Originally purchased a set of these to hold the new cable box. Used the other one on my computer monitor to hold miscellaneous stuff. Worked so go, order 2 more sets! Used one to hold digital antenna for off the air viewing on a backup TV, one to hold remotes and one to hold a model. They work!

surprisingly sturdy
this shelf is perfect for what i need. after an office move i was left with less desk space, so i had no place for my plants! i now have a 4” pot and two little jars with plant cuttings, which is quite heavy. i’ve had the shelf up for around 2-3 months now, and it’s still securely set in place! would definitely recommend if you have a monitor that works with this

Not bad — But NOT as Described, Either!
I had previously bought several WALI steel monitor shelves from Amazon, and loved them. Durable powder coated steel, nice anti-slip topper, all around great additions to keep clutter off my desk.The one down side with the WALI steel shelves is that they don’t have a lip, so my pens and note pads can fall off. I bought these shelves because they have a lip — which is SUPER handy! But the product they described is VERY different from the product that arrived in a couple of important ways.1) These are plastic. Not “ABS Metal Foam” like it says on the box (whatever the heck ABS metal foam is). These shelves are regular old plastic all the way around. The only metal involved here is the metal screws that hold the adjustable legs in place. Everything else is regular ol’ black plastic.2) The item description says they feature, “an anti-skid pad that securely holds all your TV essentials in place.” No anti-skip pad. I ordered two of these. No anti-skid pad in either box. Total misrepresentation.3) The description says, “To prevent from overheating, it is also designed with air vents for proper air circulation.” Nope. No air vents. In my application, I doubt there’s an overheating issue, but if you are planning to use these somewhere that overheating could be a problem, this product does NOT have the promised air vents.4) The description promises, “Non-marring rubberized foot and under bezel treatment.” I’m not really sure what an under bezel treatment is, but I’m pretty dang sure I know what a rubberized foot is!!! There’s no rubberized feet involved (again, I ordered two shelves, two feet per shelf, so there are four feet involved and they are decidedly not rubberized). This is a bigger issue than it sounds because these shelves DO slide horizontally across my monitors when they are touched. That does NOT happen with the WALI steel shelves. If you’re looking for something that won’t slide around, these shelves are not your answer. Speaking of which…5) The description also says, “…its flocked fabric protects your TV from any scratches or scruffs.” That is a completely false statement! The product is plastic on top, plastic on the bottom, plastic on the sides, plastic legs, plastic here, there and everywhere. It’s plastic. If you want a shelf with flocked fabric, it’s not this shelf. So if it slides horizontally and the plastic scratches your expensive TV screen or that giant monitor you’re rocking… well… don’t say you weren’t warned. It’s a plastic shelf and nothing is flocked and no fabric is involved. Plastic.So, now that we’ve cut through all the BS in the description, let’s talk about the actual shelf. It’s disappointing and not what I thought I was getting, but it’s not the worst shelf in the world, either. If they had said, “It’s a plastic shelf with plastic feet and a metal friction screw to hold the feet in place,” I’d have added a star to this review. It’s not a bad shelf! It’s easy to install. IT’s a decent size. So far it seems sturdy enough for my needs. I doubt it will ever last as long as my WALI steel shelves, but I like the lip to prevent pens from rolling off. If I need an anti-slip mat, I’ll go cut some foamy shelf liner that’s sold for kitchen cabinets and it will be just fine.These shelves are roughly the same size as the other shelves I have, and they hold more than you’d think. And while I have some pretty beefy monitor arms holding up my monitors, I think there are probably some people who would appreciate that these are not nearly as heavy as the steel shelves, so they’re less likely to create problems with their heft. There is a market for these shelves, I’m sure. Just know what you’re buying!If the skidding ends up being an issue, I think there are probably a number of DIY solutions to try that would create friction and prevent sliding, and it’s probably within the capacity of most of us to find our own solution. This is not hard stuff, folks! Felt. Glue. Rubber cement. Little rubber dots that prevent kitchen cabinets from slamming. Use your ingenuity, people! You can make this product work for you! :)The biggest issue I have with this shelf is not the shelf itself, but that the description was obviously intentionally misleading. Shame on them for misleading us. It’s an “okay” shelf — just tell us the truth so we know what we’re buying!

A little difficult to install but very useful
Have several of these trays in use on top of computer monitors; could be great on TVs too. Stable and strong, provided you’re reasonable about the weight of items placed on them and remember they’re not anchored to the monitors. Only complaints: (1) the arms that support the tray are difficult to hold in place while tightening to lock them, and (2) because the arms have to be adjusted individually, it’s a bit difficult to get the tray completely horizontal across the monitor top. But with perseverence the task can be done, and for the price point this seems a workable tradeoff for me. I do recommend this product to patient users.
