The Infant Insert makes it possible to carry your small infant or newborn in your Tula Baby Carrier, and is required for use with a baby between 7-15 pounds. The insert enables the cozy carrying position, ensuring adequate head/neck support and healthy maturation of the spine in a front carry.
The Infant Insert includes an integrated harness which secures your baby to the insert.
The Infant Insert is recommended to securely and comfortably use our standard-sized Tula Baby Carrier with small infants, up to until your baby can sit independently with knees dangling down freely in an ergonomic spread squat position and is a minimum of 15 pounds.
When carrying a small infant or newborn, we do not recommend any other carrier modification or product for our Standard Tula Baby Carrier. The Infant Insert is not intended to be used in a back carry or to be used with our Toddler sized Tula Baby Carrier.

Love this newborn insert! I received a Tula baby carrier at my baby-shower and was eager to use it, so I purchased this newborn insert asap. Works great! Little one is snug-as-a-bug and typically falls asleep soon after getting in the carrier. We use it to go on weekly (moderate) hikes, grocery store runs, and even sometimes use it while doing household chires/tasks. Being a little more ‘hands free’ has made all the difference for me and has saved my shoulders tremendously! Doing the cradle hold all day was creating a bad pinch in my neck and using the carrier to transport little one around has been a savior.

Greatâthough it wasnât clear this was only for the Tula original.
It was nice to have an insert that helped baby fit in his Tula carrier as a newborn, howeverâit was not clear that this is only for the Tula original carrier, not the lite or other varieties! It does work in the Tula light but itâs not recommended by the manufacturer to use in any other model.I wish that were made more clear.
