Really surprised
Iâve used several WiFi antennas with mixed success. This particular one is being used to push a WiFi signal out into the forest 100 yards or so to a Ring Camera we set up as a trail camera.Iâm using an old WiFi router/extender I had laying around with it. The signal is stable and solid at this distance. Speed is most likely limited by the 10 year old router so I canât speak to that but the signal is solid and I get the impression that so long as the sight line was maintained I still could move back a significant distance and still maintain enough speed to keep the solar camera stable.

Works good for me!
I put this up to use in a detached metal pole barn building that I had good wifi to ONLY if the overhead door and walk door were open, when these doors are closed there was no wifi what so ever, I used this Antenna in combination of with a Linksys wifi extender and now I have good strong wifi in the building when it’s closed up.

Made no difference
I connected this antenna to a Unifi WIFI bridge in the barn and pointed it directly at the WIFI WAP in the house about 50′ away. The signal remained at -76dB, about the same as the built-in antenna in the bridge. Maybe it is just not compatible with Ubiquity products, but I am returning it. Overall quality is in line with what I expected for the price.

No Improvement
This was no better than the $9 direct screw-on 15″ antenna I bought from Amazon. My wi-fi camera is mounted on an outer building about 150′ from the house modem. The original short camera antenna was “spotty” to the PC viewing and recording but the $9 antenna was a real improvement.I thought I could make an even better improvement with this antenna that I mounted on the roof of the outbuilding, whereas the camera is on the side under the roof overhang, so I had hopes for a clearer direct line of sight. Also, I felt this would be a higher quality antenna in itself to make an improvement.NO improvement at all – this one is more expensive for no benefit. The packaging came with no paperwork or instructions. There was NOT a second connector in the box as the product site here at Amazon showed – maybe for larger devices? There was included a little plastic bag of some extremely small parts – which I have no idea what they were. The product site here at Amazon said a 10′ range – BUT that is the length of the cable to the antenna from where it screws into the camera.I returned this antenna.

Perfect
I was wanting to get my wifi signal in my metal building to my repeater and it works flawlessly.I was honestly shocked at how good this antenna is built

Helps 2.4 but not so much on 5ghz
Did not find much boost on the 5ghz –maybe the difference from -84dB to -86dB so that was disappointing. Checked it on two different dates /times. But the 2.4 ghz went from -72dB gain to -62dB gain at a distance of 600 ft. compared to regular router antenna, non directional. I would have expected more gain but that was significant. Using with a TP Link outdoor access point.

Well built, with an RP-SMA male connector
Well built, comes with good hardware. Based on the pictures, I wasn’t sure whether or not the cable at the base of the antenna had a N connector and an adapter for the cable, but no, it is a true RP-SMA connection directly to the antenna element. So the only interface you have with the antenna is indeed the RP-SMA male connector at the end of the 10′ cable. This is the standard connector used for WiFi access points that have antenna connections. If you need more than 10′, buy an RP-SMA cable (with one side male, the other female) to extend.

I really was hopeful for these, but they simply don’t work as router antenna replacements
My home is a ranch style, two level house of appox. 4300 sf. I have two Asus RT-AC86U routers utilizing the Asus AiMesh Router/Node mesh configuration and wired backhaul channel. One router is on the first floor at near mid-point, but in a closet. The other is on the lower floor and relegated to one end of the house for space reasons. The issue I was dealing with was coverage to the furthest reaches of the home on each floor. Each router, while decently powerful, does not produce enough signal strength for full coverage. There some weak spots in the 2.4GHz band and some completely dead spots in the 5GHz band. My hope was to reach the furthest points of the house by stretching the horizontal, and squeezing the vertical spread of the signal with these higher gain antennas. The reason for choosing these units with the 10′ cable was to extend the antenna from the closet on the main floor, through the wall, to a less obstructed mounting point at a higher elevation. The intent on the lower floor was the get the antennas closer to the mid-point of the space and also to a higher elevation. For testing purposes I labeled, with post-it notes, 10 distinct locations throughout the home. I then logged the signal strength at each of those locations using a wifi signal meter app. I logged both 2.4GHz and 5GHz utilizing the stock antennas that came with the routers. Once done, I attached these antennas in place of the stock antennas, mounted them in the desired locations, and measured both bands again. The unfortunate result was a consistent reduction in measured signal strength at all 10 testing locations. Disappointed, I tried relocating these antenna thinking maybe they were being interfered with. After moving them however, the results remained the same.I think it was worth a try, and maybe they work better in other applications, but this was not a solution for me and I will be sending them back.I forgot to mention, the build quality was pretty good for a $15 antenna.

It did not work no matter how I placed it. I returned it

I was worried due to the negative reviews, but I found it worked really well for me. I had a RS232 to WIFI device that was barely connecting. After adding this the signal is rock solid.

Spent a day trying all kinds of options and this item does not work on Bell Cell system. Product is well made and durable for outside environments but just not sutable for th8s carrier

I bought this to increase the range of a Trailcam (watching for wild pigs in a pig trap) that only reached about 80 mtrs with its native stubby antenna to our mobile phones. With this panel antenna we were able to extend the range to 300-400mtrs no problem in the bush. Now this may not be the same improvement in suburbia as the “radio noise floor” is quite high but I tested it initially in our local park and again had better than 200 mtrs range. Recommended if you need an antenna for similar application.
