Completely transformed my dog for the better + excellent customer service
I have an extremely stubborn, powerful Chesapeake Bay Retriever. The only way to get his energy out is off-leash walks through woods and across fields. A problem started early on with these walks when he would start eating things that he shouldn’t, and which sometimes caused him to become sick. Because he would be several feet away from me when this happened, I was unable to stop him in time. Enter the shock collar. Being able to prompt from distance, he quickly learned that even if I was not right by him, he had to respond, or else.My dog also has a tendency to act aggressive towards other dogs when on leash and when he doesn’t get to “say hi”. He feels the tension in the leash and thinks he has to go into guard mode. Off-leash he’s fine and if the other dog is allowed to say hi he’s fine. But not every dog is permitted to say hi, and this was causing problems because he is powerful. I can manage him, but other members in my family couldn’t. Shock collar to the rescue again. If we saw a dog coming and the leash got tight, we had the remote at the ready to prompt him if his behavior was unacceptable.The great thing is that he’s learned to the point that if the collar is simply around his neck, he knows how to behave. The shock is barely used at all. The ping and vibration are enough to prompt him. Some might say a shock collar is a cruel method of training, but it has made taking my dog outside into public and on walks a joy, when before I dreaded it. And as I said, the shock mode is barely used at all.I’ve been using this product for 18 months and it performs so well. We do not leave home without it. Battery life is excellent. If the remote or collar are a bit low on juice, I can charge them via the USB cord in the car on the way to wherever we’re going. The range is also impressive. My dog will sometimes disappear into the woods chasing deer and I will lose sight of him. If he doesn’t return after a while, I can ping the collar to determine where he is. And this has actually become a useful signal for him to return to my side. He also likes to swim and does so almost daily. The collar is fully waterproof and has remained operational for months, despite being fully submerged almost daily. He is not bothered by the collar when wearing it, and he happily naps with it on. The remote is sturdy and durable, and fits well into your hand and pocket. The lock is very helpful to prevent accidental prompts, but it’s also readily accessible if you need to quickly unlock it. Operation is straightforward and intuitive.What has really impressed me with this product, though, is the customer service. A few months ago I had to order a replacement because I stood on the remote and completely crushed the antenna, drastically reducing the range and reliability of communication to the collar. Completely my fault and I was happy to purchase a replacement. After 3 months, the replacement remote suddenly and completely went dead. After some testing, I discovered that the remote was fine, but the rechargeable LiPo battery had lost its charge. I reached out to customer service on a whim to explain the problem. Without hesitating, they offered some suggestions on how to troubleshoot, but asked for my mailing address at the same time and offered a free replacement remote, which I received less than a week from my initial request. It paired perfectly to the existing collar.A great product backed by great customer service. I highly recommend.

I am a Positive Reinforcement Methods Trainer of my German Shepherd Service Dogs however there are some Tasks that require 2 people to Train my Dogs. Because I don’t have Access to Anyone else able to Assist Me with Training This Type of Collar helps to Give my Dogs the Necessary Cue to Understand What and When I am in Need of Them to React On Cue when I am Not Near Them. I can Only Comment on The Beeping Level as That’s the Only Level that I Utilize in my Training. And This Level has Been Amazing for my Dogs & I. The Quality of The Collars and The Remote are Really Great and I Appreciate the Size of The Remote being a Bit Bigger than Some Others that I have Owned and Lost (Over and Over Again) Thus The Reason for my Purchasing This New Set with Larger Remotes ! I do Remain an Absolute Advocate for Force Free and Kindness Only Training. While it May Take a Bit Longer, A Dog’s Learning Time Should Never be Expected to be Similar to Your Wait Time in Line at McDonald’s for Food. (4 Minutes or 4 Weeks) Your Bond with Your Dog is Far More Important and Worth The Time and Effort that You Invest. This Collar gets 5 Stars from me for Being my Assistant in Training but I Wouldn’t Use the Collar as Instructed with the Prongs into my Precious Sentient Innocent Animal’s Neck Any More than I Would Ever Put Them Into an Infant Child’s Neck, another Sentient Innocent Being without a Voice who Requires TIME TO LEARN.I Strongly Advise to Use This Collar Extremely Cautiously and with Experience and Superior Intelligence.While I Agree that This Collar is Extremely Easy to Use and The Instructions are Easy to Follow that does not Equate to The Collar being for Everyone to Use on Every Dog. We’ve found that this is a great collar at this affordable price point. Effective range and build quality are both surprisingly decent. The collars have held up well while keeping our two stubborn foxhounds out of all sorts of trouble.While there may be “better” collars (more range, gps features, etc…) at higher price points, I think this one strikes the best balance between price and functionality. We’ve never had a unit outright break or die on us and have only had to re-order when a collar or remote was lost in the wilderness.On the subject of lost units: pairing new collars to an existing remote, or vice versa, is stupid easy which is another big plus for me.In a nutshell: great price, good quality, and very user friendly to boot.
