Lights go off for no reason
Lights go off again and again all night with no motion detection. Tried resetting and new batteries but it keeps happening. Burns through a new set of D cell batteries in a week. Waiting to see if blink support has any ideas but as is the light hardware is pointless garbage.Update 12/14/24: Blink support worked with me by first replacing the light then replacing the camera itself. Once the camera was replaced the system works perfectly. Lights go off only when the camera detects motion. The lights are bright and provide plenty of light so the camera has a nice color picture at night.

Best outdoor camera
This is an amazing product and I am so grateful for its size. Iâm sad that I only purchased one on prime day. Iâm not a technical person, but this was so easy to install. The price I got it for was 64$ on prime day and Iâm sad to see the price go back up as I am trying to save my money for bigger adventures. Itâs so clear and comes with everything you would need for an outdoor camera. I can talk through the app. I can rewatch videos. It has a motion sensor, high quality night vision, and lights for night time. Will get again in the future for the back yard!!

Some helpful hints I hope
Okay, right out of the gate this is not some 24/7 recording with high def 4k, if you want that, move up a few hundred dollars. But this does record with a pretty good picture, as far as motion detection I have noticed Blink wired stuff is a lot more responsive, in my case with this battery ran device, yes there seems to be a few seconds delay, but I have found a work around, if you have an Alexa device and understand routines, I set up a routine for it to notify me via push and to announce motion detection, don’t ask me why, but that lag is gone, I sent my wife out to trigger it and immediately Alexa was saying motion at your floodlight, so quite happy with that, the Blink app was 3 almost 4 seconds behind with its notification of motion. But when you think of Blink devices dollar for dollar, you can’t go wrong, customer service for me has been very good, they have even replaced one of my cameras and they didn’t hesitate to do so after running a few tests, so another good thing is Blink will stand behind the products, Battery life, I will call Blink out, unless you limit your lights and cameras to almost useless, you will not get two years, not even close and I really like Blink but they should quit advertising that because it’s not true, unless again, you set it to lowest settings and extremely slow traffic area, well Blink, that’s not why we bought them, the lights are pretty bright, a little bit exaggerated by some, but it’s adequate, I have had Blink cameras and lights out in pretty extreme weather here in Michigan, rain, snow, cold and hot, a few of them are 5 years old and still going, so when we discuss prices of Blink compared to others, Blink is tremendous value, just remember it’s not high def 4k, it’s speaker and sound are not Bose quality, lol, so for me, it records pretty good, it alerts me and has lasted some years in kinda nasty weather, if you are expecting something else, roll out another 3 to 6 hundred and you can get that, for me Blink isn’t perfect, but it certainly does what it is supposed to do, and quite often when I read, oh mine misses events, or mine missed motion, I don’t doubt this, but quite often it’s low battery, low wifi signal etc, I keep my batteries up and I make sure it’s getting a good wifi signal, and I don’t have these problems,

Just spend the money and you wonât be disappointed
Pretty good cameras if you ask me. I didnât want anything complicated. I may be technical but I donât want to struggle with set up. Honestly pretty straight forward. My biggest concern was Wi-Fi setup. Itâs a little confusing with the little box setup . To hook up you need the little white box connected to your Wi-Fi and thatâs what your cameras ping off. I suggest keep them close to your router as must as you can for a better signal.(your camera distance from your white box plays a big part as well) And you need a phone you always use to use the app one. Your cameras will send notifications to the app so we definitely need to phone You will use every day so you can see the notifications .Find a spot where you want your camera and Mount it. Follow the instructions and you should be fine. Again the setup to Wi-Fi is the hardest part. Be sure to setup it first before you install that way youâre ready to go. All you have to do is adjust your camera angle and settings to what you like.I have three cameras and I had them for 3 months now. The picture quality is super clear at day and night itâs pretty good too. I love how you can hear whatâs going on outside and talk to people if needed. The biggest drawback is that it does terrible with fog of course and moisture will make your camera blurry. It does fairly well in the rain, though I would worry about the camera fogging up. Had that happen at night and couldnât see. I was really surprised that the rain didnât damaged the cameras. It was raining for days and yet no damage.The batteries lasted a little over 3 months. And this is having them on every day ,so first started with one camera first ,the AA batteries went out then the double D batteries. Then eventually that other spot I had a different camera went out, so Iâm assuming the last one will go out soon. You can start seeing the pattern on how long they last .And a large depends I would say on how much you use the record and how much lights go off and on the plus side the floodlights only go on at nightAnd the cost calculated it cost $54.08 for one pack of AA and DD if you buy together. Right now AA batteries are 33 bucks for 12 pack and a double D batteries from Amazon cost $17 for a 12 pack. Thatâs enough for 3 cameras . Times that but 4 and you get a grand total of $316.32 including the hundred dollars for the subscription per year. Not bad.Iâm sure Iâm forgetting something but I think thatâs the gist of it. I love the cameras, youâre not going to find an outdoor camera that is better than this. I spend hours a days deciding what to get. The reviews on Amazon are confusing to say the least. So many good and so many bad cameras. Than you got to read what the positives are and what the negatives are about this camera and that camera. . Blah blah I like what other people were saying about this camera and I was tired of going through the reviews so I took a chance and it worked out. I love the camera and I donât really have much bad to say about it. I think you w would love this camera. I never review products so this is a first for me. I want to get another camera at some point but no money for now
