Why is my power bank providing fewer charges than expected?
The capacity reduction during charging is due to a 30% to 45% energy loss in the battery cells and conversion circuitry. Therefore, a fully charged Anker A1610 Battery (PowerCore 5K) offers an estimated 2,750mAh~3,250mAh to power devices.
How can I estimate the number of charges for my device?
To estimate charging cycles, use these formula:
(Power Bank Capacity × 0.5) ÷ Device Battery Capacity ≈ Number of Charges.
For instance, charging a 3,000mAh device using a 5,000mAh Wireless power bank would offer approximately 0.83 charges.
Why does charging stop at 80%?
Your iPhone may automatically stop charging at 80% to protect its battery from overheating, as part of iOS 17’s thermal management strategy. Charging will resume once the device cools down. Moving it to a cooler spot can help speed up this process.
Why is my phone overheating?
It’s normal for devices to warm up slightly during wireless charging, particularly with heavy use like extensive gaming or streaming. Rest assured, this device meets international safety standards for safe operation.

Fantastic little device providing effortless freedom
I have a lot of power banks and this is one of my favorites. Other people with different needs could justifiably say itâs one of the most useless.I already have plenty of large power banks, from 10-20k mah qi chargers to 30k mah beasts that charge laptops at 100w. This charger is very different. My iPhone 14 Pro Max battery is 4,232 mah and wireless charging is not terribly efficient, so this 5,000 mah magnetic power bank doesnât fully charge my phone. It also only provides 7.5w so it doesnât charge it very fast. This is not a battery pack to quickly take you from 0-100% multiple times during a week away from outlets.I love this thing because it provides a kind of freedom those bigger units donât. Even the fairly slim 10k mah qi chargers I have are basically like carrying another slightly bigger phone and without magnets they wonât wirelessly charge in your pocket. You have to sit them down flat or bring a cable with you. And to be honest I donât need to bring 2+ extra phone charges with me every day. This one is barely noticeable when I slip it into my pocket in the morning. Itâs a little longer than a credit card (used up gift card in the picture, sorry guys) and thinner than my phone in a case. Much thinner than my AirPods Pro (which this battery will also charge). And it weighs 0.28 lbs, about a quarter of what my phone in modest leather case weighs. My recorded test matches daily use, it took my iPhone 14 Pro Max from 9-73% in about two hours. Slow and 64% of my battery. And exactly what I want from it.My phone already lasts a long time, this just provides peace of mind or still gives me a day of wireless freedom if I left the house with my phone under 30%. Itâs tiny, weighs almost nothing, and guarantees I make it through even the longest day without any hint of concern about my phone battery. And to be honest I normally charge my phone from about 20-85%, so even though itâs far shy of 100% it seems like a full charge to me. For those of you with normal size phones instead of maxes, your 3,200 mah / my 4,232 = 75.6%. So if I get 64% / .756 smaller battery = an estimated 85% charge for you guys. Also to address the people complaining about heat – the back of the battery does warm up in your palm, but it keeps the charging side and the phone comparatively cool. As someone whoâs had a malfunctioning MagSafe charger before kicking off serious heat, youâll know when somethingâs wrong. This bit of warmth is not a problem. In summary, this isnât a powerhouse that fully charges your phone all week. This is a tiny, light as air, barely noticeable extra 64-85% of a phone charge that gets you through long days or times youâre leaving in a hurry with a depleted phone. It is the most convenient gadget I own, discreetly charging my phone in my pocket without a cable. Other clunkier batteries can keep me away from outlets for a week, but this one effortlessly gets me through everyday life.

First impression
Just received this to replace another same type battery but that one would go on then just shut off for no apparent reason. I do have an IP-12 and i use a pretty heavy case so i wasn’t sure how these type of batteries were going to work.I installed the metal ring on back of case and as it held battery ok it just wouldn’t charge. So i bought this Anker to try it as i do like Anker batteries. Well right away it stuck right to my case and immediately started to charge. I was still skeptical. I just waiting to see if it shuts off and it never really did. Yes it gets warm just like the other battery, but that’s the characteristic of this type of charging. But I have to tell you this thing grips much better than the other battery I had, maybe it has something to do with being a MagSafe battery I don’t know that’s why I wanted to try the Anker as its not a Magsafe but a Maggo and boast that it has a much stronger magnet, and I can Contest to that. It’s not the fastest charger but it does charge. It is probably taking me an hour and a half hour to go from 60% to 95% for me that’s OK. It’s meant to be more of a rescue battery to basically get you through the rest of your day, my phone that has relatively small battery. This battery probably would charge it fully but The newer phones have larger batteries. This probably will maybe get you 80% which is just enough to get you through the rest of your day.Yes, heat is a factor and some people complain about it and some people understand It’s a necessary phenomenon in this kind of charging, this case with the heat temperature gun i saw134 degrees at its peak but it does go thru cycles of heat and cool as internal thermostat kicks in. To me thats a minor inconvenience, but it does not heat up your phone. The heat stays within the battery itself and it does not radiate to your phone. So far so good i using it now to write this and as the charge percent is not rising as fast as it did when I wasn’t using the phone. It’s basically holding the percent at one particular spot right now.So in closing, if you have a heavy duty case, try it, it might work get the rings and put them on the back of your case and see what happens. My rings came with a template which is not easy to use with a heavier case so what I did is I attach the ring to the actual battery And I moved the battery on the back of the case where I found a nice spot where the phone always went on charge every time I hit that spot and then I remove the plastic on the ring went back to push the battery down on that spot removed it push the ring down by hand make sure it was good And that’s it, sometimes that’s more accurate than using a template. I do agree that the thickness of the case plays a big roll in whether this will work or not, but what do you got to lose if it doesn’t work you can return the battery or buy a new case that’s thinner and will work better.

Itâs been great
I have an iPhone 12 and the portable charger works and feels perfect. Not too bulky but just good enough and has a nice finish on the MagSafe part. Charges the phone at a normal pace really helps when your battery dies but the unit itself charges slow. The charging port is two-way meaning it can charge and be charged from the same port. Also I have no clue what they made this of but if it ever falls on something solid I guarantee that your neighbor five doors down would hear it.

Works well but has misleading led indicator
TL;DR: works well but the battery indicator is a bit confusing. The Anker 621 has decent build quality and feels solid. Itâs a bit thinner and lighter than my s/oâs Anker 622 but doesnât have a stand as a trade off. It charges wirelessly as expected though does get a bit hot.Overall Iâm pretty pleased, the only one strange callout is that if you keep it plugged into a charging cable, (with the wireless charging pad facing up) the right most LED continues blinking giving you the idea that itâs still charging. However, the right most LED is just a charging pad indicator (letting you know it can wirelessly charge a device while the cable is plugged inâacting like a charging pad).Only the four left most LEDs are the battery level indicator (which turn off when fully charged). This isnât very intuitive and made me think the battery was bad from the factory.

Although its limited to 7.5W of wireless charge, its very convenient for that extra boost to keep going. Sure there’s heat, but that’s basic physics. Anyone looking for a minimalistic EDC needs this. The silicon backing that mates to your phone provides good contact and the magnet is strong. Slim design makes holding your phone and the power bank very comfortable. Even on an S24+, the battery works well. Looking forward to trying out the 10mAh slim wireless power bank.

Consigliatissima! ðâ¨
