Make sure you buy the latest product
I was in need of a new router and wanted to go with a “Mesh” system to provide better coverage in my two-story house. I searched on Amazon and came up with a Linksys Mesh system that got good reviews. I purchased it because the price was in my ballpark $150 range. I received the Mesh unit the next day and began the installation process per their directions.The first indication of an issue was the app they wanted me to download was no longer available. I proceeded with installation nonetheless and met my second concern – the units could not detect my internet connection.I contacted Linksys Tech Support and provided them with the serial number of my unit. The representative notified me that the unit was 7 years old and no longer supported. I said I just bought it and it was wrapped and sold as new. So beware, some sellers are selling old products even though they’re “new” – as in never used.I then did further research specifically looking at the date indicated in the specifications section of the listing. I was happy to see this product was released in March of this year. I bought it even though it was $100 more than I wanted to spend. The product came the next day and again was wrapped nicely by Linksys. This time the instructions were very simple. Simply plug in the unit per their instructions and the Mesh system essentially found itself and connected to the internet connection. Since the installation a couple of weeks ago the system has performed very well in both the upstairs and downstairs of my house. The mesh system has extended my previous coverage, allowing for a better internet connection in my garage and front yard. Though I wish it was priced a little less, it is providing me the coverage and reliability that I was after. I also installed the app for better management. I haven’t used the app too much yet, but it looks like it will be very helpful if I need to get more control of the network and its access to guests,

Awesome Coverage & So Easy to set up
This is awesome. Was very easy to set up and the coverage is amazing. I kept running into issues with dead zone. Not anymore. This system is fantastic. You set up the main router, and then the nods you can place anywhere there is a power outlet. It has allowed me to have complete WIFI coverage in my house, and yard. No more slow speeds, or disconnects. Very happy so far!

disclaimer; this review may be subject to change as it has only been a couple days of usage.Pros: Simple UI. Easy to setup. 2024 router model is LN1100 v2 (version 2) and does indeed have pairing button that is not shown in the images here. Does not “require” app. All 3 devices have the SSID and password labeled on the bottom. Custom SSID/password is the first item to fill in the setup wizard. Client at farthest node seems just as fast as at router. Does have DMZ. Does have port-forwarding.Cons: Not for tech-enthusiasts. no SSH. no custom firewall IPv4 entries. Only 2 dynamic DNS providers (Dyn, No-IP). Custom DNS seemed to require mobile device App before i saw the fields in the DHCP service Web UI. WebUI alludes that router-apps (plugins) exist for installation but none cane be found on website. Third party software such as OpenWRT and Tomato do not list this as a compatible hardware. Setting a new password requires specific format including dis-allowance of repeated characters (e.g. 547ruggedLunatic would not be allowed due to 2 g’s). Maybe no VPN not checked yet, but do not remember seeing it in UI.Additional: The UI on this router is the same as the MX5300 demo UI on their website, but without external storage tab. WebUI is “Linksys Smart Wifi” by Belkin, not LuCI UI, not openWRT UI. MAC address is Belkin.

Great budget friendly, compact, and effective system
Finally needed to replace my old Linksys EA6350 after we started to add too many devices to our house and decided to upgrade to mesh system due to the size and number of devices which I needed to support. I didn’t need a super expensive gaming system but use several streaming services and I work from home as well. I have a 3 floor, 5 bedroom home built in the 90s with a little over 4,000 square feet of living area and this system beautifully covers every inch of my house with good signal strength and speed. I love the compact design of the nodes so they can placed just about where ever you want without taking up space or creating an eyesore. I would recommend this for any mid to large home or older homes where dead zones are frequent not needing to do any hardcore gaming.

Good Connectivity
I have two set up in the home and one in the camper where we currently reside because of Hurricane Helene. It has been fast reliable internet for all of our streaming and gaming needs. It was very easy to set up and definitely worth the money.

Keeps on dropping connection
This mesh system did not work for our two floor suburban house. Parent router was on the central area of the second floor, child 1 is almost directly below, child 2 is a room away from child 1. Had the setup for two days and almost every other hour I got notifications on child 2 disconnecting. Internet speeds were also bad for the child nodes. The main node gives off about 600 mbps (wired connection to modem is about 900mbps), child 1 about 200-300mbps but for the last node, it barely reaches 100mbps. Another bad thing about this product is the phone app. Janky and unpolished. One event that stood out to me was setting up guest wifi. It kept on changing the name back to whatever default name they had and also kept on wiping the password I set up. Had to keep on trying just to make it stick. Ended up replacing it with eero 6+ for the same price. Eeroâs were placed in the same spots. Setup was a little bit easier, app was way better and smoother and the best part, connection speeds are better. Constant 400-500mbps for where child 2 is.

Easy Set Up for Great WiFi
Not a tech-y person but was able to set up the entire system before my cup of coffee got cold! Very, very easy. WiFi range and speed is much improved. We have an unattached garage that sits about 100 feet from our house and never had WiFi extend out to there before this. The ability to configure where you want the WiFi to go by moving the nodes is the best part of this system. Highly recommend.

It was a pain to set it up through the app. It says âit will take around 4-6 minutes for each child node to setupâ and then it freezes there for a good hour. Save some tome and buy something else. Ive never posted a review before but this one deserves it ð£ð

Bought 4 nodes 1 month ago and now the entire network fails multiple times a day. All nodes are blue Yet I have to power cycle or reset network via the app many times a day. Their support refuses to even acknowledge the issue. GARBAGE
