INITIALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT……….HOWEVER
THE “HOWEVER” IN THE HEADLINE SIMPLY MEANS I HAVE QUESTIONS. WHEN YOU SAY “CONNECT THE DEVICE TO THE DC 5 VOLT ADAPTER FOR CHARGING,” DO I HAVE TO GET A 5 VOLT CHARGER TO ACCOMPLISH THIS OR WHEN I CONNECT THE TYPE-C CABLE TO THE COMPUTER WILL THE COMPUTER CHARGE THE ENDOSCOPE BATTERY? SECONDLY. WHEN I CONNECT THE TYPE-C CABLE TO THE COMPUTER SHOULD I BE ABLE TO SEE THE ENDOSCOPE VISION ON MY COMPUTER? THIRDLY, I HAVE ALREADY REMOVED THE PROTECT CAP AND REPLACED IT AGAIN AND EXAMINED THE “ACCESSORIES,” BUT WHAT ARE THE ACCESSORIES PURPOSED FOR WITH THE ENDOSCOPE? ALL THIS BEING SAID I CAN SEE THAT THERE WAS ALOT OF THINKING AND WORKMANSHIP THAT WENT INTO THIS PRODUCT AND I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP THAT I HAVE SO FAR OBSERVED. OF COURSE I WILL FEEL BETTER AND MORE CONFIDENT AFTER A SUCCESSFUL EFFORT IN USING IT FOR MY PROJECT. HAPPY HOLIDAYS! CORDIALLY, RICHARD

Paid for itself by locating a water leak without a plumber’s $$$ fee.
not just sewer scans; any tight space in a chimney, retaining wall, crawl space.

A nice option but tough to use in small pipes
The wife’s bathtub doesn’t drain that well and her toilet also has problems with backing up, so I wanted something to check out what was going on. I searched out sewer cams and came across this option. The borescope came in a nice branded box and upon opening it up, I found a nice carrying case. In the case came the camera and 50ft cable with 3 cameras. I liked how the camera was wrapped in a bag and the cable had two cable ties to keep things in place.Playing around with it first, before checking out the pipes, I found the controls were easy to use, after reviewing the instructions. I like how large the screen is and produces a very clear image. The option I got had three cameras, with one on the front and two on the side that can be adjusted with the controls at the keypad. There is also a light that flips based on the camera you are using which lights up pretty bright. You can take photos and videos with this unit as well and they are pretty crisp images too.I also like that it came with an SD card, charging cable, and doesn’t need replaceable batteries. I have been playing around with it for a few weeks and the battery is still showing fully charged. The unit comes with a 50ft cable that is pretty ridge but the one complaint I had was when I used in a sink, toilet, or even the shower, I was not able to easily snake around the U traps. I am guessing if I had a pipe/cable snake, that would help to moving the cable around easier. Being this is my first borescope, I can’t say if that is how these things are or not, but would adjust my rating accordingly. Plus, not sure if/how you would ever need 50ft of cable, but I guess its there if needed.I have been playing around with it in the sink and shower drains pipes, along with the toilet. But the one thing I have used it for a lot is the garbage disposal. I like that I can put the camera down there to see what is stuck in there or grinding up. I also dropped my ring in there once and this helped me get it out. Another thing I used it for was to look under the stove and fridge, as I can go all the way to the back and see what’s under there.Overall, I think this is a decent option I would recommend and would also suggest getting a pipe snake to manipulate through the pipes. As this isn’t something I would use every day, I will be sure to update this post in the future if it doesn’t live up to my expectations.

    Chimney flue inspection.
Had a chimney fire. Couldn’t get an inspector out until mid January. So I ordered the camera and lowered it through the chimney liner to see for myself. All good, no damage. Was cheaper than getting someone out.

