Apple Homekit-easy, priced to please, colors (meh).
I got these via free promotion from meross after using a couple other meross products (outdoor outlet, garage door opener). I’ve had them for several days. The price is good enough that I will buy more if they last. They were dead easy to set up in Homekit, which I did out of the box before installing the meross app. In the Home app (click +, Add Accessory), scan a bulb’s code (see images) and screw it into a live socket. It takes a minute but mine both paired without incident.I moved both bulbs to a two socket lamp behind my iMac to use them as ambient monitor lighting (see video). The non-primary colors were the worst offenders for accuracy, but I was mainly concerned with the 6500K color temp (ideal ambience to minimize eyestrain). The Homekit app doesn’t indicate the temp by number, unfortunately, but the meross app does.A reviewer said the bulbs don’t stay connected to both apps simultaneously. For me, both apps kept the bulbs connected just fine. I set the color temperature in the meross app, switched to the Home app where it registered the change which I then saved into my “At Work” Automation. As reviewers have noticed white settings can be much brighter than multi-color settings. Both modes were adequate for my ambience purposes, but readers will appreciate the brighter white levels. Overall a very good product for the price, but color accuracy could be improved.

Works with Apple HomeKit
I don’t use Alexa or anything Google but I do use Apple HomeKit for security reasons. Unfortunately not a lot of products support the Apple HomeKit ecosystem. These bulbs do indeed work with HomeKit which is great. These are replacing Bluetooth enabled bulbs I am using that are giving me issues recently. I am glad that I went with these bulbs as they are quite good. I have not had any issues as of yet (about a month of using them). The bulbs do have their own iPhone app which I would download even if you’re going to primarily use them through the Apple Home app. The Home app dumbs down the interface and the colors you can chose are not very nuanced. Using the Meros app you can really tweak the infinite amount of colors to your liking. Where the app really shines is the ability to tweak the temperature of the lights by actual warmth category. Using the Home app you just move a sliding ring around for the temperature and I don’t think it is choosing a temperature but really adjusting the amount of orange and blue light from the bulb. The Meros app allows you to click on 2700k or 5600k warmth or coolness and it reproduces your warmth settings perfectly. They connect very easily to the both apps. They respond fairly quickly to inputs as they are WiFi enabled. The fact that you get two bulbs at this price point is great. I may just order a few more for around the house!

Works with HomeKit
Setting up the light was a breeze using HomeKit. We love the option to change the color of the light. Weâll definitely be buying it again!

Great bulbs for the money!
Setting up to homekit is probably the only issue. Make sure your phone is connected to 2.4ghz network. Than install the bulb turn it on and try adding accessory in homekit. Have patience! Unless you get the dreaded cannot connect to accessory just keep waiting. The bulb will flash and cycle through colors when it finds it. Im sure homekit is downloading all kinds of stuff hence why it takes so long. Now if you do get the cannot add accessory you need to reset the bulb and try again. Turn it on and off three times (and chant theres no place like home). It should add now to home kit. I than suggest adding it to the meross app. Its the only way to update the firmware if there is one is in the meross app. Again have patience. The bulb will blink during the adding process. I have also found that if it looks like it is stuck on the adding screen forever try exiting the app and reopen. Sonetimes it has added it but not given any confirmation!Color and brightness selecting is easier in the meross app. There is a color wheel or a color temperature that actually shows the value. Remember you can group multiple bulbs inside the homekit app if you want several to be controlled in unison.Wifi reception can be spotty so be aware you may need to add wifi extender or upgrade your wifi setup. You can check the reception inside the meross app.

I love these light bulbs. Very easy to install and get integrated with Alexa. I had some other LED bulbs that would flicker but these don’t. Very stable connection and work with all my Alexa Routines. A ton of colour options I use for different Holidays.Another great product from Meross.

These bulbs are great. They are not expensive, and the colors are great. I got 6 of these all around my house and they all work without any issues. The WIFI connection is solid, they don’t drop the connection randomly. The Meross app is also great, it’s always evolving with new features and new product support. They also connect to the Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, and Amazon Alexa. I personally use them through Google Home, which allows me to aggregate all my smart devices together and make them work together as well. The routines you create inside the Meross app can also be triggered by Google Home. I don’t know for the other platforms but that should be pretty similar. All around, that a good buy, do not hesitate to get these over the more expensive alternatives 🙂

The bulb performs as advertised, offering adjustable color and brightness and connected to Apple HomeKit. However, there are noticeable differences between this economy option and the premium smart bulbs that I have, that could cost up to twice as much.Response time: This bulb exhibits a noticeable delay when turning on or off compared to premium bulbs. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s definitely noticeable compared to no delay.Color quality: I noticed that the color quality of this bulb was OK, but nowhere near the quality that my premium bulbs have, even though both claim to produce 16 million colors. I discovered that the Color Rendering Index (CRI) score indicates how true to life, accurate, and vibrant the colors are. Even a couple of points difference in this score produce a very noticeable difference in quality of light. The value of this smart bulb largely depends on your specific needs. If you are simply looking for basic functionality on a budget, this bulb is perfectly fine. However, if you are looking for noticeably high quality color and performance, then you will want to evaluate premium bulbs.
