Update: Drops 2.4GhZ constantly, poor support,No WLAN button, refurbished units need a factory reset
Update: This is terribleI regret getting a modem/router combo. If one fails you are in a bad spot. I use smart home devices that primarily use 2.4GhZ only and the router keeps dropping the signal; nothing works; things reset. Arris support? They want me to send it back after verifying it was faulty *without sending a replacement* so Iâll justâ¦. Have no internet? That, or I have to pay the full cost until they receive the old one. I canât do that right now. I canât afford to have this fail and canât afford to front the cost of a second unit. I got a refurbished SBG8300-RB DOCIS 3.1 WiFiunit and it was about $120. It was impossible to change the network name or password until I found the number for support in a PDF manual online. . There is a hole at the top in the back you must press and hold for 15 seconds until it resets. Otherwise, it will ask you for the email of the previous owner when trying to log in. This should have been done while refurbishing the unit.There is also no WLAN button, which you can click on some models which makes it search and pair with devices easier. Without it, connecting things like a printer is a tedious process.

Doesn’t have the longest life.
After only 2 years of owning this, it has become unreliable and unstable. The modem/router frequently drops internet quality and connection – I had a tech from xfinity come out and test the cables, and the cable feeds 1gbps, but the modem/router is only putting out 560mbps.

Just as good as buying new. set up was easy and did have to call my internet service to complete install but it did not take very long. The package was an arris refurbish box and the new modem was covered in the factory protection. I found no signs of damage or previous use. I have bought refurbished items in the past and always received a quality item this is no different the item meets my expectations.

Terrific Surfboard aka Modem Router Combination.
Provides magnificent Wi-Fi throughout the house and way out into my yard, saving me from $20-$60/month on my Cell Phone Gigs used. It also saves me from my Cable Company’s $14/month Rental Fees (this ARRIS SBG8300 is actually free after the first 11-12 months, from No Cable Bills)! Excellent Cable Viewing from the basic Network News, Live Sports and to every Streaming Service available. My TV screen has a clear, crisp sound and picture. The only problems I’ve run into, since my purchase 9 months ago, were directly from my Cable and Internet Provider. I chose a Refurbished Unit and a lot of Insurance but, I have had Zero issues with my device.âï¸ The ARRIS SBG8300 DOCSIS 3.1 MODEM/ ROUTER was an excellent choice.â´ï¸ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
