I have bought other green drinks and there were 2 that didn’t taste bad at all but then I read an article that the wheat grass is really not so good for you at all and after reading more about it made sense to me. And I had the idea to do spirulina alone in the past so I bought this. I like it. I like it alone but I like it even more mixed with a powder drink that I have that is a combination of fruits good for you. I also add one other item to it…..a powder I get called vital life that gives you the perfect ratio of sodium and potassium. The 3 together taste great. But I have to confess that I am really bad about taking supplements. I believe in doing it but I am not good at doing it. But I did feel good the days I did it. I would recommend this product.

Great product! Once you get past the “fish food smell” it’s great! It takes on the flavor of whatever you add it to. It’s really a magic powder with lots of great nutrients! Easy and nutritious!

I use this in a daily smoothie! The taste is horrible, but I cut it with the use of a dried and pitted date. I think it gives me great energy and is good to start the day with. It makes me not as hungry!

No Nasty Taste in My Smoothie
I made my usual green smoothie this morning (Spinach, kale, carrots, peaches, various berries, banana and avocado) and included one teaspoon of this stuff. There was a hint of a powdery texture, barely a hint. I noticed no weird flavors or anything. Good stuff.

I did a lot of research on Spirulina before purchasing and I am glad I did after reading how some of the other products smell and taste like sludge. (these were imported products)The Earthrise Spirulina does not smell or taste bad. I put a teaspoon into a small amount of orange juice and stirred it well. (it was delivered to my store and I was eager to try it) Well it virtually has no taste and was easy to drink. I am looking forward to using it for myself and for my dogs.I definitely recommend Earthrise Spirulina!

I know it’s healthy, but…
After doing a great deal of reading about spirulina, I decided to try this brand. I have used it a few times, and I still can taste what seems to be an aftertaste, of which is hard to describe. I find it hard to believe that the other reviewers say this is good, maybe my taste-buds are off. I put about two teaspoons in a green smoothie and it turned it a deep dark green! I used it again in a fruit smoothie (bad move) and the color was so weird I almost didn’t drink it at all. I think it’s probably better in a green smoothie, if not, you may never drink another fruit smoothie again! The smell when I first opened the bottle, was like I scooped up something from the ocean and stuck it in this bottle! But hey, don’t trust what I say, buy this for yourself and give it a try. Why oh why must being “healthy” taste so gosh awful! As not to waste my money, I will use the rest of this and buy spirulina again only in the pill form (yes I know, we all want the “magic” health pill, well sign me up!

This powder tastes awful. Get spirulina in caplets if you just have to have it. It completely overpowers anything that you may try to mix it with.

I have been taking Spirulina for years now. I put a tsp in my smoothie every morning. When I was in college taking 4 hour night classes, I would put it in my smoothie to suppress my appetite in order to get through the long classes. It still works for that purpose after all these years and also gives me tons of energy. I don’t notice the flavor at all anymore, but I think my current smoothie recipe guarantees it. The trick is to use a generous amount of raw cacao powder. Chocolate and Spirulina are a great combo.
