Easy set up, full function, and reliable
Unlike other smartplugs that I have used, these were really easy to set up and quickly connected to my 5Ghz wifi extender. It gives me immediate feedback about the voltage delivered to the plug, ampere draw by the device plugged in (a single 1300W heater), and power used by day, week, month, or year. An on/off schedule can be set by time of day, by sunset/sunrise, and a feature that I really like by local temperature (presumably from a nearby weather station (like you see on wunderground etc). I use mine to control heaters to prevent freezing temperatures, so I use the latter feature.

These are superior smart plugs
These smart plugs can and do work with 5GHz WiFi which is how I am using them. They are faster than the smart plugs that only work with 2.4 GHz WiFi. I bought them as replacements for 2.4 GHz smart plugs which stopped working for me when I upgraded to 5GHz WiFi. If you have 5GHz WiFi and you need smart plugs, buy these. The instructions that are included are clear and easy to follow. Setting up the smart plugs is easy to do when you follow the instructions. These smart plugs work well both with Alexa and with iPhone. They are worth buying.

Impressive features and easy to use
I had some 2.4 ghz smart plugs I bought from another company years ago but they started dying out on me so I was looking for replacement smart plugs that had all the latest features. I saw these Eightree plugs on Amazon and they looked like they had all of the features I wanted. My plan was to use these plugs to monitor the energy consumption of the various space heaters that I had around the house to see if electric space heaters costs more than just using natural gas to heat the rooms. I also upgraded the router at my house to multiband 2.4/5 ghz and my prior devices that ran on 2.4 ghz were having problems connecting to my network. The plugs were easy to install and connect to. All I had to do was open up the Smart Life app on my iPad, insert the plug in the wall outlet, and then select âAdd Deviceâ on the app. The app then detected the new device, I input the WiFi password for my network, and it was connected. In the past, my space heaters would occassionally burn out my prior 2.4 ghz smart plugs. Anything that generates a decent amount of heat (i.e. hair dryers, space heaters, clothing iron, etc.) will draw a lot of amps and can burn out a smart outlet unless the plug has a decent amperage rating. I havenât seen any smarts plug out there that have a re-settable fuse on it. So if the plug gets overloaded, itâll burn out and canât be used anymore. These Eightree plugs have a 15 amp rating, so it can likely handle as much power as your wall outlet is able to put out. Iâve had my space heaters running on these smart plugs for 3 hours now and the plugs have been able to handle the power draw without getting warm or overheating. I was especially pleased with the depth of the energy monitoring features of these plugs. You can pull up graphs showing the energy consumption per hour, per day, week, etc. It also shows the total dollar cost of the energy thatâs being used and well as the ongoing voltage and the number of watts thatâs being drawn from the outlet. So it can also serve double duty as a voltage and wattage meter. These arenât the absolute cheapest smart plugs on Amazon. But they are the lowest priced ones that have all of the features that are included in them: 5 ghz Wifi, 15 amp capacity, energy monitoring stats, etc. Iâll be ordering a lot more of these plugs so that I can monitor the electric usage of all the devices at my house.

Excellent Product Quality and Operation with Easy Box to SmartLife to Alexa Installation
These worked as expected with a short learning curve for installation. The first one took 10 minutes to set up and integrate with Alexa. The second one took 5 minutes. The third and fourth took about a minute each and did not require referencing the instructions.I have several other brands of the same item that I could not make work with a 5GHz router. This product’s compatibility should be the standard. There is a price premium to pay for this and I would hope the price would be reduced over time.

SO much easier than 2.4GHz plugs with Alexa
I’ve been using a variety of 2.4Ghz plugs – three different brands. The best was probably the Amazon Basics, but they all were a pain to re-set. “Power off for 10 seconds, then power on, then hold the button for five seconds…” What they never say is “… and hope that this time the device will find the appropriate WiFi SSID.”When I got these, two of the four immediately were located by the Smart Things app – about 10 seconds after plugin of the device an icon shows up in the app. After that finishing setup was a breeze. Once Smart Things had them, Alexa acknowledged them immediately. Only issue in my case was that I was replacing the 2.4GHz plugs so I had to delete the old devices before the new devices could use the same names and it didn’t occur to me before starting.The other two plugs required being reset (hold button for 12 seconds) and then they worked just like the first two. Unfortunately, this is not obvious and it took me a few minutes to deduce this.If you’re new to smart plugs, skip the 2.4GHz ones and go straight to the 5GHz models – you’ll find them much easier to setup. If you’re tired of resetting plugs, it’s worth the investment of moving to these new models.

5GHz Wi-Fi solution
After having switched our internet service to wireless, our old plugs wouldnât work due to their requiring 2.4GHz. I tried several work around but never could get them to connect. Ordered these plugs and they were so easy to connect and immediately solved my problem. Highly recommend

I couldn’t find the smart plugs I bought on Amazon years ago, so I had to look for a new brand. The first ones I bought said they worked with 5G internet router, but it turned out they required reprogramming the router which I am afraid to do, so I returned them and found these ones. They installed almost instantly, the existing Google Home and Smart Life apps immediately spotted them. Since I have four older plugs and 4 new ones, I put a label on each one with a number to make each plug easier to identify and to help organize the list of plugs and their schedules on Smart Life. Simple automation like having a light near the bathroom turn on at dusk and off after bedtime is so convenient.

It is a single outlet that can handle 1500 watts of power or 15 Amps of current so it is capable of handling many household devices. It is compatible with Alexa, Google Home and Smart Things and SmartLife app and it provides an energy monitor function that many of these types of remote outlets do not. Itâs also ETL and FCC certified and comes with a 2-year customer-service which is a nice bonus. It connected to my WiFi network without issue and showed up immediately in my SmartLife app. Once in you app of choice controlling it is a simple process and works even with voice control. Yo can also set this on a schedule, control it manually through the app, add a timer, etc. This is a great little wifi connected remote controlled outlet and I would recommend it.
