    working as expected… or better!!
I bought this access point for my younger brother because he was unable to connect his older devices (Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, etc.) to our home internet. I believe that this was due to the security software inside our main router. I got this access point so that he could basically bypass the security software. When we tried to connect the devices to this access point, his devices connected flawlessly! Given that this access point is single band (2.4ghz only) the speed is somewhat on the slower side, which is expected. We have 500mbps service at the main router, and I was getting about 100mbps at most on the access point. That number was better than what I expected for how cheap the unit is. Overall, I am very pleased with this cost effective solution and I won’t see Ethernet cables running across the floor anymore!

Does the job we needed it for.
Our internet provider updated our equipment to 5G service with “automatic” 2G, instead of a dedicated 2G service. The problem with that was we have numerous devices (security cameras, network bridge for our window blinds, thermostat for our HVAC, etc.) that will only run on 2G, and they wouldn’t pick up the “auto 2G”. We contacted all of the vendors for the items that just stopped working and they gave us many “work-arounds” that didn’t work. Our internet provider didn’t feel as that they needed to provide us with equipment that would make everything in our home work again, so it fell to us to find something. We weren’t really happy with any of these companies, but what were we going to do? We had invested in these items and we wanted them to work. So we found this little gem, at a very reasonable price. Relatively easy to install and now we’re online again, and all is working well.

    Capable, with some glitches
Keep in mind this is just an access point. It is not intended to function as an all-in-one wireless/wired router. It is good for larger locations where you want to plug several of these into the wired network in different rooms to have strong signal/good throughput everywhere. I have 3 of them.As noted in other reviews – SSL doesn’t function – it tries to respond on port 443 but the certificate is either misconfigured or missing and there is no way to install/generate it via the UI (I have both hardware versions 2 and 3 of these with whatever latest firmware available). There are some issues in the Javascript code the login page produces that prevent it opening or completing the loading under some conditions in certain browsers. Best I can describe it is ‘finicky’.Another possible minus – the first of these I bought started malfunctioning recently (connects/disconnects even after a reset). This is after at least a couple of years of totally unattended operation and, given the price point, I’m not too disappointed. On the plus side – simple to configure, working SNMP (so you can watch these things in Zabbix), and working SSID-to-VLAN mapping which was important to my use case – these are less SOHO and more enterprise features. Throughput is good.

Very easy to set-up and get going
This wireless AP is great for extending coverage in any area. With the ability to either act as a repeater or stand-alone AP, for a great price, I recommend trying this device out. Configuration as an AP is easy if you’ve set up a wireless AP before. While it is easy to mistakenly turn on DHCP and knock out your existing wireless network (the static IP and gateway options are hidden behind the DHCP setting), resetting the device is also remarkably simple.

Absolute Utter Garbage as a Wireless Access Point
If you want to use this as a Wireless AP for a room away from your modem, then don’t. My cables are fine, the setup works, but it gets less than 1/10 of the speed of my original access point even when wired to the modem. It is of my opinion that the router most likely acts as a range extender even when in wired ap mode, resulting in virtually no signal in the room that I set it in. Get a better 40 dollar one from a more reputable seller than this garbage.

    Perfect for my application!
I needed WiFi in the shop to stream TV and music. I chose this for the price due to the environment it lives in. I ran cat6 cable from the router in the house to the shop so I can use it as an access point. Now I can get calls and my YouTube mechanic videos. The range seams great. I cannot speak to the durability yet, it seams to be of decent quality. It was easy to setup, and I hate dealing with computer programming stuff. I would recommend for anyone needing a similar application.

great solution for legacy devices if security isnt a concern
Using this to connect home automation and IIOT devices because my EERO pro cannot manage to create a dedicated 2.4ghz SSID. The firmware has all the expected control that is missing from a fancy EERO mesh solution ( 20X the cost). My specific use case is to ensure reliable connectivity to a Hunter Hydrawise irrigation controller that was constantly switching between mesh points causing the backend to fail. Using this access point I was able to lock it to a dedicated 2.4ghz channel and now have 100% reliability. all access is whitelisted at the main router so security isnt a concern.update – quite a lot of security concerns. not a problem in my application but check the news. dropping a star for that reason.

Si tuviera almenos 4 puertos de red sería excelente, pero solo trae UNO, de ahí todo está bien
