issue with my previous epilator, which has no sharp edges (but the rounded disks instead).- The foil razor head takes several passes over the same place, in multiple directions, to get a thorough shave. I’m less familiar with electric razors, so I can’t comment on how it compares to others of a similar style. Trying this made me curious to try an electric, foil-style razor more regularly… but a different one.FYI for those new to epilators: I HAVE used other epilators before. For the record, none of them are pain-free so if you’ve never used one before, keep that in mind. It’s a little frustrating when there are negative reviews just because they can be painful to use (though such advertising claims are equally frustrating!). No matter what epilator you choose, they work by ripping the hair out by the root, one after another, in quick secession. They have benefits that still make them worth using for some people (myself included), but that’s personal preference. Also, it’s true that after the first few times, it gets less painful; with repeated uses, the hair follicle and root get weaker, and the new hair grows in finer, so less force is needed to pull the hair out, causing less pain. This is true of epilating, waxing, tweezing, or any combination of these or any other hair removal procedure that works by pulling the entire hair out. There are 2 ways that an individual epilator can impact how painful it is to use: 1) a built in skin massager or barrier (which has other pros and cons, as noted in my review; personally I do not like these), and 2) The plates used to “tweeze” out the hair work well enough to pull the entire hair out the FIRST time (rather than giving a strong pull on the hair, but not strong enough to pull it out, and it taking several “tries” of pulling on that hair before it actually removes it (causing more pain and irritation).

Why didn’t I get this sooner!!
I bought this at the advice of a friend, but after shaving my entire life, I truly had my doubts. I LOVE my epilator, and have no idea why I didn’t start this sooner!! It is the BEST for underarms, I no longer have a constant 5 o’clock shadow in my armpits, it’s fast, it’s easy, and I only need to use it once every week or two to maintain. For legs, it does take a little bit of time to complete the larger surface area, but then you won’t have to shave for nearly 2 weeks. You do need to have a bit of a pain tolerance as pulling your hairs out doesnt necessarily feel great, but once you get used to it, the sting is minimal and oh so worth it. My only regret is not spending a little more on one of the more expensive models! If you’ve been thinking about getting one of these, just do it.

Game changer, I’m obsessed! I was really scared this was going to be painful (almost didn’t buy), based on some of the reviews. You can definitely feel it when it catches/pulls the hairs, but it’s not bad at all (oddly enough I feel like I’m addicted to the feeling of it catching/pulling the hair). And I don’t wax or anything, so I wouldn’t say I have a high tolerance for any of that. I wasn’t sure if I’d have to wait and grow out my (leg) hair before using, but I was able to use immediately with pretty short stubble, I’ll just have to go over again as the rest of the hairs grow out enough to catch. I used the ‘prickly roller attachment’ to start because I was scared of the pain, but ended up taking it off because I found myself pushing harder to catch the shorter hairs & that (the attachment) was scratching my skin. Using without any attachment was the best (for me), no need to push. Some also said they had to rub back n forth a lot, I found its better to just go slower, giving it time to catch the hairs. And I only went in short burst, in the same spot for trouble hairs that were shorter/harder to get. I didn’t exfoliate or anything, so we’ll see if I pay for that later. Some were annoyed by the time required, but I hate having to shave in the shower, it just slows everything down. So I love being able to throw down a towel and sit and watch TV while doing it & honestly don’t find it takes very long anyways.

Wouldn’t really write a review for a product but this one is amazing. Going from a cheap knockoff brand that ripped my skin out and left a huge scar I was deterred from epilators. I was getting frustrated over shaving my light hair so on a whim tried this one out from a friend recommendation. It does everything so well, works on underarms and legs and arms amazing. Couldn’t recommend this product enough.
