Awesome Camera
I just installed this last night in a few minutes, I had my equipment on 5G so I had problems until I got everything changed to 2.4ghz again. Ideally, I will get a dual band with a dual network too so I can run both simultaneously in the future. This video clip is at night so it’s black and white, but the clarity and wide coverage are great. I mounted this inside a secure bracket that uses adhesive tape instead of skews, which I don’t like to invade wood trim with, and it is holding strong so no one will grab it and run, but even if they do, the Arlo subscription provides theft replacement. The device itself is a very solid camera, not a light and cheap feeling. It was simple to set up, an important must first step is to make sure your router and phone are set to 2.4ghz or it will not connect period. Then put the camera on a charger, download the Arlo app, and get that installed, then just stand by the camera and follow the instructions to set up the camera. Check the battery is at 100 percent and install your camera where you want it. I am not replacing my doorbell which is not in a good location as it faces another wall, so I have mine attached to my door trim which is at a slight 45-degree angle but as you can see it captures both sides and down the entryway across the street you see my neighbors house very clearly. They have several plans monthly and annually too. The top tear offers 24/7 external monitoring like ADT does with police alert which you can get a home insurance deduction for to offset the subscription price which is very reasonable and includes unlimited cameras and 30 days of cloud storage. It’s Alexas compatible too. If someone presses the button they can talk to you too, It’s a complete package. It also recognizes if it’s a person and sends you a notification so you can watch it just tap the notification and it shows the video clip without having to go to the app big plus. There is a momentary delay of course, but you can switch to ive view too. It has it all. I bought their cameras a while back just hadn’t had them installed yet, I will do that soon. I like they don’t need batteries because that gets expensive over time and they usually don’t last long.

Easy installation, good quality
Just finished setting this up. Installation went very smoothly, I had the angle and mounting bracket installed while the unit was still charging. When the unit is charging, the LED power indication initially comes up and then goes out. I wasn’t sure if the unit was charging, dead, etc. I gave it a good hour and decided to try set up. Set up went smoothly and indicated during the set up that the battery was at 95%. The unit also comes with wiring to allow it to be run off your door bell wiring but in my case, the door bell is not in a good location so I’m going to go with the built-in battery. Will be interested to see how long it lasts.
Picture quality is very good and is still very good even with the outside lights off. This is at 9 pm in January and looking out the side windows I would describe things as black as we have no street lights where I live.
Setup took me a while to get through. I thought I was finished but had apparently missed some steps. A little playing around and I got those missing steps and the setup completed. All in all it was pretty painless and I’m not deducting any points. The unit also automatically updates itself during the setup process. Connecting to my home WiFi went smoothly.

I was looking for something easy to install because I don’t know much about wires and installing. So i got the wireless and taped it against the wall with extreme tape. It’s easy to add to the app and no extra hassles. That’s exactly what I was looking for. It detects movements and notifies me via the app. I’m very happy with my purchase.
