    love it!
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this product, but it turns out that the Comfytemp microwavable heating pad delivers heat in a much deeper way than I’ve experienced with electric heating pads (which seem to deliver heat largely to my body’s surface). Maybe that’s because this microwavable pad delivers moist heat therapy, which, according to the seller’s description, applies “penetrating” heat with the help of steam. The pad is filled with 90% flaxseed and 10% clay beads, which makes it extremely flexible; it drapes itself over body parts and—at a hefty 2.18 pounds (3.7 pounds if you order the larger version)—it doesn’t move around much. That weight also feels comforting. It takes a bit of experimentation to figure out how much time the pad needs in the microwave to get the heat level you prefer. The seller says to try 1 minute first, and then 30-second additions from then on. I ended up taking 4.5 minutes to heat up my pad. It was frustrating going in 30-sec increments to find that out, but now I know. I try to stretch the pad’s length out as much as I can, and turn it over every 1.5 minutes. BTW, the scent of the heated flax seeds is very pleasant. It’s all worth it when I plop the pad on my shoulder, which is still recovering from a damaged rotator cuff. The heat penetrates way deep and is quite soothing. I highly recommend this microwavable heating pad. Thanks for reading my review, and I hope you found it helpful.

    Versatile And Portable Heat Therapy
I definitely like the concept of a microwaveable heating pad because you don’t have to worry about cords and keeping it plugged in. It’s just a matter of popping it into the microwave for two minutes and then enjoying the heat for a short amount of time. Obviously it’s not going to stay hot for the long term, but it’s convenient for taking on the go.The heating pad features a very soft and cozy material which adds to the overall comfort. It’s also weighted which helps to keep it in place and minimize sliding while you’re using it. The size of the pad is much larger than some of the other microwaveable pads that I’ve tried, so it allows for a wider treatment area.I started out by heating it for one minute, and then I heated it for two more 30 second intervals. After two minutes in the microwave, it provided a very nice level of warmth. The only down side to this type of heating pad is that you’ll have to keep reheating it if you want to use it for an extended length of time. The warmth starts to fade after 10-15 minutes to a much more subtle level of heat, so it’s definitely a short term therapy item. It’s perfect if you’re taking it to use on a short drive and just want some relief while you’re in the car, etc.One thing I like is that the heating pad generates moist heat which is supposedly more effective than dry heat. I’ve never been able to tell much difference in the relief I get from dry heat as opposed to moist heat, but this definitely helped ease my pain. Overall, it’s a helpful form of therapy and would be a nice gift idea for anyone who deals with frequent pain.

    Cozy, Weighted Heat Relief
I wasn’t totally sure what to expect with this microwavable heating pad, but it’s been such a nice little comfort for sore muscles. It heats up in just a couple of minutes (I had to experiment to find my microwave’s sweet spot), and I love that it doesn’t need to be plugged in or tethered to a cord. The soft, velvety fabric feels great on my skin, and the weight—thanks to the flaxseed and clay bead filling—makes it drape perfectly over whatever spot needs some love without sliding around. It’s like a warm, mini-weighted blanket, and I’m here for it.The heat doesn’t last forever, maybe 10-15 minutes at its peak, but the moist heat feels like it sinks in deeper than a regular electric pad. I’ve been using it for sore shoulders, cramping, tight muscles, and it’s such a comfort, I definitely feel more relaxed after using it. The flaxseed gives off this really cozy, natural scent when warmed, which makes it even better. For quick relief or a little portable comfort, it’s such a nice option.

Doesn’t retain heat as well as others. Very Soft though
It’s a nice size but it doesn’t retain heat for long. Has a mild funky smell. It is softer which is nice but bed buddy brand retains heat much longer. Definitely a keeper but maybe switch out inside material for a longer lasting heat retention and better smell.

    Great long lasting heat
This is a great size heating pad, you just quickly pop it in the microwave then the heat lasts for a decent amount of time. The cover is soft and transmits the heat in an even way. It is big enough to cover large portions of your body or wrap around a joint. I personally love the weight, but also appreciate it might not be everyones thing.

Large, heavy non-electric heating pad, cover is not washable
This large, heavy non-electric heating pad is great for soothing my sore neck and shoulders at the end of a long day. It works well centered on my spine or placed on a shoulder. The moist heat and soft fleece fabric create a wonderful comforting effect. I also like to take it to bed with me and feel the warm hug of the pad on my neck as I fall asleep. Although the fabric feels a little damp when you take it out of the microwave, it dries pretty quickly and doesn’t create damp spots on my pillows. I love that this heating pad is non-electric, so I don’t have to deal with cables, and I don’t have to worry about using it while sleeping.Heating up this pad is a bit of a process. My microwave is pretty small, and it’s a bit difficult to fit this huge pad without it scraping along the walls. I have to fold it over twice, microwave it for a couple of minutes, then refold it another way and microwave it again for another couple of minutes. Also, I wish the cover was removable. I like to use it directly on my skin, and I’m worried that it will be dirty and soaked with sweat after a while. The care instructions say “Do not wash” and “Keep dry.” So how are you supposed to clean it?
