Simple yet powerful
My daughter patriciates in equestrian competitions and wants nearly every event and practice ride to be captured on video. I’m usually the designated videographer, simply using my Android phone. However, following her ride for several minutes and maintaining a stable video can be challenging so I thought I’d investigate a gimbal and picked this one up from Vine.This gimbal has a companion app that can be found on the Google or Apple store. Though not entirely necessary, using the app adds a number of control elements to the gimbal that you won’t have access to otherwise. If you ignore the additional sensor, the gimbal will still allow you to have a stable image along with joystick control over the angles, but you’ll lose the ability to use controls on the stick such as focus, the record button, and the AI abilities for face/object tracking which are built into the app. The app is well built though and also has highly customizable settings for photo and video taking as well so I plan on using the app regardless.Along with the gimbal, you get a light that snaps on magnetically to the top of the gimbal. this can be useful in low lighting situations. By hitting the buttons, you can control both color and brightness of the light. It charges via USB C. You also get charging cables and a manual. There’s also a really nice tripod. The legs and top section all fold out easily and lock in place. It makes for quite a secure perch for the gimbal.Though the gimbal is obviously the star of the show, the case is absolutely fantastic and well thought out. It easily holds everything mentioned above and is well padded, so you won’t easily break things. However, it’s not just a sack. It is a very well thought out organizer, with specifically labeled slots for each accessory, both accessories that come in the kit like the light, as well as optional ones that you may well want to add later like a microphone. Each piece has its own secure area, with elastic webbing to keep it in place. I really can’t speak highly enough of the case.Overall, I’m quite impressed both by the usability of this device, as well as the huge number of features. And while all of the included accessories are great, the case is a near perfect solution for holding it all together.

Awesome product
I am still learning all of the different features, but so far the hardware is working great. I would say the only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the device/application are not that user friendly. There seem to be several versions of the product with different features, so it is hard to find a good tutorial on the app. The case is very protective and premium and the build quality of the device is very good.

Super gimbal
The Aochuan gimbal has been a lot of fun to use. The app that works with the gimbal has face and object tracking, which is really nice for recording videos on your own. It comes with a stand for the gimbal so it can sit on countertops easily, and it also comes with a light and a sturdy tripod. The gimbal feels solidly made, and is very responsive. It came in a very nice carrying case, with lots of pockets for additional lights or tools. The instructions can be a little bit difficult to figure out initially, but after working with the gimbal for a little bit, it feels pretty intuitive. One thing I learned is that it really helps to start with the gimbal on its stand, level and still, when it first boots up. I think it sets level when you do that, if you’re holding it in your hand and it’s not level when it first turns on then it seems to have a harder time finding level.

Nice gimbal stabilizer mini-tripod set up
Decently made mini-tripod gimbal stabilizer. Great idea. Works well for those doing their own phone videos for YT or other social media platforms.

I saw somebody with this gimbal when I was in Dominican Republic and the guy explained to me that it works very well so I bought one for myself and yeah, no more shaking. It works very well. The features are good. The app is fantastic. Comes with a lot of accessories tripod lights. I’m very satisfied with this.

I always wanted to use a gimbal for my videos to get a real professional movement and look. This gimbal didn’t disappoint.This gimbal comes with a screw in base tripod, a video light (external and built in), replaceable battery and power charging cord. It uses their app to run the gimbal controls and gestures and other video modes such as pictures, movies, time lapse and Hitchcock mode. I tested the regular movie modes but I plan to try the other modes and effects in the future to make some interesting videos.I have not used a gimbal before and my first thoughts are that this device feels very professional and not cheap at all. It really grips your phone tightly so that it doesn’t slip or fall off. It is not overly large and it is small and compact for easy holding and shots.There are various modes which helps allow you to take panoramic, image and face following, panning and other types of shots very easily. There is also a stick that you can move to angle the camera manually. It works quite well but if you move too far and too fast the gimbal will loose its position. So you will need to get used to using this device to operate it properly.It also operates quite quietly, you hardly hear it at all. This is good as you don’t want any extra sound in your videos. Everything seems to work fine but you will need to get used to using it and I recommend that you start with the built in videos that are included with the app.The complete kit comes with 2 extras compared to the Smart X kit with the extra light. There is a tripod and a carry case. The smaller tripod acts like a small foot to prop the gimbal on a desk or the ground.As for both items, the tripod is built well with nice materials and the fit and finish is quite good. The height is pretty adequate with the legs and main section extending quite high. The problem with this tripod is that it is exclusively optimized for the gimbal only. It can fit a camera on the screw but it cannot pivot or pan at all. There is no quick release either. So this tripod is excellent but only best used with the gimbal.The carry case is well built. The handle is also padded so is extra comfortable. The materials seem very durable and the zippers really work well are are water resistant. There are two compartments. One compartment is for the tripod. This keeps it separate from the rest of your sensitive equipment such as lights, microphone, wires and the gimbal of course. The main compartment has many pockets which can hold your wires, manuals, microphones, lights and gimbal. The main holder for the gimbal can be separated from the internal part as it is velcroed into the carry case. Most of the compartments are sewn into the case and are elastic mesh compartments. What I liked about these compartments is that there are labels on them to suggest what to put in them. The lights have a couple of compartments and the one light that is included was placed in it. There are a couple of microphone compartments seen but this kit didn’t come with them. So you can just place your own there. There are so many compartments seen so this is a very useful case as it can hold a very wide variety of accessories.The case can be a bit small when it is fully packed. However, I think it is meant to be a compact case as everything has it’s own storage area. This truly feels like a kit you can just take with you and you will have everything that you need. You need the phone camera too of course.

Item works great without it, but if you want the AI tracking you’ll need to use the software. The software is fairly basic with all the generic editor settings allowing you to select the exposure/types etc – but the plus is the AI tracking which allows you to stay onto a selected area/item; HOWEVER this feature is a bit finicky for my usage where sometimes you will lose track of the item and the software will snap onto a new surface…Cons:Like most gimbals, this is geared towards a right hand dominant user where there is a button on the left hand side of the gimbal accessible by the right thumb (it is usable by lefties but you’ll need to get a bit more creative on how you handle the item)Note: The product does have ROM limitations where if the gimbal is about to obstruct your camera lenses it will auto rotate so that you can continue recording (not a feature I enjoy)Overall great product and would recommend as a starter to video stabilization.
