Better than IPL, still less effective than real laser hair removal
I got this after my Braun IPL ran out of flashes. Based on my research, this item seems to currently be the strongest at-home laser hair removal device. It is definitely more effective than the my old device, and doesn’t hurt my eyes. It does hurt a little bit compared to the painless IPL, but it’s almost not noticeable. Some hair that the IPL was not able to get rid of is fading away, but it’s still not perfect. I used to get real laser with a professional, and you can’t expect the same results with this device. It still gets the job done to some extent with a fraction of the cost. Also, I have olive skin, and even though the company recommended their other device for dark skin tones for me, I decided to buy this one. I have not had any problems with this, even though it’s stronger than the dark tones device. If you are deciding between IPLs and this device, this is definitely worth the price difference.

I am still using it more than recommended, but it is working. I let it flash in one area two to three times before moving. this some times give a slight discomfort but not anything overbering.

It does NOT work
I bought this laser based on some reviews stating that it works. I used it as instructed for a few weeks, and nothing happened. It did absolutely NOTHING.Please do not buy it; do not waste your money and time.Thankfully, I bought it during the extended return period, so I returned it, but I am still waiting for my refund.

Amazed with the results so far
I am impressed! I got this devoce to permanently remove facial hair. I have always had thick dark side burns and as I get older then odd chin hair has turned into a few patches of coarse dark hair. I have and the device for 3 weeks and have seen a significant reduction in growth speed and about a 25% reduction in over all hair growth.Pros:I have seen a reduction in both hair growth and growth speed.The device is easy to use and quick. Including prep time it takes about 20- 30 minutes for my face and legs.After only 3 weeks hair is slower to grow is finer and have fewer hairs growing back.Cons:It is not painless especially for thick dark hairs like a beard or side burnsI have had less success with the hairs on the sides of my chin because the device is hard to place properly in the less flat areas of the face.I am beyond pleased with this device so far and believe with some trial and error I can get the chin hairs too.

I was really happy to find a diode system as it is the only thing that really works. I have done some sessions in a professional salon using diode laser about 15 years ago and it was very very effective. So even if this system is diode-dased, it is not ever gone to burn the follicle in anyways.It’s a bit of my fault, I read the description to fast and saw 27J/cm2, when it is actually for the delivery surface, the Dermrays v8s only delivers 9J/cm2 which isn’t enough in anyway to penetrate the skin up to the follicle. At least 20J/cm2 is need to do so. For comparison, in the salon the operator set it up to 38J/cm2 since I have a white skin and black hair.So why some people are happy with this one? Well actually what you get is a laser razor that burns the hair while it’s growing making it thinner, but don’t get too exited, as soon as you’ll stop using it it will get back to what it was…So if you are happy to get to spend the rest of your life using that everyday for a “meh’ result, here you go. I found some diode systems online that deliver 27J/cm2 and I’m going to try that. Meanwhile this one will be returned, it too expensive for a razor.

This laser hair remover works very well. It hurts a bit to use but I kind of expected a little pain. The results have been pretty nice, slowly but surely working more and more.
