Works great!
Iâve used this to create a second monitor out of my iPad Pro 12.9â and either of my laptops I carry with me. I usually carry two different laptops along with my iPad and all work with this for making a second screen easily on the fly when needed!I love that no proprietary software was needed for this purpose either. Practically any software you can find will do. On my computer, OBS also worked so I was able to record a screen from another computer. The iPad has various apps you can use for this purpose too.

Cheap and works with OBS
Needed a cheap way to screencap without spending too much, this thing is plug and play. Plugs right in and is available as an input in OBS. Working in both Mac OS and Windows. This device even works with a a monitor app on my iPad using a USB to USB C converter. Amazing performance for the price!

Works as Expected with Good Results
This product performed as expected. I wanted to be able to capture the output from a Fire Stick and this done the trick. I also used it to record the HDMI output of another computer. The documentation supplied with the device is BETTER than most products of this type; it even includes instruction on using the device with OBS studio which I found very helpful. I still have a couple of quirks that I am working out, but I have captured some streaming videos with good results. One thing I seem to have to do, is set this up as a new source anytime I have unplugged it from the computer even though OBS still shows it in the source list. This is a minor inconvenience and for the price this works quite well.

Excellent product
We have a bunch of old VCR tapes recorded by loved ones who are no longer with us. Because of the sheer volume, it wasn’t economical to send them off for processing, so they were just sitting around. Time to act before they are lost completely. We have an old but usable VCR and the necessary Video to HDMI converter but needed a video capture card. Voila! Works great. It took a little trial and error to find the right configuration, but the hardware is very inexpensive. If you have been putting off digitizing family memories, don’t wait. It’s not that difficult.

After 6 months, the unit stopped transmitting audio.
After 6 months, the unit stopped transmitting audio. All I get is a scrathing sound. I am changing my rating to a failure. It was past my return date so I have to eat it. I re-bought another brand.

Works amazing for the price
Considering the price of many capture cards, I was full prepared for this to have a drawback. However, it really was plug and play! I plugged in my camera using an HDMI cable, plugged in the capture card to a USB port on my computer, and the OBS software I use for streaming instantly picked up the capture card. The image is of great quality and seems to be the 1080p 60fps that is promised. It’s nice to have something that works so flawlessly. I was also worried about the bandwidth over USB 2.0, but even with it plugged into a USB hub that is then plugged into my computer, there are no issues with lag or with not getting all of the data through. Very impressed!

Mono audio only.
There are dozens of these video capture devices being sold, and they are all based on the exact same chip internally. Note that you’ll only get 720 or 1080 video (4k is downscaled), and you need a relatively new computer to keep up with the framerate. The big issue for me is that the audio stream, while technically stereo, is presented as an interleaved mono audio stream at double bit rate. This isn’t supported by any major OS or video software (the one exception being that there is a kernel patch for linux). Every capture and video package I have tried sees this as a mono audio stream. Given the price, it’s pretty great. But for capturing and archiving movies where you care about the audio, it’s not what you want.

The description said USB 3.0. However, the technical specs indicated that it is USB 2.0Works fine though.
