The RF15-30mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM ultra wide-angle zoom lens is a superb choice for video content creation and still image shooting, with features that help enhance both! On full-frame cameras, the 15mm ultra-wide focal length creates an incredible super-wide look, and the coverage all the way up to 30mm let’s you take images of tight interior spaces all the way to broad landscapes. This lens works great on APS-C sensor cameras too, like the EOS R7 and R10, giving you the full-frame equivalent focal range of 24–48mm. Even though this lens is lightweight at only 0.9 lbs, it feels solid in your hands, and has great optical performance with two Ultra-low Dispersion glass elements and one Aspherical element for sharp images, and crisp video. If you switch over to manual focusing The RF15-30mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM also has a unique close focusing feature that lets you focus almost to the surface of the lens at the 15mm zoom setting for creating some really unique images. The RF15-30mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM also comes with built-in Optical Image Stabilization to enhance your low-light shooting abilities by providing up to 5.5 stops* of shake correction, and up to 7 stops with coordinated IS. This lens is a great combination of portability, usability, price point, and exciting visual potential. Whether you are shooting stills or ideo, and are attaching it to a full-frame camera, or an APS-C camera, this lens deserves your attention, and a spot in your camera bag.

Good ultra-wide option
I think it’s sharp enough to produce decent results. I like the range it offers. I also like that it has optical image stabilization built-in. (Used on a Canon EOS RP.)

Perfecto for landscapes and wide
I purchased this lens for a trip to Peru where I needed a very wide angle lens for landscaping picture. As with all Canon lenses, great image quality in a solid quality lens. Is lightweight easy to carry. Perfect for the outdoors and filming with it in close spaces. Great lens.

Great value and an easy carry!
The wide range was missing from my lens cupboard and so I snapped up the Canon RF15-30mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM during the the Spring 2023 sale. Iâm using it on an EOS R6 MK II and focus is relatively quick and surefooted for both video and stills. The 5 stop IS combined with camera IBIS makes for steady hand held video. This optical design relies heavily on in-camera correction for distortion and vignetteâlots of computing going on inside the camera. However, resulting images are excellent: sharp and vivid. If I disable lens correction in Lightroom, the vignette and barreling at the wide end becomes apparent. My only real nitpick is the RF15-30 is more prone to flare with a bright light source in the frameâsunâthan I expected. Use of the EW 73E is recommended if you can find one. I had an old EW 73C from my EF-S 10-18 IS STM and it fits and works well, albeit lacks a lock and sometimes turns (causing a vignette). If youâre into low light images this lens probably isnât a good choiceâslow apertureâbut for most other purposes itâs a win. The sharp images, able stabilization, small form factor and light weight made the RF15-30 my favorite grab for travel, hiking and just walking around.

Nice wide angle and light
Pretty nice lens for the price. Pictures are very good and it’s nice and light. I thought about getting and adapter for older lenses. But I think I’m sticking with the RF line. I just switched back over to Canon. So I have to buy new lenses anyway.

I’ll be using this lens for landscape photography and I only shot with it for the first time today. Looks sharp. Is light. I wish it came with a hood and only surprising thing about it is it doesn’t have af/mf switch on the lens. Otherwise I’m happy with it thus far.

I had read a lot of good things about this lens. Now that I have fired off a few hundred shots with it, I am impressed.
