One of the most versatile focal lengths available, the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens from Canon is a compact, normal-length prime well-suited to everyday shooting. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also affords increased control over depth of field for isolating subject matter. Individual elements feature a Super Spectra coating to help minimize flare and ghosting to realize greater contrast and color accuracy when working in backlit and harsh conditions. Additionally, an STM stepping AF motor is used to realize quick and near-silent autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override.
50mm focal length and maximum aperture of f/1.8
Great for portraits, action, and nighttime photography
Minimum focusing distance of 1.15 ft. (0.35m) and a maximum magnification of 0.21x
Stepping motor (STM) delivers near silent, continous Move Servo AF for movies and smooth AF for stills
80mm effective focal-length on APS-C cameras, 50mm on full-frame cameras

Affordable – Well Worth It!
This is a fantastic portrait lens. Been using for head shots, pics of my nieces and nephews, pet pictures, and some product photography. Super clear. Using on canon 90d which has 1.6 zoom factor so this lens acts more like an 80mm on my camera so you have to step back from the subject a decent amount, but still great to shoot with once you get used to it! Highly recommend for beginner lens

Great lens
Definitely gets the job done but I need more like a 1.2 instead of a 1.8.

The new nifty-fifty is worth every cent
For the price this is a fantastic lens. Just search nifty fifty and youâll see tons of reviews to support this. But I had the previous model and relied on it so much I decided to update to the newer (slightly more expensive) model. Which is even better. Same optics but quiet focus (great for video if you have a tripod or stabilizer) and closer minimum focus distance. Both improvements on the old.

Nifty fifty on Steroids
The nifty fifty revised, dxomark rates it at 29 perceptual megapixels (on the 5DS-R), and it is far much better than the L because they have not been designed for 50 megapixels sensors…been years since they have been launched and some have acquired is… Take one, try it, enjoy it it’s bang for the buck, to the point where it will pay itself 100times over.

Itâs a good lens for a good price. A nice performing prime lens for both beginners and enthusiasts. Small and lightweight, which makes it easy to always have with you. I donât have much to add, this lens has year of proven use for budget minded users.
Last time i ordered 3 Lenses and the supplier delivered one, it was very frustrating 𤨠–
