    Doing its job
I will give an update on this product, after a few weeks have passed. I installed it same day it arrived. It was actually easier to install then I thought it would be. The original transformer was put in my condo in the 80’s when it was built. It was rated at 10V, 5VA. I had the “level 3” output and “poor” transformer with a reading of 10V. My mechanical door bell chime was not working since the ring was draining all the juice. Apparently there was not enough voltage to power the mechanical bell with the ring installed. When I upgraded to this transformer recommended by ring…. Let me just say a night and day difference. My mechanical bell now works and there is no delay, the notifications I get them instantly! I have all the features as well; such as night vision color, the led light on the ring doorbell button is now on. (before it would never turn on even during night time) The speaker and mic sound louder and clear. The video quality is also better. After I installed the transformer, I waited about half a day then rebooted my doorbell through the app. (even though I did not need too, I immediately received 16V rating but I wanted to be sure, just incase) So far its perfect. I will update this review as time goes by. Also, just a tip. Make sure you continue to check that you have the latest ring door bell app update. I noticed that ring updates their app like every other day and also ensure your ring doorbell has the latest update. The transformer does run “hot” but its not really that much of a difference. I can still touch it with my fingers but its a higher output in voltage so it’s expected, yet nothing to worry about.Update 4 months later: transformer still going strong and working as expected! But now my mechanical door chime has a slight buzz I heard it’s common if you put a high output transformer. I know it’s my mechanical doorbell because if I shut the breaker off for the doorbell the buzzing stops. It doesn’t bother me and it’s not loud but I can hear it when I walk by the mechanical doorbell chime when there is no noise in my place. Not sure what’s causing it or how to fix it as I have the ring power pro connected to it as well.

    5 star quality o
Having problems with my 2 ring pro door bell cameras going on and off line. Replaced the transformer with a new one from the hardware store. Still the same problem. This is probably twice the weight and 20% larger. A much better mounting design as well. We have had zero problems since installing this transformer. Highly recommend installing.

    16V 10va —> 16V 30va – upgrading fixed my digital chime issue!
Great product and fairly easy to install for anyone even slightly comfortable with doing home repairs themselves. The most daunting electrical work I’d ever done was installing the Ring Doorbell itself.Long story: I got the Ring Doorbell Pro for Christmas and installed it to my home’s built in wiring and digital chime box. The latter of which I had purchased and installed some years ago.Once my Ring Doorbell Pro was installed, it powered up and shut down a few times (only at first) and the digital chime made no noise. I left it as is as I had a trip to make, but once I returned I discovered the doorbell stayed powered and the chime was working, but with horrible gaps in the sound (similar to when you’re on a phone call and their voice cuts out due to bad reception). Before making the purchase, I attempted calling Ring and asking if this upgrade would fix my issue. They had long hold times so I decided to risk it and make the purchase. The transformer itself is well built, has quality wiring with the matching nuts, and even comes with screws and brackets to mount it. I shut off the power, tested power was definitely off, and took about an hour to install it (I was learning as I did it). Don’t hate on my slowness.I didn’t need the screws or brackets as I was able to unscrew the transformer’s plastic washer and attach it to the housing box in my home (shown in the photos).Once installed, I said a prayer and flipped the circuit back on. I am excited to report my whole system is now working perfectly. If you’re having issues like I did, this could be your fix!

Ring Transformer has UL Approved Label
I recently installed a Ring Doorbell Pro wired doorbell for use with the existing house mechanical chime. The original house transform is a 16V-10VA and the mechanical chime doesn’t work with the Ring Doorbell Pro. From reading a number of articles from different sources online, changing the transformer to a 16V-30VA will likely solve the issue.A couple of the things I couldn’t find in the Ring transformer description on Amazon was whether it is UL Approved and if it is a Ring branded transformer. Upon receiving it, the answers to both questions are yes. Pictures attached. 12/2024.The reason I didn’t give it five stars is that I haven’t installed it yet so I can’t confirm it solves the issue, and I feel it’s priced a little high based on comparable non-ring-branded transformers.Hopefully the information is helpful to others also wondering.

Good upgrade for peace of mind
Had 2 ring doorbells hardwired to my door chime inside the house, was having some issues and found spikes in voltage at the wiring. Found out the transformer was going bad and causing issues. This was a very easy replacement and has been working perfectly ever since, supplying low voltage power to both ring doorbells.