    The screen is so clear!
What a useful tool! This so-called sewer camera is one handy tool. I needed something to see what’s been blocking our exterior pipes and causing some backup as I have tried a snake and blower to unclog the pipes with no luck. Then I came across this and was able to snake this down and see what’s been causing the backup. The clarity of the 1080P camera and screen was awesome. I can see why this is a must for all the plumbers out there. This also saved me $$$ from getting a plumber to clear the pipes out because the initial tools I used couldn’t do the job.I highly recommend picking one of these up. This thing can snake anywhere–from toilets to sewers, to roof drains. Anywhere you need to see that the sun don’t shine, this is your answer. This is a great find.

    NOT for shower
It did NOT work for shower drain. First it did NOT pass the P-Trap, & I didn’t want to push it hard to prevent a break in P Trap. Second once it is in the water / shower drainage pipe, visibility was very very low. I couldn’t make out anything except particles floating around. Couldn’t make out the side walls of the pipe either. maybe it is good for dry space but not in water.

This is the 3rd borescope I’ve ever owned and it is by far the best!Advantages:- Large IPS display has an amazing view angle with sharp clarity and color.- There doesn’t appear to be any LED light orb ghosting! (The other 2 types I’ve owned have had this issue where the LED lights on the device would cause light splotches that distorted the picture. That doesn’t appear to be the case here)- The semi-hard case is very forgiving when it comes to packing things away. While a 50ft cord is nice for deep dives, re-coiling it neatly can be a challenge. Fortunately, the included case has plenty enough flex and space that you don’t have to be perfect with packing things up.- File transfer is easy with just connecting the device via the supplied USB-C cable. You can also use the memory card too if you prefer but using the USB makes it as easy as getting photos off your phone.- 3 camera angles!!! I can’t stress enough how amazing this feature is, especially if you’ve ever used on of these that has just 1 camera. With the push of a button you can swap between the 3 cameras and each has their own LED light with controllable brightness. Often times when snaking these through a wall you’ll get to a point where you just can’t bend to get the view you want straight on, but with the 3 cameras you’ll always be able to get a view of the surrounding area. Very handy! Not quite as good as a moveable end but this is definitely the next best thing.- 50 Foot cable… this is good and bad. It’s great if you need the distance but it’s a bit overkill for most needs which leads to a lot of bulk of having extra cable around you when trying to use it and when packing away.Disadvantages:- The pictures it takes are not very high quality. The image definitely looks much better live on the device for some reason. But they’re good enough to get the idea of what you’re looking at.Overall, I’m very impressed with this device and I can see this making a really great gift for a handyman. I’d even recommend this for any homeowner as it’s a great way to be able to check behind things, tough to reach places and even to check potential pest holes. Highly reccomended!

I have been using a DEPSTECH borescope with my phone and decided to upgrade to the 50FT Triple Lens Sewer Camera with a 5″ IPS Screen, and I’m so glad I did. This borescope is perfect for my needs. The additional reach of the 50ft cable, combined with the three cameras and dedicated IPS screen, make it ideal for inspecting walls, plumbing, and automotive engines. The 1080P resolution and built-in light ensure clear and detailed visuals. This device has made my inspections much more efficient and thorough. Highly recommended for anyone needing a reliable and high-quality inspection tool

This product has proven to be an incredibly useful tool for a variety of inspection needs. From checking plumbing pipes to inspecting tight spaces in engines, this endoscope delivers outstanding performance and image quality. The 5″ IPS screen is bright and crisp, making it easy to see every detail during inspections. The triple-lens system is fantastic. Having three lenses allows for different viewing angles without the need to constantly reposition the camera, saving both time and effort. The picture clarity is excellent, and the additional 7 LED lights ensure clear visibility even in the darkest areas. The 50-foot detachable semi-rigid cable is perfect for reaching deep or hard-to-access areas while still being flexible enough to navigate tight turns. The fact that it’s IP67 waterproof makes it safe to use in wet environments, such as drains and outdoor spaces.Setting it up was simple, and the user interface is intuitive, even for someone who has never used a borescope before. The ability to take photos and videos is a bonus for documenting issues for later reference.Overall, I am very happy with this item and I would recommend it.

