Simple, FAST, Secure, Wireless! EASY!
BenQ has a lot of experience with computer Video and Audio. The product lets that shine! Background. I am an IT professional. Over 20 years in the business. I have seen lots of technology. Desktops, servers, printers, wireless, networks– all sorts of brands makes and models. Troubleshoot fix etc.I hate fumbling around in the conference room finding the presentation cable that is dirty mangled and if lucky works. if you are lucky no one took it and worse ran over it with the roller chair! Frankly, I have a job to do other than be the dedicated AV tech for the conference room Projector. We have an IP-based projector today. Challenging part of that is you have to let the visitors onto your network AND load special software. That takes too much time to load the software and keep the software up to date and can be a security risk. This solution takes on that challenge.Build Quality: 10/10Easy of Use: 12/10Ths solution is simple. A receiver to attach to your projector, which has HDM input. The box includes a short HDMI cable for this and a 3M adhesive for mounting. The receiver creates a wireless private network that is secure. Any adapter will automatically pair to the receiver with a click of the button. The laptop will connect to the adapter via USB (for power) and HDMI (for Audio and Video). The receiver has the option for USB power and or the supplied power adapter. ** THERE is a USBC model for newer laptops. This will transmit power, video, and audio from the laptop to the receiver over a single connection. They were out of stock when I ordered. I might get the USB-C adapter as a lot more laptops and even the iPad Pro now uses USB-C.I took a video of the test. This particular model WDC10 is the HDMI/USB connectors for the laptop adapter.Everything I need is included in the box.I quickly tested this device on an HDMI 4k display to a MacBook Pro 2018 model USB-C (not ideal because the laptop is USB-c) I had to use a couple of converters for the USB-C ports and the BenQ Adapter. It worked!! flawlessly.Video Quality: 10/10Granted it isn’t 4k but I wasn’t expecting it to fully take advantage of my 4k display. BUT for overhead projectors, it is very good quality 1080. No flicker. No dropped signals. The receiver has antennas included for the private secure wireless network. There is a little “mode” button on the side of the adapter. it optimizes “video” or “presentation” mode – powerpoint, text. Again this is BenQ flexing their years of experience and know-how.Convenience 11/10Very fast to connect to the receiver. Multiple adapters mean multiple people can share via a click of the button. Easy hand-off. Adapter has a color code: 1. Green – Ready to pair. 2. Blue — Paired and transmitting. — 3. Red- Not Ready.**BONUS**There is a very professional dock, included. There is a spot for the adapters and misc cables when not in use. it will easily blend into any conference room. Brush black metal. From open box to shared video, it took less than 5 minutes. I will put this through its paces! So far nothing to worry about.I highly recommend the BenQ WDC10 (WDC10c is the USB-C model)I will follow up with a long term review later…

Happy Customer – Bang for the buck!
Entering a meeting room with cluttered wires, struggling to present – especially when there is a client is always a nightmare.I always wanted a premium wireless presentation and I found it with the purchase of WDC10. The best part is no software or driver install needed. It is pure Plug & Play. The installation is super simple even for small offices with no IT team. It comes with a base unit and 2 buttons. We had it up and running in 10 minutes. There are lot of mounting options available for the base unit to keep it discrete if needed. From the setup standpoint, I just had to power base unit with any USB power source and connect HDMI to the video input of projector or TV. The button powers itself with the USB port from the laptop and it does not need charging either. When I was ready to present, all I have to do it is plug button to the laptop, push the button. the content is shared on the display. There is also a mode button to change settings between presentation and video mode – extending usage options. One base unit can switch between 16 buttons making this a prefect solution for small and medium sized conference rooms.Secured transmission (AES 128-Bit encryption), Plug & Play, Looks Premium, Perfect presentation solution – Can’t ask more.Happy Customer and I recommend it.

I bought twice
Easy to control, high tech, but very easy to get hot on the device itself.

Easy to setup, but some connection issues
We’ve been using this for a couple days with somewhat mixed results. It’s a good product, but we’ve had some connection issues and whether they resolve themselves or not will determine whether I bump this up to 4 stars or knock it down to 2.The good:It is easy to setup. It’s a great idea for a product. Plug the receiver into the TV/Projector, plug the broadcast bit into the computer and you’re good to go. Or should be (read below).Everything is very compact and uses standard cables. The directions are good but… some text would help. It’s all pictograms… I guess to drive home how easy it is… but there are a couple points where it’s a little confusing and some explanatory text would help. But it’s a minor point, mostly the directions are good. The Bad:The BenQ kept disconnecting from the Mac we had. It work for a few minutes, then disconnect. Then work for a few minutes, then disconnect. This really defeated the purpose. This has happened twice out of the four times we’ve connected that Mac. It _eventually_ settles down and stops disconnecting (although why is a mystery) but in one instance it took about 10+ minutes to settle down. If this had been a important meeting (instead of our daily sprint meeting in which we got to play with some new hardware), I’d have thrown the thing out the window. Also, said Mac also had one application get ‘stuck’ above the menu bar, so it couldn’t be dragged down. This was partially because we were fiddling with the resolution settings. It may not have been solely due to the BenQ, but there was some other weird behavior that was entirely the BenQ, like the BenQ showing up as a monitor when everything had been unplugged from the Mac and turned off.Our Windows 10 machine seemed to behave itself. So… over the next week or so, we’ll be plugging a few more laptops into it. I’ll report back on how trouble-free, or not, that turns out to be. That will determine whether I can recommend it or not. So far the jury is out.Oh…and SecurityThe BenQ appears to be it’s own wifi network. It does not need to be plugged into your network. It does have an ethernet port, so I assume there’s some functionality for that. But if you’re concerned about security… don’t plug it into your network. You should change the password on the thing, theoretically someone could hack into it and view your screen, but via an HDMI port they’re not going to get unauthorized access to the machine itself.
