The Comfy Cone is a soft, cone-shaped e-collar that helps your pets heal and recover from surgeries, procedures, allergy flare-ups and hot spots in comfort.
All Comfy Cones are made with foam-backed, padded nylon that is easy to clean and is water-resistant and repellent. Not perfect, but easily the best cone Iâve used
I gave this cone five stars because these days five stars means âgoodâ and everything else means âbadâ. Itâs good, but not perfect. I bought this cone to prevent my 60 pound male golden retriever from licking his incision after being neutered. It has been very effective in that regard. I got the x-large size even though the sizing chart suggested a large might work. Based on other reviews and my own experience, I recommend getting the larger size if your dog is close to the border between two sizes.What I like about this cone is that it is very well built. The Velcro area is large and secure. I donât think it would be possible for my rambunctious dog to extract it, himself. Itâs easy to put on and take off. While it does seem more comfortable than rigid cones, I think calling it âcomfyâ is a bit of a stretch. He doesnât like wearing it, but no pet likes wearing a cone. It really doesnât bother him that much and he gets a good nights sleep while wearing it.What I donât like about the cone is that it is not transparent, which means he has no peripheral vision. He is an indoor dog and getting used to wearing it while in the house took a couple days. If your dog is an outdoor pet, I would suggest not letting him roam with this cone (or any other.)Weâve used at least a dozen cones of shame in dogs or cats over the years. This is clearly the best one we’ve had and, since you are likely reading this review while trying to decide which cone to buy, this the one I recommend.

Big improvement over the cheap plastic cone
My dog kept walking into my bare summer legs, among other things, with the plastic cone that the vet gave us, and it hurt a lot more than you’d expect for plastic. Not to mention how jarring it is when she would catch the edge of her crate or a doorway with that thing, and it would knock her back. I have a 55# hound/shepherd/pit mega-mutt mix with a long torso for her weight and regular size snout, and the L fits well. Wish I’d gotten tan instead of black to match her coat better. So far she hasn’t started going at her stitches, so I’ll just assume it’s long enough to prevent that.Pros – This is a huge improvement. I bought a used version here for $9, and it arrived in 2 days and appeared like-new, so am pleased with the savings. The design is flexible and has a smaller radius than the plastic version of the same size, so it’s easier for her to maneuver around, and much less jarring when she walks into me or other objects. The padding looks comfy.Cons – The opposing side of one of the short velcro tabs is missing (manufacturing defect?), so that tab doesn’t connect to anything. We used the middle velcro section on a size L. It’s much heavier than the plastic cone, so could be burdensome to walk around in, especially for smaller pets. The plastic stays were a pain to remove, and it doesn’t fold over that nicely especially where the cone is double-thickness, but it’s passable. I will try to leave the stays out permanently, it seems like the cone will still do the job without them – and they will be a pain to put back in. The flexibility is helpful so that I can fold it back on walks, so she can see better and not drag the cone all over the dirty ground while sniffing. It’s a hard fight to get the cone back on if I remove it, lesson learned the hard way, hence the fold-back option is great. Generally it seems easy to put on quickly – easier than the plastic one which had a complicated tab system to connect in place – but I’m trying to avoid having that fight again.

No es que yo lo haya usado; mi mascota, un canino geriatra de 13 años muy nervioso, lo avala.Mi mascota usaba el usual collar isabelino de plástico que normalmente venden en las veterinarias, sin embargo le estresaba tanto que hasta nos mordÃa. Ãste collar vino a resolver su estrés, ahora nos permite que se lo pongamos y no busca quitárselo ni está de malas ni nos ha mordido e incluso hasta duerme mejor. Es muy suavecito como para permitir un descanso pero con las varillas es lo suficientemente fuerte como para evitar que se alcance las zonas de recuperación. Mi mascota ha vomitado mientras lo usa y aunque lo lavé bien guardó un poco de olor… tuve que lavarlo varias veces (solo con jabón vetriderm y un trapo húmedo por la dermatitis de mi mascota) y orearlo varios dÃas para que desapareciera el olor. Por error, una ocasión se fue a la lavadora y aunque no encogió ni se rompió ni se deformó ahora se ve un poco arrugado y se siente poco menos firme aún con las varillas pero no es impedimento para que cumpla su propósito. Las varillas se pueden retirar para lavarlo. Hay que medir bien el cuello y largo de la trompa de la mascota para que logre cubrir las zonas de recuperación, sin embargo el collar trae tres posiciones de ajuste del ancho. Hay que tener cuidado con el velcro de sujetación cuando se lave porque se puede llegar a desgastar un poco y no apretar bien, a mi me pasó y tuve que recorrerlo a la siguiente posición pero le quedó un poco flojo a mi mascota (y aún asà le cubrió perfecto su herida). Cuando está bien colocado y sujetado, no se lo pueden quitar (al menos no mi mascota que es un maltés). Debido al color (negro) guarda calor en dÃas soleados. Si le pongo un collar isabelino normal, una faja y este collar, mi mascota elege este collar y por eso digo que es muy cómodo.

Very impressed with this product. Our dog really doesnât like wearing a cone. And he doesnât really like wearing this cone either. But it allows him to make himself comfortable. To nap. To sleep. And it still provides all of the production that a conventional hard plastic cone does. To us, this product has really been our best buy of the year!

This is by far the absolute best cone for my dog, and worth every penny! The cone is made of soft cushioned material that is easily wiped clean, and the bonus is light reflective trim, great for night time walks. I have a large East-European Shepherd with a long reaching snout that can manage to over reach other cone lengths. This cone is fantastic as it is longer than my dog’s snout reach, so he’s not able to lick or chew at wound site. It is sturdy and does not crack or shatter like plastic cones, plus it is soft and comfy like a pillow to lie down on, and does not rub or irritate his neck. Also, this cone does not damage your wall paint or furniture, like the hard plastic cones, when your pet clumsily bumps something when playing or turning around. We attached it’s elastic loops to his collar which make it really easy for us to put on and take off when we want. You don’t need to remove it during mealtime, but we do because he’s a tad messy eater, but he looks forward to getting his cone back on, its like a special collar pillow and he likes wearing it! *he really disliked wearing the hard plastic cones.
