The ASUS RT-AX57 is a dual-band Wi-Fi router that provides 160MHz bandwidth. With up to 4X higher network capacity, it can handle more streaming, gaming, and smart home devices simultaneously. The more efficient transmission scheduling can also greatly extend the battery life of your IoT gadgets and reduce network congestion. Disclaimer: Actual data throughput and WiFi coverage will vary from network conditions and environmental factors, including the volume of network traffic, building material and construction, and network overhead, result in lower actual data throughput and wireless coverage.
New-Gen WiFi Standard – Supporting 802.11ax WiFi standard for better efficiency and throughput.
Ultra-fast WiFi Speed – RT-AX57 supports 1024-QAM for dramatically faster wireless connections. With a total networking speed of about 3000Mbps — 574 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 2402 Mbps on the 5GHz band.
Increase Capacity and Efficiency – Supporting not only MU-MIMO but also OFDMA technique to efficiently allocate channels, communicating with multiple devices simultaneously.
Commercial-grade Security Anywhere – Protect your home network with AiProtection Classic, powered by Trend Micro. And when away from home, ASUS Instant Guard gives you a one-click secure VPN.
Easy Extendable Network – Enjoy seamless roaming with rich, advanced features by adding any AiMesh-compatible router.

Great router
Replaced my tp-link router as soon as I heard about a possible ban on tp-link in the US.Iâve had the router for a couple months now and itâs very reliable. The app makes it easy to manage your home network and perform updates.Really great value.Only thing I had issues with was the initial setup. I had to enable location services for the app for my phone to connect to the router using the app. Also, the instructions only have router set up with a modem. Itâs doesnât have a fiber set up.If your home internet doesnât use a modem, a coax cable plugging into the network device, but only an Ethernet cable. Then thatâs all you need to plug in.

If youâre a gamer or someone who relies on connection speed.
Iâm a gamer and remote worker, So I wanted Two things from this router. 1. was to get better Wifi and connection speeds/stability and with updated technology in general which means this thing has newer technology than what was available in my basic router that My ISP provides. 2. I needed options to see security and other features not available to me from my other router. So I got that and then some. With the ability to customize my router settings unlike with my ISP router I was able to setup the newer technology in the Menu. Which is the router settings page. Firefox worked perfectly and connected to the router immediately. The router setup was easy but I was cautious. It prompted to UPDATE FIRMWARE which I and almost everybody recommend just make sure theirs no other programs running on the PC. I used Asus recommendations on their website for best security. I couldnt mess with these settings on my old router because my ISP locked down the page. I would recommend this if you need a more reliable router than your ISP provides. Its much better, trust me. I instantly saw the speed increase and it doesnt buffer at all when watching TV or on PC. Very smooth. So the gaming is far better experience than before. Im getting better latency in games like MW3 which has terrible servers to begin with. Sure you canât get rid of the packet burst completely because of this. But this helps very much and Im glad I bought this. In the future who knows I might get something better and use this for its mesh capability. So there is that option. But honestly I couldn’t ask for much more. Just make sure you research and turn off certain features that you dont need. Asus has recommendations that should help even in the settings page UI. Side note, I love MSI and ASUS boxes their nice quality.

Works and easy mesh hookup.
Replaced an Asus router that kept dropping that was only a year old. Still stuck with Asus due to my main router was heavy money and still running strong. Hooked this up and went right into mesh system off the app and is running great. With both routers going I can cover the whole house and even outside up to 100 feet. Yes, a little overkill but if you are spending the money, go big.

Capable Little Router for Simple Needs
For anyone who just needs to connect to the Internet simply and securely, then this RT-AX57 will readily deliver. Either the companion app or web ui (both fully featured) will easily get things up and running, and the built-in, FREE antimalware offers an extra layer of protection if not peace of mind. Performance, for the most part, was great, although in my case, not perfect. Signal was strong throughout my small Cape Cod style house. The router was in the first floor, north side of my home, and my PC is on the second floor, south side. My PC was able to fully utilize the entire 500down/20up Mbs of my data plan. My Pixel 6, with its relatively weaker antennas, hovered roughly around 300/18 at similar distances. That was with QoS turned off, however. With QoS turned on, no device, including one wired PC, would go past 270/16. My brother and I game regularly, and halving download speeds for multi-gig updates for our games was supremely inconvenient. Turning QoS off to get higher bandwidth introduced frequent lag spikes. Due to this, I sadly decided to return the RT-AX57 and replaced it with a much more capable (and expensive) Asus XT8 two-pack. The XT8 consistently delivers about 480up/18down with QoS turned on, which is expected since QoS should prevent a single device from hogging the entire bandwidth.I also had issues with a couple of smart bulbs and a smart plug regularly disconnecting. They are older models, however, and from an off-brand that I bought from 5 Below. These issues have been fixed with the XT8, but anyone with smart devices from reputable big brands I doubt would have the same issues. Still another reason for me to return the RT-AX57.If I lived by myself and didn’t own a couple of off-brand smart appliances, I’d be plenty happy with the RT-AX57. It has all the perks of a basic WiFi 6 router (OFDMA, WPA3, enhanced MU-MIMO, 160Mhz, 1024 QAM, etc) with the addition of FREE antimalware, but the QoS and smart appliance issues killed it for me. I’d still recommend the RT-AX57, though, for households with modest needs.

Only lasted 9 months. DONâT BUY!.
I decided to try to save some money and buy my own modem and router instead of renting from spectrum. Well I must say that was a mistake.Spectrum did come and install the modem and the ASUS router for me. When I received it in December. The router ran fine up until a couple days ago. Iâm not a tech guru when it come to modems and routers but Iâm pretty good with problem solving and researching.I finally caved and called customer support. Which took 1 and a half hours to come to the conclusion of 2 options.1- pay for shipping to send it in and let them have a look at it.2- wait 24-48 hours and someone will call you to try to help.Bottom line is Iâm taking this junk out and going back to spectrum.
