This is a great 85mm lens for the price! Get it!
Takes absolutely beautiful pictures. I’m an amateur photographer so this was right in my budget and is helping me learn the ropes of the 85mm world. It has a nice weight to it. It’s loud, but the sounds don’t bother me, it sounds kind of cool lol. Just have fun with it! You can switch to manual focus if the noise bothers you. I love this lens, it’s great for the price.

This is an amazing all around lens!!
My wife has a Canon 7D mk2 and loves it. She has a nice Canon 50.m f/1.8 and was wanting a nice prime lens that is a little longer and that doesnt cost a small fortune. We looked at the Canon 85mm f/1.8 lenses and the build quality was sub par especially for the price. While looking on Amazon I ran across this Meike lens. From the specs it looked good and the price was excellent. I was a little leery at first because most often budget lenses end up being fairly soft and have horrible chromatic aberration. The lens arrived about two days after ordering, which was nice. When the lens arrived and I took it out of the box I noticed it was heavier than I expected. It weighs in at 14oz. This lens has large great looking optics in ur and the best part is it has a solid metal mount, something the 50mm Canon does not have. I like that you can select between auti ficus and manual focus with the switch in the side. I decided to test out the lens and see if it is really as good as the reviews say. On most fast lenses when you shoot wide open they tend to be soft and have more CA than when stopped down. Because of this I decided to shoot all my test shots wide open and see what the images look like after some pixel peeping. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this lens gives excellent sharp images in low light and in brighter high contrast areas the CA is almost non existent. I would almost say this budget lens is almost as good as my Zeiss lenses. I said almost, it is hard to beat a Zeiss or Sigma art lens. The manual focus rotation on this lens is 90 degrees from near to infinity so it really helps you get your shot quickly although the auto focus on it is very fast as well. Everytime I tried to focus on something it would automatically hit the spot even with the lens wide open and that is hard for some lenses to do. I did not try this lens out with any videos because I prefer manual focus lenses with at least 200 degrees of focus rotation or more. I’m not saying you cant use it for videos but itlf you do you might want to set a higher F stop for deeper focus or switch the lens over for auto focus so you dont miss your mark. All in all I am very happy with this lens and I can see using it for a long time!

Amazing Budget Lens with 2 workable issues. Donât pass it up.
If you want a budget lens that provides good quality images, this is a great pick! The lens has a metal housing and is overall well made. The f1.8 aperture is great for low light portraits and the bokeh is smooth and pleasant. There are two downsides to the lens:1. The auto focus drive motor is loud, and can be distracting when the lens searches for focus.2. Focus is fast at the center point, but gets slower and more difficult as the focal point moves away from center.Experienced photographers can easily work around the focal issues, center point focus and recompose. Doing this also reduces the noise of the motor because it isnât searching for focus on an outer focal point.Outside of the issues, when it does focus its sharp and the bokeh is amazingly pleasant.Overall a great budget lens, especially with its f1.8 aperture. If youâre looking for a budget lens, donât pass this one up.

Good, Budget-Friendly Lens!
I recently picked up this lens for my Canon T6, and so far, Iâve been pretty impressed with it for the price. If youâre on a budget but want a solid 85mm prime, this lens does the job well. That said, there are a few things worth mentioning.Build Quality: For the price, the build is actually pretty good. The lens feels solid and has a nice metal mount. Itâs a little on the heavier side, but not too bulky. It has a nice clean design that looks more expensive than it actually is.Autofocus: The autofocus is a bit louder compared to my Canon lenses. Itâs not super loud, but you can definitely hear it whirring, especially if youâre recording video or in a quiet space. The good news is it doesnât affect the performance. It locks onto subjects fairly quickly and doesnât miss too much. In super low light, it can struggle a bit, which is pretty common for lenses in this price range.Image Quality: This lens really shines in terms of sharpness and the overall look. The f1.8 aperture is awesome for portraitsâit creates beautiful background blur and helps isolate your subject. I did notice some chromatic aberration (color fringing), but itâs nothing major as itâs easy to fix in Photoshop or any editing software.Bokeh and Aperture: One of my favorite things about this lens is the f1.8 aperture. It gives you that nice shallow depth of field thatâs perfect for portraits. The bokeh is smooth and dreamy, making your subject really pop against a soft, blurred background.Overall, the Meike 85mm f1.8 is a great lens, especially considering the price. The autofocus is a little louder than what youâd get from Canonâs OEM lenses, and thereâs some chromatic aberration to deal with, but nothing too bad. The image quality is sharp, the bokeh is gorgeous, and the lens is perfect for portraits. If youâre looking for a solid 85mm lens that wonât break the bank, this one is definitely worth checking out.

It have focusing issue, 1 out of 3 photos out of focus. For hobbyist it’s a good art lens. Do not try to cover events.

Ottima profondità di campo, luminoso sà ma non in modo efficace.Ottimo per ritratti e ottima resa anche ad iso alte. Montato su canon 5d mark III E fa il suo dovere.Forse rumorosa in modo eccessivo la messa a fuoco.Consigliato? Per iniziare forse si e per questo prezzo è valido

A great lens for the price.Takes very good clean images.Having read some of the other reviews, regarding the auto focus noise…. Yes there is a bit of a noise… And if you are videoing, it could be an issue. Though for doing portrait photography, I can put up with with it…. I have given it a 4 star mainly because if you want to use it for photographing animals, it could scare them, or alert them of your presence. For me though, a great little lens for the price.
