C-wire mod for smart thermostat
This transformer works perfectly to provide c-wire voltage (24 VAC) to an Emerson Sensi Smart, wifi thermostat, on a two wire, heat only heating system. Simply connect the two wires between the R (or Rh or Rc) and C terminals and it will provide the operating voltage to the thermostat, independent of the 24 VAC the stat uses to call for heat. Running off the thermostat batteries worked, but if the thermostat calls for heat often, they will go dead every month, and then the thermostat stops working, just when you need it most. Bought a second transformer for my second zone running the same thermostat model.

worked exactly as advertised!
came quickly, easy to install, works perfectly

Does exactly what it’s supposed to
Works perfectly with my smart thermostats (Honeywell T5). Power cord is nice and long too, so you don’t have to worry if you don’t have an outlet right next to the thermostat.

Works, brought my furnace to life
I used this to give my thermostat the 24v signal to kick on my thermostat instead of the 24v transformer inside of the furnace itself. I disconnected the transformer inside the furnace and put the solid white wire on the red wire terminal, the white and gray wire on the common as well as the system’s original blue wire. I left the red wire from the hvac system disconnected from the thermostat. It worked immediately. One minor bother is that the polarity of the wires isn’t clear. It’s not stated anywhere and it’s not clear which wire goes to the power and which goes to the common.

Recommend!
âThe AC 24 Volt Transformer is fantastic! It arrived super fast, with no damages at all, and the setup was a breeze. Itâs compatible with all versions of the Ring Doorbell and works perfectly with my Ecobee thermostat. The 315â long cable gives me plenty of flexibility for installation. I also appreciated the great customer service throughout the processâvery responsive and helpful. This transformer has been a game-changer, and Iâm thoroughly impressed. Highly recommend it for anyone needing a reliable and efficient power solution!â

Works great with the Nest E thermostat as a Common (C) wire
This transformer works to provide constant power to the thermostat if your furnace doesn’t provide enough power. If your furnace is a millivolt system, like a top-vent gravity wall furnace, then you’ll need this. For the Nest E for instance with my system, I connected the thermostat and transformer as such:1. One end of the transformer wire and the red R-wire for heat/cool to the ‘R’ terminal.2. The other end of the transformer to the ‘C’ terminal.3. The other furnace wire (likely white) to the ‘W’ terminal.4. Put the thermostat back on its base.4. Plugged in the transformer. This configuration should keep your thermostat powered. I’ve had this configuration for 2 months and it works well.

works BUT if N261 error or ambient temp is off check this
I wired 4 of these in my house with 4 google nest thermostats. I used a butt splice connector to join the stranded wire and solid wire and the. added a solid pig tail wire to connect to base (as shown in pic).I have a boiler only (heat) 2 wire system. All installs were flawless except for the final one. I noticed the ambient room temperature was 10+ degrees too high and I was eventually getting an equipment error N261. I checked all the wiring repeatedly and. could not see any issues. I grabbed a multi meter and tested all my working thermostats and my one that was not working along with the transformers. Everything checked out between all the wired bases except when I put the multi meter on the existing white wire that was in the wall and the new commom wire. My other other bases was reading 2.1 or so and the base that was not working read 50 or so. I swapped the transformer wire that was connected to the red wire and ultimately R on the base and the white wire that was in the common. After that my multi meter readings matched the other bases. The ambient temperature reads correctly and the N261 error went awayâ¦The directions say use white transformer wires interchangeably between C and R. That was not the case for this one thermostat base and transformer. I did not pay attention to what white transformer wires I was using for the other base installationsâ¦maybe I got lucky 3 times!? Any how maybe this will help someone else.

Don’t waste your money only lasted 10 months.
Buy an actual Ring brand unit and extend the wire if you have to. Only reason I tried this one was because I needed more than 10 feet of wire to get to the doorbell camera. It’s not that difficult to do. This unit only lasted 10 months. The voltage still measured 24 vac, but the output amperage would not keep the battery in the camera charged and it would eventually drain out. Spend the little extra money on the Ring unit. At least you can be confident that they will replace it if it fails.

Delighted with my purchase of this television

I have a two-wire millivolt fireplace that didnât have a C-wire for my Sensi smart thermostat (which worked as a regular thermostat instead). This very inexpensive adapter turned my simple fireplace into a smart one now controlled by the Sensi app and Alexa. Itâs a really good solution to a vexing problem. Includes wiring instructions and a lot of wire to run from the thermostat to the electrical outlet. You can also trim the wires to length.
