Feature rich, could overwhelm some
I work in IT, and I love this thing. Its feature set is Incredibly lengthy though, so if youâre not familiar with router setup and network maintenance, this might be a lot to take in.The USB 3.0 port works well for an external drive over the network. It has scheduled reboots (I highly recommend enabling them, as it does run hot. Again, network maintenance). The âgameâ filtering is awesome, and while it takes a bit of time to configure in a multi-console home, itâs noticeably (stability and lag reduction) better. Port forwarding is easy to setup, the VPN capability was a nice add on and it makes having âpersonal cloudâ easy if youâre not trying to break the bank on a NAS.The range is nuts, but we only have a 1200 ft home on a 1/2 acre property; this reaches well into our backyard, and covers down to the sidewalk with ease. I didnât expect it to reach beyond our garage, but it does (down to one bar signal there). Also works well with adding nodes from other ASUS products (I have not tested backyard range and performance on this, just the fact that it CAN do it with backhaul or WiFi).I bought this to upgrade over our previous ASUS mesh ZenWifi system which was three nodes, and this single router replaced our previous coverage. Planning to expand it by adding the nodes from that system on, and hopefully getting full yard/garage coverage in the process

Fully Controllable Interface with great speeds and ping
I love the full control of the nat type, wifi and lan, as well as wan with a built in free vpn that does not slow you down. 912Mbps at 30ms ping on 1gig internet with 2 other devices streaming tv. When enabling gaming mode my speed drops to 700Mbps with a 2ms ping so stronger connection with slower speed which is not an issue as it’s just a button click away if im downloading to get right back to the 912 and while faming, lower ping is better than higher speed. So id say Asus is how ive sworn for my gaming and wifi needs for years and they have never disspointed unlike netgear tplink and linksy. Dont waste your money folks get this and never have connection dropouts again.

Easy to setup and connect existing ASUS ZenWiFi XD4 Plus AX1800 Dual-band Mesh (XD4 Plus)
I purchased this router to be my main router and then integrate my existing Zen Wi-Fi nodes (3) around my house. I still need to work with how everything is configured. I am not seeing any speeds that were faster than before I purchased this router. I needed to extend my Wi-Fi signal to my front door because my Ring doorbell battery was draining fast due to my poor connection. Having a node right inside my door is my solution. All my apps on my smart tv are working well, except Paramount – because Paramount plus app sucks compared to all other apps. Prime is the best app by far!

Broke too many times
I had 3 of these routers. As far as performance, it was great. Im not sure why these things kept failing on me. Not once, not twice but 3 times. I ended up returning them. I love Asus routers but this one really dissapointed me. They didnt last. Sudden connection drops, had to reset to default so many times because suddenly it rejected all my devices and couldnt login to the settings either, ports on the back randomly stopped working, etc. I ended up getting an Asus ROG Pro AX1000 instead. Asus routers are great, but I would stay away from this one model.

Renewed ax82u exceeded my expectation by far. Bought it to upgrade modem_wifi combo (MG7700) even it worked Ok but occasionally it lost connections and 5GHz signal was weak. Smart connect is a default mode for my ax82u, it uses both 5GHz & 2.4GHz as one login and it distributes the data transmission through these channels as result I have 900Mbs vs old MG7700 200Mbs/5Ghz 80/2.4GHz. So far it works stable no lost connections. Old Wifi (in my case MG7700) should be disabled, it uses it just as a DOCSIS 3.0 modem.

Set it as a mesh unit from my original Asus router and all worked well. They are hardwired so cannot speak for using it in a wireless backhaul setup. Configuring the two was easy main router detected the new one press the mesh/bridge setup all done. Nice roaming experience in the home

Tenia ya muchos años el de pauete de fibra optica, y habian lugares donde el wifi no llegaba por ser 5, muy mal wifi por defult en ese modem. Al poner este en un ethernet y lude de desactivar firewall y activar dmz del modem para este que trae su proteccion propia para evitar el doble nat. Trabajo increible.El wifi 6 traspasa mejor las paredes y llega a toda la casa, dispositivos con wifi 5 funcionan bien y los de wifi 6 trabajan mas rapido.Activarlo no es sencillo, el wifi lo active rapido conla app, pero el ethernet no funcionaba, por lo que tienes que pagarlos ambos y encenderlo un par deveces para que lo reconozca bien.Se le pueden apagar la sluces es geniasl si lo tienes al lado de ti y te molesta.Muy pratico, no se calienta y casi no hace ruido. Pero lo mejor es la señal.Otra cosa para los gamers, si juegas shooters como yo…si tiene QOS y lo mejor es que el software te busca el juego y te abre los puertos, sigo con el mismo ping, pero super fluido, misma velocidad constante al 100 y nada de que ciertos disparos no dan o el lag random. Lo recomiendo

Ordered from a registered seller through Amazon. Router arrived quickly. Router was a referbished unit, I knew that. Referbished from Asus with 90 day warranty. Would not work, called Asus tech support and was told it was “out” of warranty! Wanted me to send them a picture of invoice and said they’d get back to me within 48 hrs. Unacceptable! Back it goes!!

Funciona muy bien, es reacondicionado. No viene en su caja original, pero trae todos los accesorios correspondientes. Funciona a la perfección, mejoró mucho la velocidad del internet en redes wifi. Normalmente juego FPS, la latencia está como si jugara con cale ethernet.

Tiene excelentes Opciones de Priorización de paquetes mediante QOS (Nativo de cisco), genera fragmentación positiva de paquetes lo que permite el ping baje, Utilice el servidor virtual para mejora de ruteo de paquetes y baja el ping mas o menos 4 ms desde mi punto en la red. Estoy jugando COD, me sirvió bastante, Los comandos de Alexa son geniales, ahora puedo activar a desactivar las redes de invitados entre otras cosas. Tiene excelente seguridad con IPS de 2 vÃas, quiero comentar que todos estos features los he probado 1 a 1. N, lA VELOCIDAD DE TRANSFERENCIA EN LOS LOS WIFFI ES MAS QUE BUENA CONTE 5.6 GB/S. Este producto necesita alguien que sepa algunas cosas para entender todas las capacidades de este animalito. Altamente recomendado, el WI es facil de llevar.