This review is for the awesome Depstech BorescopeThe Borescope comes supplied in a fantastic softwrap storage case, protective lining for the screen and borescope cable, as part of the lid section, there is a mesh pocket for the instruction book, and additional end attachmentsThe Inspection camera has a high quality 5in display, with several rubber coated buttons for menu and lighting controls. The 50ft (15mtr) of borescope cable is permanently attached to the screen body, the cable (for wants of a better word) is semi-ridged, so if manipulated into a straight length, it’ll hold its shape (obviously the ‘cable’ can only hold its ridged straight line for a meter or so)The Camera body has a built-in rechargeable battery (via USB-C), and a micro-SD card slot, and comes complete with a 32GB card so you can start using straight out of the caseThe Image is very clear, the spec states 1080, but others have noted the file size more implies its a high 720 … but either way, on the 5in screen the image is as good as you’d get on a mobile phoneI’ve played with the camera so much already, and it’s already starting to pay for itself, having poked down the back of our sofa, it highlighted a £1 coin … winner (oh and some fluff)The set also come with a Hook end attachment and a magnet attachment , both slip on the end of the camera well and unlikely to just pop offThe 8mm head of the borescope has 3 camera heads, forward looking as well as side looking, each selectable from the screen control buttons, as well as in-built dimmable lighting, finally the head and cable are waterproof to IP67 … so fine for water drains tooProbably not something you’ll use everyday, but a fantastic piece of kit for those days you want to look into spaces you can’t ordinarily see …. pipes, drains, loft spaces, under floorboards, car enginesAt £139 (at the time of review) its a good price for a HIGH Quality piece of kit

