Dont listen to the bad reviews. It works well. Read this first
To start Iâd like to say I am a veteran videography and photographer. Iâve used large gimbals with full frame camera and small Gimbals line this. I think a lot of the bad reviews are from user error and lack of knowledge. I suggest reading the instructions and watch some tutorial videos to learn when you get new gear. There is most likely a simple fix or oversight your not seeing. Regarding this gimbal I have both the OM4 and OM5. I got the 5 because of the extension rod and I really like for low shots after a few days of use. I will agree with others that both the OM4 and OM5 stress to carry the weight of the iPhone 12 and 13 pro max. I use tested the 11 and 12 pro and had no issues. The max I would get some vibration which is disappointing. Please realize the just little weight difference is a big deal on this little gimbal. Remove your case and any attachments on your phone. Less weight the gimbal has to work with the better. Also make sure to balance the phone on the gimbal before turning it on. Hold the motor that goes up and down and then balance the phone so it does not drop to the left or right and stays level on its own. That the only adjustment you can make on this simple gimbal and itâs very important. I believe a lot of people complaining of vibration are not doing this. Itâs really easy to want just put on the back plate and stick it to the gimbal and power on but balancing is important step. I blame dji marketing a little as the promo vid shows someone just slapping it on randomly to the phone and sticking to gimbal. You can do this one you balance it once and then remember where to place the mount on your phone each time but the first time make sure to figure out where that spot is and you will prevent a lot of head ache.Another point to bring up is to learn the modes and buttons. Figuring out the features and limits of each mode will help a lot. These gimbals are turn key and can get great content right out of the box but the difference between good and great content is practicing a little bit and getting to know your gimbal. Little things like proper settings, smooth body movement and shot planning can really help. Have patience and learn the tool.I rarely leave reviews but wanted give my two cents on this one as Iâm quite experienced with gimbals and think some users are giving bad reviews that arenât accurate because of lack of knowledge and experience and may turn off some buyers that could really benefit from this awesome product. Itâs amazing that this product is under $200 and paired with a new iPhone 13 pro it can create the quality of content that would have taken 10k + of equipment to produce 10 years ago. Amazing what we have access to these days. In one small backpack I have this gimbal, a mavic air 2 and misc filters and I shoot amazing pro quality content. Dji has made that all possible. Iâm not affiliate or paid by them. I just really appreciate their gear and think they do in excellent job.Iâll try to find the time to do a tutorial on it and show some of my work in the future. OM5 is an exciting release 🙂

App not available in Google Play Store
So this is compatible with android BUT the app is not available in the google play store, you can find videos on how to sideload the app onto your phone, I had to download an “APK installer” app from google play, download the APK from DJI’s website, open the installer app and then select the download, you may have to go into your settings and allow installation from unknown apps option, but after about 2-3 hours of research and messing around with it I finally got the app to download and it is amazing! the tracking system and the extension come in handy.

This review is after I’ve owned and used this DJI OM 5 for two months.Several friends have inquired, commented on, congratulated me on picking up this gimbal.What does one call this? A stabilizer, a gimbal, a tripod or selfie stick? It is all-of-the-above, so I just call it a gimbal because it’s more than just a stabilizer.Certainly, fewer people know the word gimbal, in casual conversation, but I don’t really talk about this sort of thing to people. It catches peoples eye when using, and I just smile as a friendly passer-by and nod. But you know, even for myself, after about two months of use, it still feels like I’m just starting to get used to it. So I don’t know what I call it, except a gimbal with a learning curve!Indeed, this was my first gimbal, stabilizer, etc. Before buying, there was no idea how I’d adapt, but I presumed it’d be easy for a few minutes, I’d use it for walking in parks. Yes, and yes. But there are many gotchas, and one doesn’t realize it until making a video, reviewing and seeing “whoops”. Some “whoops” are mistakes that come from experimental applications, as in a park live stream to youtube, the park has poor cell reception but I didn’t think about that until later review, and everything was so low-resolution from the live stream app that I de-listed the video. When walking, in a single video if you go from a very-high (7-8 feet above the ground) to a very-low (1-2 feet above the ground) so you can capture feet walking, depending on the way you do it, the gimbal MIGHT flip the camera, in a way that the video viewers are watching is upside down (this, if done by a 180-degree tilt/roll), or it may work perfectly well (this, if done by a 180-degree pitch adjustment). The pitch adjustment has definite limits on extremes, and if you click the trigger twice to reset the camera orientation to “home”, depending on a pitch position relative to gravity, the camera may be pointing diagonally upward toward sky or downward toward ground, rather than straight forward. Stuff like this, and there are many more examples, take a lot of learning and experimenting.It’s all good though, and I have used this to create videos for business and pleasure.One of the best features is the built-in learning library, tutorials baked into the app. I must say that is one direct path to a 5-star review, and without that I’d definitely be some ways back on this learning curve.I really enjoy this, worth the money.

Je pense que c’est le modèle parfait chez DJI pour un stabilisateur pas chère et très bon. Déjà je trouve que le produit est très bien conçu puisque on peut le démonter et tout ranger dans une petite housse fournie avec, ainsi on peut transporter le matériel facilement sans encombrement contrairement à d’autres marques que j’ai pu essayer. Avec ce modèle on peut filmer à l’horizontal comme à la vertical. On peut étendre la perche style perche de selfie, mais aussi on peut le transformer en trépieds donc très polyvalent !Il est assez simple d’utilisation , tout est indiqué dans la notice et c’est rapide à prendre en main.Je recommande vivement pour ceux qui veulent s’acheter un stabilisateur, surtout si c’est leur premier car il est très adapté pour un débutant, son prix est très abordable et il proche beaucoup de fonctionnalités.