I always wanted one of these borescopes so I could look down pipes, conduits or engines. It’s one of those things, unless you are a mechanic you may one use once in awhile, but when you need it they sure do some in handy. That’s why I was super excited to order the DEPSTECH Triple Lens Borescope! On paper the DEPSTECH looks fantastic with all its features. Firstly, it is very well made. The case for the screen feels very sturdy and of high quality impact resistant plastic. The screen is also a great size at 5″. It’s an IPS screen so it’s nice and bright, but unfortunately I could not find the specs for the resolution of the screen. It looks fine for this purpose though. Beside the screen is the control panel, which thankfully uses large, rubbery buttons. At the bottom of the screen part there is a silicone flap, that when flipped up, reveals the USB-C charge and data port, a charge indicator LED and the micro SD card slot. Note no SD card adapter is provided for you if you need to transfer images to a computer (more on this later!). However, to my surprise a 32GB SD card was included and installed already from factory. There is also a pinhole reset button at the bottom. As for the cable, it is 50 ft long and semi-rigid, just like it is described in the product specs. This means you can bend it and it will stay in that position. It’s also sheathed in a rubbery texture. One note though, the cable is not removeable. It would have been nice to be able to remove it but honestly it wasn’t a big deal. They include a couple Velcro straps to tie the 50 ft cable together so it’s easier to handle. The “tip”, where the cameras and LEDs reside is about 2″ long and this part is completely rigid. The DEPSTECH Borescope is fairly simple to use. There is one orange power on button. You just long press it to turn the borescope on or off. Once you turn it on the main camera and LED turns on. This is the camera that points straight out the end of the cable. There is button on top of the panel that allows you to take a photo, by single pressing, or record a video by long pressing. You will find that the controls are unfortunately mostly like this. It’s a bit unintuitive to use until you get used to it. I find I get used to it while I am using it, but next time I come back around I forget again lol. There is a button with a circular arrow, which can be used to rotate the image 180 degrees (for main camera), or by long pressing for 2s to switch camera views (cycles through the sides and then back to the main). Icons will show up on the top of the screen to tell you when the image is 180 degrees and the camera that is active, labelled “A”, “B” and “C”. The corresponding LED lights up for whatever camera is active. This LED brightness can be adjusted by pressing either the left or right arrow buttons. If you want to take a photo of the image you can press the top camera button. If you want to take a video you and press the same button for 2s. To access the saved files you can press the “OK” button for 2s to access the file folder (for image and video). Lastly there is a gear icon button to access settings. To navigate the settings (which is structured up/down) you need to use the Left and Right Arrow buttons, and then the OK button to select.. Overall the cameras are easy to use but, as you can hopefully see, the controls are sometimes unintuitive to use.The image quality is quite good for the cameras.. They do take images and video at FHD. They seem to have a good focal length. I can make things out clearly in the picture. The cameras are waterproof, however the instruction manual does mention it is a precision piece of equipment. There are some recommendations for heat (the cable is not heat resistant) and the probe should be protected from scratches. As such I don’t know how well the cameras will fare going down clogged drains, etc, and whether the lens will get scratched up. Only time will tell. There are also a couple tool attachments that goes at the front of the probe. They include a small magnet and a small hook attachment so you can retrieve things like lost keys or metal objects down pipes, etc. The design of this feature is my only real complaint about the DEPSTECH. To attach a tool you must first unscrew this little barrel cover from the tip of the probe. Mine was on there tight so it took me some time to finally unscrew that. Then you have to carefully screw the tool on. This also took some time as I could not properly thread the tool on. It would continuously go on crooked, and I didn’t want to screw up the threads there as they are very fine. Overall it was a bit frustrating to get the tool on there. Once on it does also block the view (but that must be the case for all these borescopes with tool on). Also the cable cannot go down pipes with tight turns. The front 2″ do not bend so the entire cable can only accommodate a certain amount of turn radius. As mentioned before, images and videos are stored on an SD card (again 32GB was included in my package). The instruction manual stated you can get get these files off in two ways. First, is to remove the SD card and read it in a computer. Second, is to connect up the USB cable from the DEPSTECH to a computer. I tried the latter way but it would never show up on my Windows 11 Dell Laptop. The DEPSTECH Borescope itself shows the icon on the screen that it is connected to a computer but the USB was never recognized on the PC. In the end I had to remove the micro SD, use an full-size SD card adapter I own, and insert it into my laptop to access the files. If you need to get files off regularly this is an inconvenient way. Ideally the USB cable worked, or alternatively, even better, is wifi or some other wireless way to get files off.I forgot to mention earlier too. The DEPSTECH Borescope comes with a really nice zipped hard case. It has a secure area for the screen part and then a separate area for you to coil the cable. On the cover there is a zipped mesh pocket to store the little tools (you get a pill type bottle), the USB cable and the instruction manual. The case will definitely protect your borescope well!All-in-all the DEPSTECH is a fantastic borescope. It’s unique with 3 cameras, so you can get front view as well as 2 size views. The quality of the cameras is very good too. The LED lights are very bright too. You also have the ability to take photos or a video, which is very useful to record for future viewing. It comes with a 32GB SD card, which should be a lot of space to store images. You also get a large 5″ screen, allowing you to see details right from the borescope itself. I’ve seen some other scopes with tiny screens you need to squint to see any details. On the downside though, the DEPSTECH while waterproof rated is not temperature rated. DEPSTECH also recommends care with the scope to avoid scratching, so I don’t yet know how sturdy the scope is. The 50 ft cable is very sturdy on the other hand, but I wish it was detachable from the screen part. This would make post viewing of images easier, without having the weight of the cable as you hold the screen. The little tool attachment on the scope is also a bit finnicky. Having to unscrew this tiny ring part just to be able to screw on the tool is a pain. I know one day I will lose that little ring. Ideally the DEPSTECH just had the screws exposed so you can screw on the tools directly.. I also found the double use of a few of the buttons a little unintuitive to use. The markings are not the best to indicate their double function. Lastly, I could not register the DEPSTECH on the PC when connected via USB. To get images/videos off I had to pull out the micro SD card. As no adapter is provided I had to get my own to be able to plug it into my laptop. Maybe some laptops come with micro-SD card slot, which would save the extra hassle of finding or buying an adapter. The list of cons is a bit long, but I don’t think any of them are deal-breakers. I listed them more for you to be aware of them. In the end, the main use/function of the scope works great.
